Fish Talk – Make It Look Like New

Hiya folks,

I want to talk to you today about cork handle rods. I love using cork handled rods early in the spring or late in the fall—any time it’s cold outside. Cork feels really warm in your hands. The only problem with cork handled rods is they tend to get dirty quickly.

There are two secrets to restoring your cork handled rods. One of them is good rubbing alcohol—just inexpensive rubbing alcohol. Moisten a cloth with rubbing alcohol, put it on your cork, and it restores it to its original condition. The other little secret is using diaper wipes, the same diaper wipes you use on the kids’ bottoms. When you think about it, they’re made for a powerful job and yet they’ve got to be gentle. If you get some of these diaper wipes, rub them over the cork, it’ll make it look like new.
