This month’s Hotspot is a bay in the Yellowknife River. This is an early season post spawn Pike area that can get some really big fish cruising around; it’s all about timing. A soft weightless jerkbait like a Yamamoto D Shad in a bright colour will pretty much clean up here. Slow moving spoons and spinnerbaits can do wonders here as well. Take advantage of the gin clear water and use your eyes to look for any big long dark spots lying on the bottom… they’re not always logs!
