3:19
right i have all the audience jimmy Jimmy ain't selling your shoes anymore buddy no connection okay
3:26
anyways we're going to have a whole lot of fun uh we've been waiting all winter to get out of here come on now we're
3:33
going to share some of that uh stuff here shortly uh first uh listener
3:38
feedback uh Mr bowman yeah this one's I just we just love the name already on this via YouTube is uh Sir Poopy Pants
3:46
so Sir Poopy Pants via YouTube he says uh I stumbled onto this because of Cabin
3:54
River Outdoors first thing so he stumbled on our podcast so Cabin River Outdoors is that um one of our people
4:01
that we had them on the show didn't we sean Trudeau from BC right right so this is a new uh uh viewer listener wow and
4:08
and he's on to us because of a special Can we give him a big hand thank you thank you booby pants you just
4:15
got a big hand thank you very much first thing one of you looks like Marvin Gerard Raymond Readington's lawyer and
4:23
the other looks like Johnny Fever W KRP in Cincinnati well at this point I could
4:29
not help but watch good stuff there's There we are look at I love it do I look like that guy i
4:35
don't know i can't you never can tell what you look like right probably that's funny well at least he thinks so hell
4:41
yeah thank you Marvin for the wonderful comment sir Poopy Pants sir Poopy Pants uh Sir Poopy Pants Conservation Quarter
4:49
brought to you by uh the good folks at Well I've got an ad i've got something
4:54
to read here from them where they There they are right it's our grass carp stuff that's right the folks who bring you
4:59
Asiancarp.ca CA uh the Invasive Species Center want us to remind you once again
5:05
uh as you go get ready to go out uh fishing this season right across this uh
5:11
wonderful uh province and the country obviously um if you would uh sort of be
5:17
vigilant for the dreaded grass carp that is slowly creeping into neighborhoods
5:23
near us do you think we're going to encounter one either this year or ever in our lives i I you know I'm torn
5:30
between answering hell yeah I hope so and hell no I hope not hell yeah because
5:35
I think it'd be I don't know uh to be able to identify it and say whoa there it is first one I've seen you know would
5:42
be kind of exciting on the other hand not a good idea so maybe I'll say no I'm
5:47
hoping we don't hoping we don't okay uh but these critters need to be uh we need
5:52
to be on the lookout for them they can certainly do their fair share of mass
5:58
destruction uh in the waterways by eating all the vegetation which supports lawnmowers there lawnmowers out there
6:04
right nobody's ever you know Dean can we see if we can dig up some information is
6:09
if if a grass carp is capable of eating 40% of its body weight every day in
6:14
vegetation some of that's got to come out somewhere
6:19
yeah I think that causes algae blooms because of all the waste I believe okay
6:25
so it promotes algae yeah I believe so so they can not only are they consuming the plants which promote oxygen and and
6:33
you know habitat for crustaceans and invertebrates but but they actually now
6:40
say that Wow so both ways both ends of that fish is destructive what you're
6:45
saying okay that's right so what we need to do as anglers make sure we know everything there is to know about the
6:51
grass carp in particular identifying its look so we can identify it out in the field so if we see one this year we know
6:57
it's not a guppy it's not a that fell would be in big trouble if you and I
7:03
come upon it i'm not going to I'm going to say vulva you might want to turn your head on this one just to let you know
7:10
big trouble asiancarp.ca that's where you're going to get all of your information so so you can download that
7:16
stuff onto your phone picture just that little picture alone would help somebody there you go versus nothing so that are
7:22
it for that uh in the news Mr bow this is an interesting story this is a biggie
7:29
fishing captain sentenced for shooting po shooting and poisoning dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico come on now what a
7:37
what a dork uh by the way this is brought to you by J&B uh your outdoor
7:42
superstar jmbb Marine and Cyclom Marine Ontario's largest Princecraft
7:48
Mercury dealer going to see them boys this year we are yeah we're going to be
7:54
shooting in their neck of the woods we're going up there and we're going to work with them too are we doing any uh instore stuff with them at all Dean have
7:59
you figured that out i believe we are we don't have the any we don't have the dates yet but we are doing something with them so wow so you folks in Timmans
8:07
uh keep a lookout at JNB Cycl Marine i'm sure they'll post it in the store when
8:13
uh as the information is made available uh we will be there as we're pulling through we're shooting in their
8:18
neighborhood so we're going to spend some time in the store with you all of you folks from that area come down and say "Hey now." Hey come on now uh the
8:28
story yes zachary Brandon Barfield 31 years old a longtime charter and
8:33
commercial fishing captain from Panama City Florida committed this these dolphin crimes here is the crimes were
8:41
illegally poisoned and shot bottl-nose dolphins violated the marine mammal
8:46
protection act and the fed federal insecticide fungicide and rodenticile
8:52
rodicide rodent aside i've never seen that word before rodentic aside reminds
8:57
me of a Friday night weekly uh outing I used to have as a young man we had a
9:03
rodentides well there was all that available and more at the You had a lot of roadside stuff not rodentide you boys
9:11
I know you did uh all from the summer of 22 2022 to to the summer through the
9:16
summer of 23 barfield was frustrated and check this out now frustrated by dolphins eating red snapper off his
9:23
client's fishing lines can we just stop there for a moment please we sure can this is ridiculous stop there for a minute well
9:30
okay it's easy for us and I am not condoning this at all don't get me wrong
9:36
but I can I can understand the frustration of course that he's talking
9:42
about right because even ourselves we Is this the only red snapper spot though can he not find more red snapper spots
9:48
around or like just going to look around oh my god the dolphins are annihilating my business i better move i would thank
9:53
you for we've been out there ourselves uh on a couple of occasions with uh charter boat people yes and uh hey
10:03
and uh you know uh it's a business for them right so yes absolutely i get it and we've seen some stuff like this oh
10:11
the the boys with dolphins yeah they're uh they don't like a lot of things out there a lot of certainly things that get
10:17
in the way of uh their game it's terrible like Pete said just move why
10:22
think he said he fed the dolphins bait fish laced with methanol wow no men
10:29
that's not methanol methyl methyl meth methyl methyl a
10:34
highly toxic pesticide band for residential use so this was premeditated though see I
10:42
thought it was just one of those spur of the moments guy gets pissed off and he just he's had it and I won't take it
10:47
anymore no this this was premeditated oh but wait if the pesticides didn't work
10:53
he used a 12 gauge shotgun to shoot at least five dolphin dolphins killing one injuring four of them wow so this guy
11:00
was on a I wonder if he got ratted on by his clients that were on the boat probably i mean who else would know all
11:06
this stuff right and and that would be your witnesses i read a story that there was a toddler on the boat for one of the
11:12
shootings and that caused a What a way to show uh legal consequences if you're thinking
11:19
that Mr barfield's actions were uh called for uh and you want to do the same uh sentenced to 30 days in prison
