Hiya folks,
I want to talk today about running and gunning.
What I mean by “running and gunning” is over the course of a day, many times we’ll fish 25, 35, 45, even 50 locations. We move very quickly between a point, a bar, or maybe a weed bed. When folks hear us talk about running and gunning, they automatically assume we’re fishing quickly. That’s not necessarily the case.
Often we’ll fish a drop shot rig or maybe we’ll drag a tube very, very slowly. So we’re moving quickly between one spot and the next, but when we get there we slow right down. Fish finesse, pick it apart and fish very slowly.
Kevin VanDam, probably the best Bass angler in the world, says “I’m fishing slow, quickly.” And that’s what you want to do.
