Angelo and Pete give their custom Princecraft “FNC1” a new facelift and then meet up with the “Bigwigs” from Princecraft Boats to showcase their pride and joy. As curious and eager as the Princecraft team are to see the transformed fishing craft for themselves, they would love to do some fishing too! The perfect meeting place is Kenauk Nature in the Outaouais region of Quebec. With brutal weather conditions dampening the entire trip, the boys hope they can still make a good impression with their fishing machine… and catch some fish too!
On this episode, we highlight the inaugural Canada Carp Cup Classic tournament, held in Long Sault, on the banks of the famous St. Lawrence River. This World Carp Classic qualifier event is the first of its kind, and had both highs and lows throughout the two rigorous days of fishing…with the ultimate high being the 2 winners catching OVER 1800 pounds of Carp… yup you read that right!
Pete travels to some of Ontario’s most northerly Largemouth Bass waters, the St. Mary’s River, near Sault Ste. Marie in Algoma Country. It’s October, the water is hovering just above 50 degrees, and the fall colours surrounding this great fishing destination are in full peak. Question is… are the Bass in full peak feeding mode? Pete ends this show with a quick trip to the St. Mary’s “rapids” and tries his hand at the world-renowned Steelhead and Rainbow fishery.
Angelo heads to the province of New Brunswick with good buddy and Muskie fishing nut Steve Niedzwiecki (owner of Chaudiere Lodge, Upper French River), as they seek Canada’s number one predator… the Muskellunge. You read it correctly, there “are” Muskie in NB and they are thriving in the waters of the Saint John River… one problem though, in this water they’re considered an invasive species and many of the old school locals want them eradicated! Ang and Steve try to bring new light to this magnificent sport fish and open up the eyes to the entire country saying “these Muskie are here to stay, so let’s embrace and take full advantage of this relatively new and exciting east-coast fishery”!
This Hotspot is where we’ve caught some big specks in the past. This is a classic current seam that trout will use as a feeding and resting area. Spinners, Minnow Baits, and Live Bait, will all work here. As a word of caution, PLEASE be careful here, as the water rushing down from the Pine Portage dam is extremely fast. We here at Fish’n Canada highly recommend a fishing guide on your first trip to the Nipigon, for not only the good fishing areas, but safety to you and your boat.
