all things Power Sports boats and equipment and sail the ultimate
0:31
destination for your Outdoor Adventures well hello there thank you
0:36
for joining us once again I'm Angela Viola he is Peter Bowman hi there Peter I what's the middle initial G I should
0:44
have known G is for gorgeous remember Freddy G sford Freddy G sford for great
0:49
speaking of uh did you hear what happened to uh Hulk Hogan recently I saw
0:55
this did you see surprising I I was shocked I was shocked well they had a
1:00
big to-do on H for those of you who watch WWE on Netflix give me a hell yeah
1:06
yeah that boy watches it on their debut uh they had you know the usual Big Fan Fair and stuff and uh and the hulkster
1:13
was brought in to do a promo they booed him off the stage apparently now Dean
1:19
you saw that how bad was it I just saw the highlights of it so I saw what you saw it was pretty bad like everyone in
1:24
this like everyone booed I don't know what happened yeah I mean it wasn't just your typical w we booing for the bad guy
1:31
or good you know cheering for the good there was something there that the Vince McMahon documentary
1:39
that came out a while ago apparently he was in that and didn't look very good in that documentary well he backed Vince
1:46
was that what he did I didn't see yeah I saw that and and uh you know he he he was a supporter um through it I don't
1:53
know whether that would have been I don't know but I the whole point of that I don't even know why I'm bringing it up other than the fact that obviously watch
2:00
weight too much WWE um they've never turned against him like
2:06
for real you know what I mean but that was part of the part of the stick right and he a bunch of good
2:13
guys but he was uh wow oh my God see I I told you this before I've never been a fan of Paul Hogan never not as a kid the
2:21
vitamins and the kids and all that you don't go I just he was one of those guys I just did not care I always wanted to
2:27
see him get beat and stuff like that so I don't know why anyway I I hate to see that because he's an iconic figure in
2:34
there's no doubt about it he is and he put Vince where he is he helped put Vince where he is you know what I mean you the actors in there so no doubt
2:40
about it character anyways I I don't know why I brought that up other than the hster the whole Comm Maniacs are
2:47
hating them what a wonderful and you know maybe I brought it up because I've already read normally we don't do this
2:53
by the way for for those of you who watch regularly you know that most of the stuff that Dean gives us we like to
2:59
keep it fresh meaning that we very seldom read through it so that when we're actually confronted with say the
3:05
question of the week or or any comments that you might have we deal with them
3:10
it's fresh right we deal with them the way we would deal with them if we were in person but I happened to read in
3:17
advance today uh what that letter was and maybe that's what prompted me to think because in essence that's
3:25
happening right now to us unbeknownst us with this one particular author of The
3:30
Letter we'll get to that in a moment good point uh but it it it it prompted us to thinking this episode today is
3:36
going to deal with something that maybe a lot of folks out there are curious to find out exactly how it works and that
3:43
is what goes into you know we do these wonderful uh fishing caned episodes every year um but
3:51
only to some some don't think they're that wonderful anymore not everybody you hear this letter it's a good one uh so
3:57
we're going to kind of dissect that today on this program what goes into the episode and I'm not just talking about
4:04
the you know 5 days in the field and the uh 72 hours of post- production and the
4:10
number of people that work on each episode but what goes into actually setting them up there's a lot more to it
4:15
than people would probably think they they might you know I imagine there's a lot but to hear it uh and we we're just
4:21
going to wing it as much as we can we some stuff written down but we we're as good as anybody to wing it with this stuff right so if we remind each other
4:28
of should be a episode don't go away but first I have to talk to you about this
4:33
lovely garment that I have on you got another one there I don't think I've seen you wear this one yet no this is
4:39
the first that's my favorite colored one that one now favorite in the the color of the hoodie not necessarily the
4:46
graphics right correct the hoodie but but the graphics look very good with it they look good on it they look but this
4:51
is our uh shinook um tea or no hoodie
4:56
prepared for a different one you were prepared for a different one yeah
5:01
I thought that was your favorite well okay I'm we if you could roll back time which I know you can if you could roll
5:07
back time I came on this very show heavy metal prior to this uh uh hoodie being
5:15
released to the public and I made a prediction that it was going to be our number one seller you did and it is and
5:22
guess what it is it's pretty orange there it's not orange no no it's not Orange it's it's it's a camel uh
5:30
carel carel carel that's car car karma camel Karma camel anyways it's our
