Most ice fishermen respect the great outdoors, but a few leave an awful mess behind.
Derek Hebner, from the Pembroke Enforcement Unit of the Ministry of Natural
Resources and Forestry, joins Angelo to discuss the regulations for ice huts, portable
ice huts, and proper waste management on our lakes and rivers.

Many Canadians own a chainsaw, but not that many have taken any training on safe
operation and maintenance of the saw. Todd Fritzley of BPF Safety Consulting, based
in Guelph, offers some guidance on avoiding a catastrophic injury.
The Boat Show is underway in Toronto, and Adrian Rushforth from Mercury Marine
will be in their booth with this year’s new products. Adrian provides a preview to the
2020 Merc line.

European settlers almost wiped out the 30 million plains bison in North America. The
remnant population of 350 bison, has increased over the years, but pure strain bison
are few in number. Dr. Gregg Adams from the University of Saskatchewan is working
with First Nations to breed a genetically pure strain and reintroduce them into the wild.

Will we pass the point of no return with greenhouse gas emissions in 10-12 years?
Can the nations of the world, cut emissions to avoid crossing the threshold of a 2C
global temperature increase? Ross McKitrick from the University of Guelph offers his
perspective on the timelines and will share his opinion on scientists and researchers
who believe that things are not as dire as we have been led to believe.