11:28
fined $51,000 and may I just remind for you fellow Canadians that's about a million2
11:34
in Canadian dollars yep uh plead guilty to three counts related to poisoning and
11:40
shooting dolphins so 51 grand plus 30 days in uh 10 days per per dolphin wow
11:47
wow that's pretty decent that's a decent fine a lot of times we say "No it's not enough not enough." But that one hurt
11:53
never not enough yeah that would hurt him for sure for sure uh Dean did you uh put this up on the site did you it's
12:00
It's on the site right now yeah yeah and is there more to the story than what There's more there's some quotes from the guy uh I think it's the police
12:07
officer who got the report about the dolphin being shot in front of the the kid uh so there's some info on that and
12:13
then there's some info on other that's nasty dolphin related incidents because
12:19
there's been a bunch of them you know out in the West Coast you know that stuff kind of I won't say goes on
12:25
regularly but it's not uncommon to to have uh uh either orcas or seals which
12:32
are the biggest biggest culprit to come out east and west coast attack attack your salmon that's on the line and eat
12:38
it and all that stuff so they get to know the boats and you probably can't get away from them oh yeah exactly and
12:45
it's it's like Ann said it's the it's their business so these guys have a whole different train of thought right
12:51
first off you're out in the ocean i'm not going to get caught right off the hop right so I got I'm take care of
12:57
business who's going to see me out here in the middle of nowhere right i'll tell you what when we did our first tuna
13:03
shoot Angie and I we as soon as we boed that blue fin tuna the DFO we didn't
13:09
have boat no it was on we said "Oh you got a fish on and all of a sudden the C it was like an army boat was the DFO
13:16
that come over and boarded our boat checking out all the the tagging and everything to make sure it was all legal
13:21
and the whole nine yards." Oh yeah it was uh So there's certain places where you're not going to get away with some stuff like that that was weird because
13:27
because you look around you were out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean there's nothing there's no boats out there so we get this fish on and all of a sudden
13:34
within a couple of minutes there's a flotilla coming at us it was crazy it's very It's intimidating cuz we didn't we
13:40
didn't know what was going on we're out there tuna fishing for the Fishing Canada show and we noticed we're we were with the
13:46
u the native community there we were catching the fish for that everything was Milbrook milbrook yeah community
13:53
yeah it was uh what was his name adrien adrien Load adrien yes and yeah so we
13:59
thought everything was was good and it ended up being good but I'll tell you what they were on it so which is good
14:04
you know so anyways uh hopefully lessons learned by all and hopefully that
14:10
message goes out to anybody that's maybe doing that sort of thing and thinking
14:15
it's funny and haha he I almost k I almost killed my dog today did you with And this is a real story with me like
14:22
this guy let me tell you let me tell you the story and everybody listening here cuz I have I have a chocolate lab and
14:28
I've had black ch black labs chocolate labs and and yellow labs and they are all pigs like do people talk about labs
14:34
being pigs they are literal glutton they can't help themselves right so yesterday
14:41
at work here I brought my I have a little Yeti cooler that's got a zipper real tough zipper you know to go to undo
14:48
and all that i ate about half my lunch long story short ate about half my lunch brought the cooler home and was going to
14:53
empty it out got doing something else whatever completely forgot about my cooler right mhm so I don't know how
14:58
much how closed much closed I had it but obviously I didn't have it closed the full way could just get his nose in i
15:05
bet listen to this i wake up in the morning i And something got me up at 4:00 a.m this morning something I was
15:11
restless in my bed i don't know what the hell you know what I mean i got up and and I walked out and the dog wasn't in
15:18
our room and usually he's in our room i went out there and I saw 80% of my dog
15:25
his freaking head was in that cooler and stuck in a cooler this big in a in a 2
15:31
ft by couldn't back out he couldn't back out and I could I I didn't know if he was dead or not and I thought I went
15:37
down and I I could hear him he was hyperventilating you know there was the air was just barely coming
15:42
in like this the stupid son of a stuck his head right in there like that he ate the food like there was a piece of pizza in there and the yogurt it was
15:50
all gone and now he was just suffering trying to get out i put my hand on the top of that lid open that zipper and I
15:55
literally had to grab his collar and pull as hard as I could to pop his head out of that cuz I couldn't get the zipper oh cuz he broke the zipper the
16:01
little latch on the zipper that was That's how he opened it he bit that open and threw that away and I and I popped
16:07
it out and he was just like he was going to die i I think he would have suffocated and it was hot as hell you
16:13
know you take your took that out i could feel the heat out of the cooler his head was freaking I I just I I didn't know
16:18
what to So I just I put him outside for you know to cool down a little bit like that i said "Get out in on the deck there." not on this one but let's
16:26
just say I didn't feed him his breakfast this morning that's That's And that was punishment cuz cuz after he came off the
16:31
deck he was looking for more food he forgot all about the cooler deal and he was want he wanted his food so my dog almost said "Be careful with labs and
16:38
being stupid like me and leaving your cooler half." Yeah you can't leave anything around unreal when you got It
16:44
scared the out of me like it was unreal so that's it where were we before we went off now we're going to the fan
16:49
question at fish official fanfanmount.com now can you do a better job at that i'm sure I'm sure they really appreciate you
16:56
i'm I was thinking you were going to do it but you were saying where we're going so I said we were going to that so now you're you're up go ahead do that again
17:03
who is it brought to you by fish Fighter Mounts.com give me a hell yeah uh by
17:10
Evan Benois via email once again all giveaways are off the table until
17:17
further notice so I don't care whether it was via email via YouTube via I don't care worse than Tang jeez that's it we
17:24
will have no more giveaways i'm not liking this company i'm told we're shutting that all down now do we know
17:31
why Dean is there any no no just that just became We never get any reasons
17:36
with when when Madame Tang gives us the the the gabble hits the the bench when she goes on the tear okay okay Monique
17:43
very good very good people think people think we can like we're just making this up
17:49
e lives with herself i have been trying to get her on this show and before this
17:54
show I've been I was trying to get her on the radio show for 30 years she's listening to this right now in her office because No she's not she can't
18:02
hear you you don't think so no no um and she's always turned me found an excuse
18:08
to turn me down but let me tell you something kitties one day one day before
18:14
this is all over we are going to get her behind a mic and hopefully a
18:19
camera and everything that we've ever talked about throughout the years about
18:24
her you're going to find out exactly why that's a podcast right there that's a podcast that's a series for God's sakes
