Fish Talk – Keep ‘Em Bunched

Hiya folks,

Keep ‘Em Bunched. That’s what I want to talk about today: keeping the baitfish bunched. Whenever we’re out for Walleye, Crappies, Yellow Perch, muskies, Northerns, or any fish that swims, one of the keys is finding big balls of bait. And then we use those balls of bait that we spot on the sonar, we use them almost as floating structure.

But here’s the key folks: You can’t go rushing in; you can’t break up those balls of bait. You use those balls of bait just like decoys when you’re hunting in the fall. If you come rushing in and you put the boat over top of the bait or throw a big bait and you make them scatter, the predators also scatter and your bite goes south.

Keep them bunched!
