Angler fishes from a Roadside Pothole

While driving to your favourite fishing hole, have you ever seen a pothole that was so big that you could fish out of it? As strange as that sounds, an angler in Russia did just that. His local road that he drive’s on every day (some of which are fishing days) in Rubtsovsk, has a huge pothole that is constantly filled with water. So much water in fact that he decided to make use of it when he realised local authorities were not going to fill it in.

His idea… to stock the hole with fish of course. His homemade stocking program consisted of some small smelt-like fish and believe it or not, a Pike. The last step was to grab his rod and start fishing.

When posting the video, the author said: “The local authorities are clearly not going to do anything about the hole, so as it’s here to stay we thought we might as well make use of it.”