18:32
uh we have series called The Countest the Countest episode one uh so it comes
18:38
from Evan Benois via email uh Evan says
18:43
"Hey guys love the show." Well thank you Evan thank you we love you too give him a just for that give me a hell yeah
18:50
thank you uh I've got a long haul question for you i'm heading to
18:55
Nipagon boy oh boy oh boy we're not We're not there this year we're not going there no sir we're not there again
19:02
uh I heard Ray Spo sold his place he's not there something going on uh this fall for my
19:10
first real northern fishing trip oh my god so he's going on his first real
19:15
adventure up north and it happens to be a Nipagon wow oh my god good for you good for you right uh what do you guys
19:23
do to make those kind of drives bearable bearable we look forward we're going to This whole show we're doing today is
19:30
going to be all about that so you're in luck uh bearable that's you know getting to our destination is usually more than
19:39
half of the adventure in itself cuz there's always something that goes on that we'll discuss here in a few minutes
19:46
and you got to make the most of it you know I know some people travel well and
19:51
some people don't travel well there is that element and I think it's all in your
19:57
head right if you if you if you start before the trip by saying "Oh my god we
20:03
got 8 and a half hours oh it's never going to end." Well you chances are it's never going to end it's
20:09
going to be long and boring but if you go and instill that sense of adventure
20:14
in your soul every turn every I don't know every time you stop
20:20
at a gas station every everything that you do can be part of the journey and it usually is and it's a something always
20:26
happens yep it's a block yep staying staying awake one thing we do is eat sunflower seeds yes it works so well
20:33
Evan if you make sure you have you know whatever flavor you like they make all kinds of flavors right now and there's
20:38
something about the when you're driving just the driver and anybody else can do it too obviously but the driver it keeps
20:44
you going constantly you have no thing in the world because better than coffee
20:49
better than caffeine by far better than everything and and the thing is I mean after 3 or 4 hours or a couple of bags
20:56
of big bags of sunflowers it's like well you're right so you say "Okay enough
21:02
enough." You put it down and within five minutes 5 minutes maybe five minutes
21:08
yeah you start not Oh jeez get another bag hey yeah just make sure you got like
21:14
an old coffee cup or something between your legs so you can spit put your old uh shells in there you can pee in it too
21:20
pe cup it's a double ender stevie would probably do that right oh you don't even use a cup no more that's why he bought
21:26
that old truck so there you go you asking any any tricks for staying awake that is our trick the only one that
21:32
works is sunflower seeds and something to think of cuz it's always behooved us
21:37
how potent it is and how well it works and then you think stuff like baseball
21:44
players every baseball team has a uh a sponsorship from uh sunflower seed
21:51
companies because every single one of them when they're on the bench and out in the field they're eating sunflower
21:57
seeds have you noticed that well maybe they're going to fall asleep is that what you're thinking well maybe it it it
22:02
something right have you ever heard anything about that i don't know why they do they have chewing tobacco in
22:08
their mouth most of the time no you Oh no you watch they got sunflower seed and they spit them all out and put another
22:14
handful in spit them out oh yeah they do i just think the spit tobacco tooth
22:20
great big comes out and got I just think the like the act of like eating something keeps you up i thought about
22:25
that so I'm going to propose something on this upcoming trip that we've got oh boy way to go Evan here we go i'm going
22:33
to propose that we get a bag or two of the shelled
22:38
shelled sunflower seeds where are shelled because ours are all shelled the ones we have are shelled dshelled they
22:45
call them shelled they don't say dshelled they say shelled because a normal one is just sunflower seed but if
22:50
you want one without the shells anyways don't argue with me i won't I'm I don't want to start a trip with this okay
22:58
so we're going to try a bag or two works i can tell you we're going to try it just to verify that it's the process
23:06
of delhelling it while it's in your mouth and your tongue is going to work it will work because of the craving for
23:11
salt so I will say it will work because you're going to just want to keep more and you want to get more and you want to get more so you're it's going to work
23:17
because you're just busy so that the product itself could be it's not the process of desshelling them yeah i mean
23:23
when you That's the what we're always thinking for Evan and everybody listening is that when you're you're chewing around your teeth they pop it
23:29
and then all of a sudden you got to get that seed out with your tongue and then you eat the seed and then you spit it out and the next one procedure goes on
23:35
so you're kind of busy but you know it could be the salty and the drive for it i'm going to try it i I'm very curious
23:40
to see i just going to see one other thing before we go on this one i got a couple Don't get me started on this an
23:46
interesting topic go ahead Evan is one thing we've did and we haven't did we didn't do it last year we should do it again this year is we played the music
23:53
game and this was great we took we have a serious XM on on the trucks that we
23:59
take up and we're all in one truck let's just say and we'll take this and Steve and I were the ones that did it the most
24:06
and Angelo liked likes uh what was your station that you like there um it's got
24:11
Gordon Lightfoot and all these really the bridge the bridge angel likes the bridge steviey's a country guy so he had
24:17
a country station i have I'm a metal guy so I had Aussy's Boneyard on there and what we do is we change we we we try to
24:24
go as many we try to guess as many performers and the name of the song as
24:30
we possibly can and keep going and see how many we can actually get so we'll go on to Anga's station the bridge and we
24:36
we hide the screen the guy the passenger hides the screen and turn the screen off and then and then uh boom an What's that
24:43
song and oh that's uh the Edmonds Ferrell gordon Life easy boom we winner
24:48
we got the name of so that's one and one so we get that then we go to Steve's does the country if he gets it right go to mine and get the medal if I get it
24:55
right we just keep going and keep going for like eight hours hours like hours it actually turns into a lot of fun so if
25:01
Evan's got his you know two or three buddies with them and they all like different music or the same music doesn't matter um try that game believe
25:08
it or not that one is fun and it works you just keep going and you go "Oh no you got to 62 and you missed out." No
25:14
and and for a little break in between that we play you know I Spy with My Little Eyes that's always That's always
25:21
a big hit with the kids i love that one with my kids that was great of course the kids in the back seat are usually sleeping for the entire Oh our kids are
25:27
for sure that's why we played it right seen anything like it every now and then Dino or Va would come in with a a grunge
25:34

28:09
we're not doing that are we Dan no guest today no guest so we have any like do we have an intro musical interlude time
28:17
like can you give us maybe push hey I got it push a couple of buttons just
28:23
that's it the same ones all like how many buttons do you have there wow yeah