5:36
number one selling hoodie uh and uh not sure whether it's because of the color of the hoodie because apparently that's
5:42
not the color but uh or whether it's the old Peck roll the old Walley whatever it
5:49
is it's out selling every other hoodie Square Bill crankbait too I see I didn't
5:54
notice that before oh boy that guy's good I've already got that one uh there is an ongoing sale there now all you
6:00
have to do is go to fishing canada.com go to the store and you get a little deal on these new ones is there a little
6:06
bit of a sale on these new stuff there's a sale going on right now everything yeah you buy this you get that or you
6:11
get that get this and then if you get that this and over here you get you get
6:16
the other so it's all happening you got to get the other on shop. fishing
6:22
canada.com yeah baby for all your goodies and yes the mail is back in business so I think we're up and running
6:29
I think we all caught up so everything is good in the world as they say how
6:34
about in your television station now Saturday mornings at 8:00 what's happening there same thing it's happened
6:40
there for the last 39 years my friend give me a hell yeah 39 years I I I say
6:46
that and it it still it hasn't sunk in it's resonating that you know the the
6:52
series that's on television right now on global television network on Sportsman's channel on wfn and all the other
6:59
multitude of uh independent stations that air the and on YouTube as well on YouTube I just got word that we now have
7:06
put up our first 4K and it looks good have you seen it yeah my monitor's only
7:12
2K looks really good in 2K I have 4K monitor in my office and you got that
7:17
hoodie and you got that hoodie and you got everything you might want to watch it
7:23
it's look it looks outstanding on does it really look it's nice like it's just you know how YouTube is kind of shitty
7:28
grainy whatever beautiful you're going to love it all right there you go so you can now watch episodes of the fishing
7:34
Canada show in 4k starting uh uh today come on now just I just got word in my
7:41
office today today so but there you go but if you're watching on TV like most
7:46
of us do uh that's global television network 8:00 Saturday mornings Coast to Coast to Coast with the exception of the
7:52
Left Coast because those folks cannot get up early in the morning we tried God only knows we tried but they what I
7:59
think they're smarter than us that's all I don't know about that they'll sleep in a little bit and you know but in the
8:05
west coast of Canada BC and Alberta you can watch the program at 10: and 10:30
8:11
respectively and uh and then go back to bed if you have to have a nap before noon I don't know I had a nap the other
8:19
did I tell you come on did I tell you you know you're getting old when you you
8:25
said that three times in the last hour you said the hall sex thing you said something else and now you're doing this
8:30
one three three times I had a 20 minute nap the other day and I got to tell you it was the most pleasurable thing yeah
8:37
and getting up afterwards is I jumped up I was ready to go wow see that always kills me I always feel so
8:43
groggy after nap I'm good I think I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to play the old man pretty good I think because
8:50
I can the napping thing you got to get a nice Lazy Boy in your office over there or something like that or a c or
8:55
something like that well we have a beautiful leather couch right here in the podcast hear your snor while we're here and the back maybe in the back you
9:04
get the new heater going in there all that heat and that nice noise in the machine you know that could work uh
9:09
where was I Mr Bowman how about listener feedback okay this is a good one this and you know what we're going to do here
9:16
just because humble hbre humble ombre humble
9:21
ombre I guess you pronounce it sure uh wrote in kind of a nasty email I'm going
9:26
to read it verbatim first and then I'm going to let kind of pick away at it now you say he wrote in you mean on YouTube
9:33
so he comment yeah this is a YouTube comment this is a YouTube comment comment all right so he actually so people can see this on YouTube yeah so
9:40
they can actually go and read this just the way Mr Bowman is going to read it Y correct beautiful that's all I wanted to
9:46
know yeah and I just want to I mean we're we're just you know we got we took a shot in the face here so we're going
9:51
to give one back and by the way can I just add one thing because I when I first saw this I asked Dean what the
9:59
motivating factor was in this and he said well today's subject the show it has a lot to do with it but more
10:05
importantly he says because I did tell him at one point I might have even done it here on the podcast I said enough
10:12
with these you know Kumbaya moments with these letters and love letters and all give us some some negative stuff I want
10:18
to get I've been waiting for one like this and so he decided today would be the day that he does it because and just
10:25
to elaborate on what Ang just said when I was reading this ahead of time I just took a quick glance just sitting there and I said I don't know Dean it might
