With almost 500 km of shoreline, 1,200 islands, and some of the most diverse and rugged terrain in Ontario, Temagami is a Mecca for anglers, paddlers, and hikers alike. But the main attraction of the area is definitely the Old Growth Forests.
These stands of towering red and white pine contain trees that are almost 400 years old—making them some of the oldest trees of their kind on the planet. With less than one percent of the world’s old growth red and white pine ecosystems remaining, these stands represent a rare opportunity to see what much of Ontario would have looked like hundreds of years ago.
Viewed either by trail or by canoe, the Old Growth is truly a forest like no other.
Just another reason to Go Fish in Ontario.