28:28
I know I'm living a nightmare going live is that this macho man
28:35
have you got uh uh have you got um Ric Flair
28:40
Kurt Angley Oh it's true it's damn true the audience knows what
28:47
he's gonna say that's the best part of it i miss those wrestling days man they
28:52
were so good it's just not the same anymore i tried to embrace every now and embrace one the other night and I just
28:58
couldn't just I mean they're brilliant actors and and and performers and athletes but I don't know the characters
29:06
just aren't the same yeah yeah rick Flair I mean who could have forget oh my god it was classic rowdy Rowdy Piper oh
29:13
Andre the Giant i hear Andre I hear Andre the Giant drank over 100 beers in one sitting yeah you told me that before
29:20
106 beers jeez could you imagine so what we thought we would do because uh of
29:27
budget cuts and no guests on this episode and because we're about to embark on our 40th season
29:36
that's good uh we thought maybe we'd share some of those stories with you uh we'll we'll go
29:42
through how we maybe prepare some of the changes we're going to make this year some of the dos and don'ts maybe I don't
29:50
know resolutions that we've done throughout the winter that we're not going to do this year um
29:58
some new innovative elements that we're adding to the show this year we just thought we would throw it open and just
30:04
let her go and you know what else we should do and Dean Dean this will be a big part for you because Angie and I
30:09
will forget the out of this i guarantee it but we should do a postseason which we usually do and then
30:14
compare notes and see if we had any predictions or whatever and say "You screwed up on that one Bowman." Nice
30:21
call answer no you're both idiots or whatever you know what I mean in order to do that I love the idea i I've been
30:26
wanting to do that for 30 years right in order to do that what you'd have to do
30:32
is have somebody Oh boy who is recording those special moments and earmarking
30:38
them when you produce as much stuff as we do it's hard to remember where everything
30:44
is so what most well I was just going to say other production but real production companies
30:51
do the ones that are not financially challenged as we are
30:56
okay uh they actually have staff that do that during the performance this
31:02
performance as an example there would be people behind the scenes uh with uh you
31:08
know notebooks and they're writing stuff down you know Pete said uh damn haha you
31:14
know at the 1342 mark there's a bunch of and that so problem is we spend
31:21
all our money on that you see all the budget has gone there dean had to have
31:26
the little extra box so he could put some more buttons on there cuz he's a boss he said "I'm telling you I'm a very
31:32
talented individual you give me more special effects and I will build you the
31:38
most incredible uh piece of entertainment you've ever seen." Have a fine day and get rid of that
31:43
bye well if if Dean can give us a a
31:49
comparison at the All He has to do is have some points from this podcast that we do from here on in and then that last
31:56
podcast and then say "Boys you bring your back memory did you uh did you complete this maybe we'll play some of
32:02
the stuff from today and maybe we could remember that maybe we could remember that all right all right i don't know all right who's making Is anybody out
32:09
there taking notes i've got my notepad out oh I'll bet you do i know Boba
32:15
doesn't all right so uh first of all as I mentioned uh we're about to embark on
32:20
our fourth decade of uh uh entertainment and fun on the Fishing Canada show give
32:26
me a hell yeah that deserves a hell yeah so very very surreal to me that that
32:31
it's been 40 years but uh it has yeah for sure so it's a it's not it's obviously a very special season for us a
32:40
milestone in production for sure and certainly in the fishing industry without question um and so we'd like to
32:47
throw a couple of things out to you that we are going to try I I personally have a challenge for everybody this year and
32:56
we've talked about it on the show i I think a couple of months ago we were at the sportsman show in Toronto and a
33:02
gentleman came up to me and uh sat down in one of our lovely chairs in the set
33:07
and uh he said "Angelo?" He says "That's the way he talked to." I thought you
33:12
were doing a Boba M no he sounded like him Angelo he says "Uh my name's Rob
33:17
Evans or whatever his name is." I don't remember not that I just don't remember anything not just his name i don't
33:23
remember i barely remember the story I'm telling you right now i'm reading it on here so so anyways he says "I've been
33:30
watching your show since I can remember and um I love what you guys do but I
33:36
really love the fact that you know you share with us some uh some real insights
33:42
on um uh boat safety for example on uh
33:47
you know conservation um like all this wonderful stuff." And I got to be honest with you
33:54
uh you know you told me on the show years ago that every time I go out in
34:00
the water on a boat I should be wearing my life jacket and you know a couple of
34:06
years into that I I bought in and uh I would never dream of going on the water
34:15
or have anybody around me that's on the water with me not wearing a life jacket so I want to thank you for that is but
34:22
before you did that you uh taught us all that we need to have a more conservation-minded approach to fishing
34:28
because you know if we continually harvest everything that we come in contact with well eventually we're going
34:34
to deplete the resource and then what and so you you taught us and he had the
34:40
remember the old catcher limit limit you catch right says you started with that and that that sunk into my head uh over
34:47
30 years ago and you know it took me a while well I'll admit he said "It did take me a while to to embrace it but now
34:54
I got to tell you I release 100% of my fish and I want to thank you
35:00
for that." Wow right so he's given me all this stuff and he said "Now going
35:08
back to the life jacket thing I remember when you were doing the radio show that you used to say that the only way that
35:14
we're ever going to get it through our thick heads that we should wear life jackets on the boat at all time is if the government would mandate it which
35:22
they didn't do." So I have a question for you if you believe that we should be releasing all
35:29
of our fish or at least have a more conservation conservational approach to
35:34
fishing can I please ask you to start talking about having no barbs on your
35:41
hooks cuz he you know you're telling us to release fish and we bought in we're going to release fish oh that's what he
35:47
said to you okay wouldn't it make sense if we all went barbless because we're going to release
35:54
anyways people who who follow your program they're in tune with it now
36:00
we're going to release most of the fish so why don't you start preaching
36:06
barbless hooks on our baits and you know it came out of left field i mean we were
36:11
there bopping around and talking to folks and different stories and you know all the excitement of being at these
36:17
wonderful uh shows like the Toronto sportsman show etc and this one kind of hit me right in the scrotum because they
36:24
came out of left field they came out of left field the knackers I was completely
36:30
taken back and it you know I recovered in about two seconds i was able to
36:36
That's a pretty good plum recovery i'll tell you that cuz I tell you knock to those things knock to the nads well
36:41
especially mine i have to I tell you I have to tuck them in my socks now otherwise step on the damn things one of