10:32
not be good for the lodge here and all that stuff and he say well and just asked for some negative stuff I said okay we'll bring him in and see what he
10:37
thinks and we all said yeah you know what let's read it so it's real it's real so here we go here we go a little
10:43
drum roll ver drum roll verbatim here's a drum that's the worst drum roll I've ever had no I
10:49
wanted to long I know what you're looking for you don't have that okay quote this is from what's his name man I
10:56
got to go back and Page humble ombre Umble ombre okay humble ombre thank you for writing in
11:03
you thank for coming quote I looked up this Nordic Point Place me dot dot
11:10
dot I remembers why I stopped watching this show these guys just took expensive
11:16
and all-inclusive free vacations it is 20 hours drive from Toronto the cost is
11:23
so high that you must call a special person to talk about your trip this was no longer a fishing show
11:31
it became an advertising agent for the most expensive highly pampered pretend
11:37
fishing vacation I'll bet if you insist on a type of fish they'd build a netted
11:44
area and stock it for your stay this show went from exciting and fun to
11:49
vacations of the Rich and boring there you go oh my I remembers I remembers
11:55
when too all right humble let's let's uh let's dissect this pie uh humble hbre humble hbre ombre
12:03
hbre ombre all right so first of all uh he's assuming we're assuming that he just watched the Nordic Point uh Place
12:10
Lodge show which just aired recently on the fishing Canada Tel that's the one who commented right Dean is that where
12:17
he commented yes and uh which is also available in 4k if I didn't say that
12:22
sooner on YouTube where he obviously watched it was on YouTube so he saw the
12:27
beautiful 4K version of this and he says now he remembers why he stopped watching
12:35
this show meaning the fishing Canada show so he had forgotten somewhere along the line we offended him and uh and he
12:41
had forgotten that offend offensive act whatever offend him back then and so he
12:48
somehow stumbled onto the show once again which we appreciate by the way yeah he says oh shits me I'll start
12:54
watching it again that's what he's saying right me I just going to start watching it give in case I was wrong the last night
12:59
okay so he started watching it again and so he watched it and now he's saying
13:05
that um all we do is take expensive free
13:11
vacations is that right so far that's beautiful I I love expensive free vacations okay wow don't say that cuz
13:17
he's going to believe you now okay I'm just I just want I want to underline what he says so I know how to respond
13:23
this he's it's a 20-hour drive from Toronto so he is perfectly correct in that so maybe maybe um so I'm assuming
13:33
he just wants us to shoot programs that are less than 20 hours D we don't even know where he
13:41
lives Dean do we know where he lives no we don't on YouTube no he's an ombre he might be in Mexico so sure we'd have to
13:47
find out where he lives in order to cater to him so somehow we need to see if we can reach out to him find out
13:53
where he lives and we'll start shooting in his neighborhood or something start with fix that problem right away uh and
14:01
then he says the cost is so high that you must call a special person to talk to about your trip do you understand
14:08
that line well uh they have a as in most lodges they have a number that you can call you know if you want more details
14:15
etc etc on your trip right they all do that you can't just all information he's saying the cost is so high the cost is
14:22
up there on the site correct Dean yep I just tried to book myself and you can you can you can actually get the cost on
14:27
the site so I don't know what he B the cost is so high that you must call a special person to talk to about your
14:33
trip so I can't deal with that one cuz I really don't know what he's talking about on that one and the lodge that we
14:39
were at is a quite a high-end Lodge and it's not too high it's very competitive with all the other lodges out there and
14:45
for that hon honestly my opinion my humble opinion I know I'm talking to
14:50
Humble but in my humble opinion um they're not that costly compared to
14:58
compared to a lot of the places that are out there this place is very well it's I'd say it's a mid-range uh price
15:05
Camp um but he says that he then realized that this was no longer a
15:10
fishing show I'm assuming there he means the fishing Canada show was no longer or was it this episode this was no longer a
15:17
efficient show yeah maybe he didn't like the get in there segment all that stuff you know what I mean he might be he might be picking this one aart as it so
15:24
he says that episode was no longer a fishing show right yeah maybe maybe it became an advertising agent for the most
15:31
expensive highly pampered pretend fishing vacation well okay all right so first of
15:39
all we dealt with the most expensive yeah not I don't even know where that
15:44
came from um highly pampered yeah that's for sure they all pamper you the same
15:51