36:47
the problems we're getting older obviously everything starts going for a but but if you wear those knee high
36:53
socks especially uh but not too tight and you get that real tight elastic you
36:58
starting your dog exactly no but all kidding aside it it took me a
37:04
couple of seconds but it dawned on me you six son of a it dawned on
37:10
me that this guy was on to something right like think about it we preach safe
37:17
boating you must wear your life jack in fact anybody who knows that works for this company you don't go near a boat
37:24
without it and any guests that we have out on location on shoots etc you don't go anywhere near us on a boat with our
37:30
life jacket so we've gone that far to self-impose and self-inforce
37:35
and he's saying "Why don't you do the same with barbless hooks?" And I thought "You know
37:42
what this guy might be on to something." And so I said to him I'll
37:49
tell you what I'm going to make a commitment to you right now obviously I have to speak to the other folks that
37:55
are involved in this but I personally am going to try and preach barbless hook
38:03
fishing in our 40th year which we're about to embark on and produce so I'm
38:09
going to make a commitment right now that I am going to be cognizant of that
38:17
that comment i am going to try and fish with barbless hooks as often as I can i
38:24
can't guarantee it's going to happen 100% of the time because sometimes happens out there and you're oh god you know you got to grab another bait and
38:30
you got to so easy to forget but it is I would like to challenge uh
38:37
ourselves and maybe uh you know how you have the dollar jar you put a dollar
38:42
every time you swear well we couldn't do that on the boat cuz it couldn't make a jar big enough so forget that sink
38:49
but but could we maybe put something together like that on the barbless every
38:56
time we catch somebody within our group fishing with a barbed hook they have to
39:02
do something do anything you want what do you think you agree that barbless hook
39:09
fishing would be much better right that's you have to He's talking because
39:14
he's converted he's like uh no he's converted to 100% catch and release he's or catch and release i'm with those
39:21
people that want to catch and keep you got to let them have the bar okay but it it's it's in keeping with catch your
39:27
limit but limit your catch you want to consume a fish or four or whatever for
39:35
your family eight fish no yeah but I also don't want to condone people who hoard fish under the uh opices of oh
39:43
yeah I eat them well a year later they emptied this the their seller cooler
39:50
outl but you know what if you want to consume a a fresh fish or two now and then why not hell hell yeah so when
39:57
you're going out to consume um to to catch fish for the table then maybe you
40:03
know if you want to but here's the thing and I asked you this on the mic
40:10
before do you honestly look into whatever camera you want to look into look into your peep's eyes okay and you
40:18
tell them that you are 100% convinced that you will lose more fish if you
40:26
don't have a barb on your hook which one do you want me to say i don't care you got three of them there look at anyone
40:31
you want i think myself 100% that I will
40:36
lose more fish barbless than I would with barbs 100% not all fish but I will lose more without barbs than with barbs
40:44
okay i I I think that myself all right so let's go with that for just a moment if you like i don't believe that by the
40:51
way not one minute and I'll tell you why because you will compensate i know you you will compensate for the lack of a
40:57
barb on your hooks i know you you it may take you you know a couple of days but I
41:02
know you well enough that you will compensate for that and you will do other things to ensure that you're able
41:08
to bring the fish to the boat say "Haha look at me another nice beautiful fish do you want to take a picture of me?"
41:13
And then you put it in the water i know you that's right i would so at the end of the season I think you're going to be
41:19
batting the same number your average for the year okay so I'm not buying it they may they may they may buy it i don't
41:26
care i don't buy it okay but now and now I want you to be honest
41:32
again boy this is an honesty i don't know if I can do it two times i want you to be honest again during the course of
41:37
the year yes where we will be in contact with I don't know can we conservatively
41:43
say hundreds of fish at the end of the year we've made contact with hundreds of fish yeah I think so i think so and we
41:51
for the most part with the odd exception release all those fish oh we do almost all of them right the odd exception if
41:57
we're having a shortage then we'll And even then we don't sometimes we don't do it
42:02
okay would you agree with me that a 100%
42:08
of those fish that we are going to be releasing this year will stand a much better chance of
42:15
survival if we caught them with a barbless hook versus a barbed hook yes I
42:21
agree with that your honor I arrest my case i agree with that so if you're not going to be keeping
42:28
fish so here let's throw the if if you're going to go out because you want to bring fish back for the family you
42:33
want to consume fish I'm fine with that if you're going or if you're fishing a
42:39
tournament where every ounce is worth dollars and this is what you do for a living I'll even give you that one i
42:46
probably shouldn't but I will give you that one but if you're going out like us that's a barbless tournament i would I
42:52
will that's huge if you're going to go out just recreationally and spend some time with
43:00
your buddy on the boat or your family members or just on an adventure in the outback and and you know you want to
43:06
spend some time fishing and you're going to release all the fish wouldn't it make sense now that this guy touched me at
43:14
the sportsman show wouldn't it make sense that we do it with barbless hooks hey listen this is Dean am I right this
43:20
is the last jurisdiction in the country that doesn't have some sort of barbless hook uh you know do we not have any do
43:26
we not have any i don't think so specific rivers maybe i think some fly fishing areas in Ontario fergus and that
43:33
maybe yeah Grand has some some barb barbless i know they have fly fishing only but I don't think there's a
43:40
barbless regulation in this province it might be a single hook regulation you could be right single hook definitely
43:45
right but not barbless we have not taken now Manitoba's done a really good job i
43:51
know BC forever have been have been pushing for bar i think every jurisdiction and this Nova Scotia New
43:56
Brunswick both have a lot they're all barbless nova Scotia New Brunswick they got it all figured out way before us and yet we are dragging our feet on this
44:03
thing and if it's true if we're not lying to ourselves that we're not going out to annihilate everything we we make
44:09
contact with we're just going out to have a little bit of fun then wouldn't it make sense for us to take all the
44:15
precautions to make that happen let her happen let's get it let's get it done for the whole province i think we should
44:21
i think we should lead the way i think we should we should you know uh I'm not saying we will guarantee you 100% that
44:28
it's going to happen but if we challenge each other and all the other co-hosts on the show and there was some kind of
44:34
penalty we just need to come up with something right no cigars you have to throw your cigar over buddy oh come on
44:40
now kill that would kill you for a ton you
44:45
throw the tonies like crazy do they even have tunies anymore of course they're still around i don't know i haven't seen