these guys um I want to tell you right now uh they look after you at this Lodge
15:56
so if you're looking for a place to go where they actually tend to all of your needs and make sure that they anticipate
16:04
any requirements you might have Nordic Point Lodge would be the place to go if
16:09
you're not looking to be pampered if you want to be treated like you know yesterday's uh trash this is not the
16:17
place to go so he's right there yeah okay right yeah he's right he's absolutely right and there are both out
16:22
there there are some bad lodges out there but the most point is not one of those not even close because they will
16:28
pamper to you your every whim will be looked after so he's right don't go
16:34
there if you want to get a good experience in terms of of uh being looked after um then he says I'll bet
16:42
you insist if you insist on a type of fish
16:48
so you're you're phoning them up and asking them right they'll actually build a netted area and stock it for your stay
16:55
cannot cannot vouch for that although although I'll tell you and
17:03
we've been to a few places um they know their in other words if you say I'd
17:09
like to keep in mind this is an episode that is kind of unique because this Lodge unlike most places that we visit
17:17
it's definitely not one-dimensional they have over a 100 lakes that you can
17:23
access and stay at Nordic point and you can take day trips into 100 bodies of
17:30
water within a couple of hours of the lodge itself so if you say to them Hey
17:36
listen tomorrow I'd like to go speckle trout fishing they say yeah no problem uh you're going to go to Lake
17:44
XYZ and you're going to fish this end of the lake and you're going to use this bait and you'll get probably your
17:51
personal best speckled trout so if he's if he's saying that that is like fish in
17:58
a fishing in a pen I don't know by the way you can
18:04
access these legs with your vehicle and your boat by trailer or you can fly in they have other little options you can
18:09
fly into these further ones that you can't drive into so so is that what he means by they if you tell them what
18:14
you're looking for he's not that's not what he means he's being a bit of a dick here and saying that they'll build a netted area and stock it for your stay
18:20
so probably right off the end of their Dock at the at the lodge is what I'm thinking you can stand on the dock and drop your jig in and catch some pick
18:26
rolls now this one I find kind of interesting this his last comment was this show and once again I'm going to
18:32
now go on see I was thinking this show meaning the fishing Canada show but maybe he's talking about this episode so
18:40
let's insert the word episode where he says show and maybe it makes more sense
18:45
this episode went from exciting and fun to vacations of the Rich and
18:53
boring I don't know if we were boring on that show we showed a great element losing the net and all that excitement I
19:00
don't think that was and and the comments we heard so my wife walked by when I was watching on Saturday morning
19:05
she oh my God that happened you guys and she starts she never mentions anything about it you know she even got laughing
19:10
at it so how could it be for the rich and boring we leg tro we caught Walley
19:16
we got northern pike we got small mouth so that's not really boring four different species and we caught them in a variety of different ways variety of
19:23
ways the pike had a great big gash on it the Walley was sperming out everywhere there was all kind of stuff the giant male w
19:29
yeah like an exceptionally huge male walleye but I guess it's boring to to somebody wow could be could
19:35
be he's a good critic like he's a Critic you know what I mean like he's pretty good at his game something pissed him off something must have pissed him off
19:43
yeah he's a pissed off man for sure because because he's not a happy camper we tried looking him up on his YouTube
19:48
channel there's not much there so oh he has a YouTube channel he's got something going on there yeah he's got a little drum kit in his profile picture music
19:55
stuff well then maybe he's trying to just Garner some use I don't know ah maybe yeah I don't know and and if he
20:02
and good for him if if this is just a ploy to Market himself I say good for
20:07
you for for for doing it you know what we and we did say his name so good on
20:14
him he's good he's good on you he's way smarter than us bud no kidding way smarter anyways uh we hope the uh rest
20:22
of you that watch the Nordic Point episode uh feel somewhat better about it
20:27
I know we did well me this guy's the best I remembers
20:33
me I remembers there a bunch of thank you D oh so anyway there you go that was uh
20:40
that's one of our negatives that Dean dug up and uh we get them we get we get all kinds but we do there if you look on
20:47
our YouTube channel on this episode you're going to see all positives all positives and then you're going to see this
20:53
one yeah we get a lot of uh we get a lot of positive talk to through these episodes so uh anyways we thought we
21:02
can't keep them all happy buddy no we thought we would uh read that to you because uh in this program we're going
21:08
to actually dissect what we're going to you're going to find out what we go through over the course of um a 12-month
21:15
cycle on on how we first conceptualize these episodes because it doesn't just
21:22
fall off a tree into our lap okay so we we're going to go through the whole process with you here in a few minutes
21:27
and and expl expl you how each of these uh programs episodes are um brought to
21:34
you every Saturday morning yeah you might not want to know you might not be interested butell we are we're
21:41
interested in letting we get we get so many questions asked about how you know the the details of the show or what do
21:48
you guys do or what you know there's always what do you guys do this time of year too so there's all kinds of inquiring minds out there so if uh um
21:58
humble thought that was bad he's going to hate this next little plug uh conservation quarter brought to you by
22:04
he's going to be humbled on this one Asian carp uh or invasive species
22:10
center.com uh Asian carp information sessions uh there's one going on uh very
22:16
shortly January 28th very shortly very shortly from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the
22:22
Windsor sports club uh in Windsor Ontario and uh there'll be all kinds of
22:27
booths and presenters there uh great Q&A sessions uh that you may uh want to
22:33
participate in in regards to invasive species and how you can play a role and helping and doing your part to ensure
22:39
that um our local sport fish are not uh impacted or or at least not impacted to
22:46
a totally negative uh Point um by uh being informed Anglers and and knowing
22:52
what we need to do information is critical in in all points in all aspects of angling and this is a huge
22:59
if if we can everybody as Anglers can arm themselves with good information in their mind about these in invasive
23:05
species especially the ones that are right in the old Waters our fish are in
23:10
then you know what you're you're armed with of stuff and you can make good arguments and one day if it gets to the critical point we can uh we can have a
23:17
strong say in what happens you know what I mean do you think humble ombre really gives a damn about any of this stuff I
23:23
think he stopped listening by now no yeah I don't think he's here yeah he's probably gone don't say that yeah you
23:30
guys pisses me off no it's not what the intention was and by the way if you do
23:35
go to one of these Workshops the one in Windsor in particular uh coming up uh at the end of the month uh you could win
23:42
all kinds of goodies including but not limited to a uh Yeti backpack cooler 400
23:49
buckaroos yeah yeah I think humble would be worried about this if if push came to shove and is his favorite lake that is
23:56
four hour four minutes from his house got annihilated by Asian karp and he couldn't catch his uh his bluegills or
24:02
whatever he's after he' probably get pissed then I would think I don't know maybe they can let us know and maybe you
24:08
can let us know too uh Dean uh pulled this out and I don't know what the
24:13
numbers are and I don't want to know Dean but but this would be a very small percentile of what you get in I'm assum
24:20
this is the only one that was negative the only one okay I don't want to make it sound like we only want to cater to
24:26
people who love us although in a perfect world who wouldn't want do that it's nice but uh if you do have
24:33
something negative that we can help either either clear it up with you
24:40
or better yet and now selfish reasons here uh I'd like to say that can
24:45
actually help us get on track if we're going off track drop us a line let us
24:50
know but make them like something that we can understand I I I'm I'm having a
24:56
hard time this because I just don't understand what the hell he's getting at so if you do have some comments negative
25:02
or otherwise please Ascend us we'll take them all to deal with especially if
25:07
they're if they're nasty we hear about a Dean say guys uh uhoh look at this and say yeah let's look at it and figure
25:14
things out all right we can take it in the news Mr Bowman uh MLF introduces
25:20
this I see this I'm finding this like have we gone too far I've saw this already have we gone too far on this
25:27
they now are introducing lock boxes to enforce the 2025 forward- facing sonar
25:34
rules uh restricting the use of sonar this type of Technology on their boats
25:39
correct so Major League Fishing MLF has unveiled a new lock box designed and manufactured by Precision sonar that
25:45
will support new rules limiting Anglers to the use of two forward-facing or 360°
25:52
sonars uh during competition uh goes on
25:57
the ends of your transducer cables to ensure they're not plugged in so there's something that goes on the end of the
26:03
cables now so that you cannot plug in your trans I'm assuming so I'm I'm I'm
26:08
pushing I'm I'm trying to Envision the Garmin setup U I know we have the Black Box on Garmin and I know laurance has a
26:16
box I believe I don't know if they have on their latest but they have and humberg doesn't have a box so what I saw
26:21