44:51
anything metal he's such a high roller bastard well you know you have money when
45:00
uh I was looking for a quarter today i went to uh Faucet Motors by the way big shout out to my friends at Faucet Motor
45:07
Carriage in Whitby Ontario they're working on my little baby and I went over today to uh approve something
45:13
they're painting a a a pinstripe thing on my car and uh the old way of uh uh
45:19
rounding the corners for this particular pattern of pinstriping was to use quarters you used you put a quarter down
45:26
and then you you use that as your template right do you know we could not find a quarter they have like 10 people
45:32
working there and nobody had a quarter on the whole plan so anyway that's freaking hilarious so what do you think
45:38
Mr bowman well we're going to go barbless this year we'll try it it's not going to kill us that's for sure i think it would be I think it would be a
45:44
challenge for us a new challenge for sure challenge it's going to be a ch certain fish it might not be a challenge really like a walleye or something like
45:50
that it might not be such a big deal small mouth jumping yeah you're going to have definitely have some issues on that
45:55
but but you know I think it'd be fun what else we got we got depends on the on the species more the lakers could be
46:01
tough lakers could be tough yeah going to be deep and they're going to be Yeah but once you set the hook up as you're
46:07
fishing vertically for those fish I mean as long as everything little skinny bastards though they they like to slack
46:12
line you they can slack you pretty quick but wouldn't that be exciting it would add a
46:18
whole new element now when we've got a fish on and we're fighting to fish uh we've all got to be holding our breaths
46:24
the audience us on the boat because we know we're barbless that that there is a chance that if we slip in the smallest
46:31
way if we're off our game in the smallest way you know chances of landing that fish are probably not as good right
46:38
as we're going through the shoots here we can we can evaluate how we're going to how we're going to do maybe we'll see yeah we'll talk about it we got we got a
46:44
10-hour drive coming up here uh very shortly we'll elaborate on that i know I
46:49
just threw it out there to everybody but uh we're going to do our best to try and promote barbless hook fishing uh as best
46:57
we can and it'll be you know right out of the shoot nobody's ever done it on a on a television program and I think
47:05
we're going to make it happen all right come on now there you go your buddy will be happy your buddy there oh
47:11
I hope he watch i don't know oh he'll watch yeah he'll he'll be sending us gonna be bragging to everybody that's my
47:18
That's my idea uh we're going to also uh do a lot of
47:24
reminiscing on the episodes this year because being our 40th obviously there is so much heritage within the Fishing
47:31
Canada uh brand and culture that we want to try and reach back on as many of
47:36
those special moments it's just great memories to go you know what I mean just so many of them it's unreal oh my god uh
47:42
so uh each episode will be full of those moments that uh a lot of them you and I
47:49
have have forgotten i'm sure the editors will find uh Yeah that'd be nice to reminisce on that stuff uh we're going
47:55
to be visiting some of those uh places again after years uh having not been
48:01
there um which I'm looking forward to some places we haven't been at all a couple
48:07
little bit of everything yeah uh we will be going coast to coast as usual uh actually BC is not confirmed yet right
48:13
Dean so it's in the works it's in the works so uh we will attempt to make our 40th truly a national um series where we
48:23
will representing every part of this wonderful incredible uh country that we so often take say
48:32
that to everybody listening that are of all the provinces we're not avoiding any provinces okay we are not it's if
48:39
tourism wants to work with us is basically what it is so when tourism works with us we get to go to your province basically but you know and now
48:45
I I listen to that and I say "Well why what's tourism got to do with it you're not you don't have to check with anybody
48:51
to go fishing do you?" Well it I would think it's all comes down to funding and Madame Tangay would shoot us if we went
48:58
out there without Hence the cutbacks and the no more 50 buckaroos for people who were nice enough to send us a thing
49:04
exactly so we want to get back into that then we have to raise some funds that's all that's it that's it uh what are you
49:13
looking forward to most this year what part of this year is always the same for me you know we we go through the the
49:20
long winter and uh then all of a sudden as we get close to the beginning of the
49:25
production cycle that anticipation finally hits its peak and you can't wait
49:30
can't wait to get back out there even though you killed yourself last year on the road you know so so many days and
49:36
nights on the road but now this is that special time of year where like you're opening day opening day that's what it
49:42
is right you waited all winter out for me I mean the new lakes that we're going to that we've never been to I always
49:48
like fishing new lakes it's so nice to go to new camps new lodges new lakes whatever you know all part of it the
49:54
species list pretty much is the same but when you go to a new lake and you're
50:00
going for lake trout uh on Pipstone Lake or something like that it's just a whole new world it's like it's like starting
50:06
from nothing again you know what I mean so and and and I'm always I'm a big fan
50:11
of this bringing electronics into the game so I'm I just want to carry on from last year where we left off i did a lot
50:17
this spring already scratched the surface last year I think so much fun in fact so much so I think there's an
50:23
actual episode Dean correct me if I'm wrong one of the episodes this year will be devoted entirely to electronics right
50:30
we're going all the way back in the archive with like the paper graphs and everything we're going to look at everything so So we're going to Yeah
50:37
it's good to be I'm looking forward to that i was actually even watching cuz we're about to head to Hawk Lake yeah and I was watching the last time you
50:43
guys were at Hawk Lake which was not that long ago i think 2021 or 22 and the way you guys were fishing with Liv Scope
50:50
has evolved insanely since then like you guys were barely using it we barely You're right we got our fish with
50:56
Sidefinder i remember the first the first big one we got you and I both we cast out the hands over there we got it
51:02
8 pounder and all that stuff so we didn't even utilize the loop the way we should have three years ago yeah no it
51:07
was more than that wasn't it i think it was three years ago 22 was our first shoot no it was not your first shoot oh
51:13
okay okay are you saying that was the last time we shot there the last time you shot it three years ago have you
51:19
shot there Bob uh Hawk Lake no he's never been and neither have I okay so you've been here
51:26
three years so I'll bet you it was more than I bet it was four years ago yeah maybe yeah you've been here more than three i was I got hired the week before
51:33
you left for that shoot i I remember that so yeah four years it'll be fun Hawk going to be fun for sure oh my god
51:41
those giant walleye are going to show up so nice bottle dolphins you know that
51:46
narrow between the bottom part of the lake where Teddy likes to fish uh every night i'm dying to turn
51:54
on our lights in there oh my god it's going to be insane there's so many just
52:00
like that lake alone so many places uh we're also going to be employing uh or deploying I guess it would be called uh
52:06
some new underwater uh technology what are we doing there we're looking at a new underwater uh
52:14
camera wow well look at you guys i don't know much about it uh the uh production
52:20
folks just let me in on it the other day nice apparently we'll have 360°
52:26
capabilities down there that's what you need yeah that's what you you definitely need so and good clarity but cool um
52:34
cool yeah i don't know what else i mean looking forward to it's hard to you know
52:39
what I mean it's just I don't know just fishing getting out with the boys and having fun you know having the shore
52:45
lunches or lunch breaks on the boat and not just the fishing part of it it's everything else the odd cigar you know
52:50
we're just we have we have fun out there we we try to make this the best out of our long days on the water so and most
52:56
people might think that now that you say that you know that we we listen that's
53:02
what we do for a living right we go out and we fish and we film it and they package it and they put it on TV and you
53:08
watch it right so we not that we have been doing it for so
53:13
long that we're kind of jaded and we we we know we're going to enjoy that part and we know we're going to be able to
53:21
and we had that confidence plays a huge part of what we do because uh we put it on the line every single season and we
53:28
go out there and we we roll the dice on the fact that we're going to be able to put together good quality fish catching
53:35
entertainment for you but Pete just fetch you something and for me I don't know for him how strongly he feels about
53:41
but for me honestly although I enjoy the fishing part don't get me wrong we're going to get some fantastic stuff on
53:47
tape this year but you're right it's about the journey I you know all the things that happen along the way all the
53:53
things that happened there all the little stories that we'll be telling a year from now about those events i mean
54:00
that's what I'm really looking forward to um there's a couple of shoots that uh
54:05
Dean and I were talking about uh just uh today or yesterday one of the um Nova
54:13
Scotia shoots the tuna we're doing uh we're back we're back doing tuna after a
54:18
number of years uh we've been absent from it but this time it's going to involve uh steaming
54:26
overnight offshore because the fish will be like out there wow and so you start
54:35
in the afternoon and you go all night long and then by the morning you're onto the that's where you're fishing in the
54:41
morning well it's like the Norwetta like the Norwetta except I don't think these boats are going to be quite as comfy as
54:47
the old You're going to be wet all all day long probably and uh uh for you and
54:53
me it's probably not as big a deal one of my concerns on that shoot is going to be the health and well-being of our
54:59
seasickness our people for sure uh because we were told that uh it'll be a
55:06
it'll be a challenge so I'm nervous about that one lots of lots of grab all
55:14
boys i've always been okay but it's it's a mental game so it's a mental game and
55:19
and the second you let it get it into your one time i don't know if you were with me uh it was in
55:26
Hawaii the Toronto Star yeah I wasn't on that one i remember something other had a big event for their salmon derby and
55:33
all the winners uh went on in a tournament uh off of one of the Hawaiian islands can't remember which one and uh
55:42
there were big seas out there man they were big seas and there was like I don't know 10 or 12 seasoned veterans anglers
55:51
you know these are charter boat they make a living uh fishing out in the Great Lakes right 12 of those guys on
55:58
the boat and out of the 12 13 were throwing up
56:05
so and I'm very fortunate i'm totally immune to that stuff but after a while watching all of these
56:12
guys throwing up like you know and I know a couple of them they they were born on bad water and and raised on in
56:20
in bad water and I'm watching them woofing their cookies i let it get it into my head of course and for a moment
56:28
for just a moment I let it enter and I'm starting to get gas up thinking "What
56:34
in?" So I had the uh wherewithal to run up to the very top of the front of this
56:42
big beautiful boat that we were fishing off and just sat there into the wind
56:48
cross-legged on the bow of the boat and I just stared Why didn't they cancel the day if everybody's It's that bad out
56:53
there everybody's puking once in a lifetime it's it's it's it's the only day on the water and it's I'd pay not to
56:59
do that yeah you remember God bless him John Powers who was like guru in this
57:06
area he was a journalist for the Toronto Star a seasoned veteran when it comes to
57:12
angling he was woofing it up like a little kid who's just barfing up his
57:17
lunch you know what I mean oh my god it was just awful oh my god just a Anyways
57:23
I know I learned then that you cannot let it into your head yeah and I know
57:29
we're probably not doing these guys any good by talking about it so you and I
57:34
because thank God we're kind of immune to it we are going to have to refrain
57:39
from mentioning it anytime the boys don't worry boys I'll guide you because I am not immune to it
57:47
i doesn't take any stuff i've never seen you but I always take grab all i always do whatever i used to put the patches on
57:53
oh yeah i used to do it all the time i did it just in case i just said piss on wow i did all these years i never do
57:58
that hell yeah but I would not go in that ocean without doing that just in case i never knew that yeah I'm not we
58:04
took it on uh in Nova Scotia last year even on the Minus Basin i think we even took some on the boat just in case did
58:11
we i I don't think I did maybe you guys we had it on the boat it wasn't bad that wasn't a bad one
58:16
really we knew it was going to be bad this coming shoot because the folks that we were on the uh the Zoom call with
58:22
from uh uh the East Coast and you know we're trying to put together the logistics and stuff and and I'm saying
58:28
yeah you know we really uh we'll drag down uh one or two of our boats you know so that we have uh and
58:36
the guy what do you say Dean um is is that the boat you use on the show every week yeah i said yeah hell yeah i
58:43
thought he was going to say "Wow nice boat." Thanks R is you might not want to
58:48
bring that down here for this he says "What do you what do you call it not rustic." He says "It's uh like the word
58:55
rustic." Um tumultuous or something like that something he says "These waters you've
59:01
never had that boat in trust me." Uh and you're going to overnight in it too i
59:06
think No I thought we I'd sort of you know boast that you know we were going to bring our boat so we could So nice
59:13
wide shots you know at this point you might want to leave
59:19
that where we're going no you don't want to do that ah god it'll be fun i look
59:24
I'm looking forward to it you know what I'm going to do if the opportunity arises and this is another one of those
59:30
things we can mark down i I've told you the story Pete was there where I strapped myself in the tuna chair at the
59:36
back of the boat what during one of probably one of the roughest Well everybody was on the floor in the fetal position remember the the the last shoot
59:43
we went down for tuna our both camera people were I was I was your cameraman yeah exactly and I went
59:51
and sat on that the chair at the back of the boat the tuda chair because I was
59:56
looking at it from inside the cabin i said "Man the surge the power that those
1:00:02
waves are bashing the back of this boat with I got to go feel them." And I went back and sat in that chair and strapped