it's the network cable guess but you so you see you can't do that though cuz you need networking you have towork
26:28
your other my so I'm thinking you might have to unplug your box on the on the
26:34
you know on Garmin and Lance unplug plug your transducer and they lock that off
26:40
whatever it is the demonstration I watched from MLF they locked up the
26:45
network cable on the unit end just on the on the unit end the network cable
26:51
that goes to the actual unit yeah not the unit itself right okay so so just
26:57
that so what's stop me from having another cable yeah you could do that for sure
27:02
see what I would have thought they would have done and what how I read this was that they were going to terminate your
27:08
connector at at the end on the unit itself right something that that would screw lock on yeah but the problem with
27:15
that is it is it is a network unit it goes into the unit as Network that's
27:20
where your that's your Liv scope goes in via the network no matter how even if you run it from the box your it's got to
27:27
plug into your but if you that the only way you can do that is what Dean said the network cable
27:34
from our blackbox yes comes out you'd have to take that out of the network and just get rid of it and our in our case
27:41
in our boat people listening we have four graphs but there's so many things going on with transducers etc etc we
27:48
also have a network box a network Hub that has five more Network ports right that lives goat plugs into that Network
27:54
Port so we'd have to unplug that lives goope correct me if I'm wrong maybe this is the thief in me the cheater in me but
28:03
but it would be real easy for me to store away somewhere in my
28:10
22t massive bow a cable it's absolutely but it would be it would be extremely
28:17
difficult for me to store more units more more uh screens yes so I
28:24
would think that if I'm the person coming up with these rules I'm smart
28:30
enough to know hey a cable you put it in your pocket they're not going to body Frisk somebody I can put a cable in my
28:35
pocket if it's just terminating a cable I'll replace the cable but I can't put screens in my
28:42
pocket these are massive pieces of equipment so by just terminating a cable
28:50
from the network box to the screen to me you could well yeah just forget it why
28:57
why you going through the of of of making up stupid rules if you can't enforce them this doesn't enforce they
29:02
got to cut their transducer plugs off exactly cut them off and then all put it back on at the end of the night like this is a joke it's a joke so it also
29:10
tells me something that I'm a little bit concerned about that MLF went to this extent because there may be some
29:17
cheating going on already well they're they're certainly trying to stop the cheating that's for
29:22
sure that's the only reason they did this right these are Professionals for God's sakes and they're doing it only
29:27
part time right they're doing it every second day or whatever so they have to take it off they can use forward facing one day they have to take it off the
29:33
next for bass is limiting the number of units you can use uh transducers you can
29:39
use and then U the other MP Pro what is it so the pro league is taken everything
29:45
out completely anyways I'm confused as hell and I'm also as I said concerned
29:50
that MLF thought so highly that there's a possibility of cheating that they
29:56
would go to these extents but I I guess that's where we are today and and the thing is I don't know who'd be making the money out of this because Precision
30:03
sonar is basically loaning the boxes to them right they're they're giving you the box you're put they're putting the
30:10
Box on locking it taking the key away and then the end of the day or the end of the Derby take them back unlock it
30:16
and take the boxes back no not the end of the day the end of that day you just that day that you can't use the like
30:23
it's a lot of effort here right there's a ton of effort going on yes mackerel
30:29
but you know what though you know when you look when you look at it and think about it I mean I love all these Pro
30:35
Anglers they're great and great and great and great but there's always a cheater or some or two in this world that they cheat people cheat at
30:40
everything right there's criminals at everything and it's just a hate to say it but it's freaking I take back what I
30:46
just said I saw how for those of you who caught that by the way I applaud
30:51
you why would I think that MLF uh Pros are
30:58
above the temptation to cheat when things like NASCAR of all things they
31:04
have to run those cars every day through a template shop yeah there you go every
31:10
car has to roll into the shop where you've got like a 100 technicians with templates and they put a template on
31:17
every aspect of that car to make sure that these multibillion dollar
31:23
manufacturers that are in the business don't don't add that quarter of an inch exactly quarter forget
31:30
that yeah so why what was I thinking you're right good good on you MLF I
31:37
agree I said there's cheaters everywhere right there's and it's up for grab there's money let's say 100 Grand a
31:42