1:00:07
myself in it was great it was outstanding it just beat the hell out of me but what a rush what a rush anyways
1:00:15
I'm going to do it again if we get a chance right on so right on this episode is brought to you by Angller's

1:00:39
anglersleerboard.com oh I'm looking forward to it it's going to be uh some uh some very interesting We're into into
1:00:45
Quebec this year quebec's going to be awesome too i think you know what I mean depending on if we get the two lodges
1:00:50
that we're trying to get on to um I think that's going to be a real fun multiecies again um shoot you know what
1:00:57
I mean it's kind of you get your pick of what you want in the one place for sure i don't know if we wanted to mention any names i think we should because there's
1:01:04
an interesting story behind this yeah bo Shane is the one I'm saying right now they got you get the pick of the letter for for species we'll be able to bring
1:01:11
our Princecraft down they are Princecraft sponsored lodge which is fantastic because we never ever see that
1:01:16
so it's that's a great thing for us just to see all Princecrafts there and then you got a species list that's beyond
1:01:23
with I don't know how many 60 lakes they got or 80 lakes or something like that and we can use our big boat on some of the lakes and then other lakes you got
1:01:29
to take these little smaller boats in or whatever canoe in or whatever it is so they got so many different opportunities
1:01:34
there so opposite of the the east coast fishing that we're going to be doing
1:01:39
yeah yeah the biggest water will be in our boat and it won't be bad and any any of those the big Bane Lake will be the
1:01:45
biggest one and it's you can find something to hide in all the time in there right so it's legendary Bane uh
1:01:52
we've only shot what two times i think I've been there once once or twice once I think for me once uh we Roland and I
1:02:00
shot there one time yeah roland was there yeah um it's legendary in in the province of
1:02:07
Quebec it is Mecca if you go to Bchain like you you It's their money maker
1:02:13
right and it's their it's their most popular lodge I think anyways but it's the other one I'm more interested in um
1:02:21
um Tiger Bay tiger Bay on Kippo because we heard one story a few years ago about
1:02:28
that lake that it was hurting bad right
1:02:34
we only thought we only hear about walleye we only heard about walley small fish and and yeah there's
1:02:41
some fish but they're small and this is from a guy who's got a big piece of property on that lake and and seems to
1:02:48
know his fishing mhm and so then a few weeks ago on this very lake or in this
1:02:54
very uh podcast we had the happy camper on uh Kevin was telling us about his
1:03:01
latest adventures and and in fact he had spent some time on this lake that year
1:03:07
and he said "My god," he said "The fishing is just incredible huge huge smallmouth
1:03:14
bass big walleye like totally opposite of what we heard." So we're going in uh
1:03:20
not knowing exactly what is going to happen on that shoot i'm looking forward to that for sure that'll be a fun one that's again this is a lot these are
1:03:26
places that we haven't hit some of them right so I always look forward to that kind of stuff so and learn you learn a
1:03:32
lot by doing that right so we're going to have new underwater cameras so hopefully some wonderful images below the surface we're going to be a year uh
1:03:39
better on using our electronics and we're going to be able to use them in some incredible legendary lakes so we'll
1:03:47
get some just a the picture we will get of the uh health of the fishery in most
1:03:54
of these lakes thanks to the uh units the Garmin units it's going to be incredible incredible uh we're going to
1:04:02
throw back on some of these places we're going to for for you know Lodge 88 for example comes
1:04:08
to mind where we've been there over the 40 years we've been there a lot well we got to do Lodge 88 i don't know how many
1:04:14
times we've been there but it's never been the same from the first shoot we went to it was so damn good like it
1:04:22
spoiled us i mean it's always good but it was so good that and
1:04:27
and we caught the fish 300 200 yards from the lodge like it was just ridiculous how many big active walleye
1:04:35
we got onto there dave Mlacklin thanked us uh for the next couple of years the owner of the lodge because uh he was
1:04:41
able to save so much fuel that season because nobody was going to the opposite
1:04:46
end of the lake they were all lined up taking a number to to fish this one little drip that we found right in front
1:04:51
of the Great oh my god in front of the lodge so if we could match that one oh my god could you imagine oh it's never
1:04:58
been duplicated for us but but it's there no it's there there's there giants there too so now is Live Scope going to
1:05:04
help us if we go to that spot that particular spot you're talking about yeah because I'll tell you why it's going to help us because I you know as
1:05:11
well as I I have a bad memory but there's certain things I have a really good memory for and we were picking those girls off with traditional
1:05:18
remember and it was shallow 8 ft of water and they rose up off the bottom of the evening and we started seeing these hooks and oh my god and you started
1:05:24
dropshotting them lifting your baiton dunk and we just started cracking them so if it was ever if that spot ever
1:05:30
turns on again we'll see them on scope for sure we should we could sit out just a little ways out from it and we'll
1:05:36
scope it and we'll see them we'll know exactly where they are now yeah for sure wow we were drifting right over them 8
1:05:42
ft of water right below the boat oh my god it was incredible big walley huge water so uh yeah uh we got a
1:05:51
lot to be thankful for for this year we we certainly are excited about the uh the schedule it's going to be very
1:05:57
ambitious we will some of these uh journeys will see us away from home for
1:06:03
you know up to almost 3 weeks at a time uh back for a few days and gone again for another couple of weeks back on tour
1:06:11
yeah why don't you do something like that Dean like set us up when we go to these places and uh tell people that
1:06:18
we're going to be there maybe have like a party or two um on a few of those last
1:06:24
year yeah we did we did uh New Brunswick new Brunswick oh we did too we did Nova Scotia but you were you missed that one
1:06:29
you would have you would have loved that yeah yeah we had live music and everything live music and any of that
1:06:35
this year oh yeah well we'll set it up it'll happen all right all right uh anybody anything else I'm missing out
1:06:42
are we No I think we covered pretty much uh hopefully a stay with us what do we what what have we got out of this so we
1:06:48
are going to attempt to go barbless barbless on the Fishing Canada show for
1:06:53
the first time ever life jackets and barbless life jackets barbless boom done
1:06:59
that's in the And and it'll be a penalty for any of us that uh uh break that barb up barb up thing all we have to do is
1:07:07
pinch them we don't have to cut our hooks no you're not pinch them pinch them uh and uh we're going to we're
1:07:13
we're waiting pending notification but we uh will be coast to coast this year
1:07:20
i shouldn't say that newfaland once again didn't make it and that's uh unfortunate yes we did try we did try we
1:07:26
did try yeah we were close that that one that we Was that the one that Joe
1:07:32
Anthony was putting together for us lab Yeah Labrador right yeah oh my god we got to We got to see if we can get that
1:07:37
together and make it happen yeah we'll work on that for next year yep uh that
1:07:43