couple hundred grand up for grabs geez man I think I might be able to do this you know so and in keeping with that
31:48
because NASCAR does tell you that the reason they go to these lengths is to make sure that the competition is equal
31:55
just as flat as this table right no opportunity for anybody to get a leg up and and they say this uh in this article
32:02
that this rule isn't about limiting Innovation it's about enhancing competition and creating more opportunity uh for strategic angling so
32:11
that being the case you better uh put bring your aame on all aspects of fishing in this way if you're good on
32:17
forward facing that one day you can use it you're great now let's see what you can do without it so you know the better
32:23
will prevail let's talk about that for a minute because I'm sure that a lot of these if not all of these Anglers are
32:30
using forward facing during the pre-fish days that they're allowed to and then obviously they have to lock them up or
32:36
whatever whatever is some just you know some are very reliant on it and some are
32:42
very just just reliant on there's still some old school boys that love to hit the bank and they will do everything they can to not use former fa so that's
32:49
what I was going to ask you I as a two-part question I'll ask it in two parts part number one do you think it's possible for the Anglers who are totally
32:58
reliant on forward-facing Sonar to utilize the technology on their pre-fish
33:04
day and then Garner all of that information and be able to deploy what
33:10
they've learned on the competition day without the actual units oh for sure there's going to be some of that for
33:17
sure I mean you're you're dropping 30 way points out there you know that are open way points but way points are
33:24
necessarily forward facing no no but let's just say you've got a school that's on a on a rock you know what side
33:29
of the rock they're on and you know everything that you got them that day then you go to that Waypoint and you start positioning your boat and hoping
33:35
that they're still there you know yourself what's there right now you blink and it's gone but I'm saying you
33:41
could it could work for them I see it as a disadvantage and and we go part two of the question disadvantage well I'll tell
33:47
you why because part two of the question is do you think the old school philosophy of finding fish and
33:54
catching fish without forward- facing sonar do you think think that philosophy now will prevail in these high-end
34:01
competitions because those Anglers are not reliant on forward facing and they can focus on what brought them to the
34:08
party in the first place absolutely especially those guys that brought them to the part those guys are Kings of that
34:13
stuff right the John coxes of the world and guys like that they're they're just these guys are the forward- facing guys
34:21
young guys that maybe aren't so experienced in the in the heavy thick of getting her out there and just
34:26
going uh they're going to be afraid of guys like that now you know what I mean more afraid of guys I think as they
34:32
should yeah because and I can only use us as as an example if we were involved in all this
34:39
and and we did take advantage of the technology on Thursday pre- fishing and
34:46
took all of these way points that we found open water fish or fish holding to
34:52
some kind of deep water structure or whatever you want to call it and then went back to them during the competition
34:58
day and just tried to visualize what we had seen the day before when in fact
35:05
those fish may have moved we don't know for sure whether they have or not you can you could run your side finding and
35:11
you could run your traditional to try and see but you don't want to SM them right so well that's the other thing too right but we could waste an awful lot of
35:17
time whereas oh hell yeah people who would not even go that route would just
35:23
fish good old old school way and they I think they would kick our asses oh yeah
35:29
but but if that one Waypoint out of 12 way points they had had it on the I oh
35:34
my God they're still here yeah you can and when and you know all these Anglers are ourselves Dean like that once we get
35:41
a couple we can our head starts turning our wheel start turning oh maybe I can do this oh this is better oh that bait's better you know and then you can really
35:48
capitalize too so if if they're there it'll be interesting to see at the end of the year uh Dean maybe you can kind
35:53
of give us a recap a few months into this new system I think all the league are going to have a lot of updates like
35:59
it I think it'll look complet like completely different everywhere especially the Open Water stuff like
36:04
people will just be abandoning it a lot of people looking forward to it a lot of people a lot of guys are moving to that
36:09
npfl now that has none there's a lot of movement towards that League now that have zero forward
36:17
facing it's like whoa things are changing in this game and you know I could get this is a whole show we could
36:23
get into it because the guys the money is getting less and less the sponsorships are getting less and less the Anglers are getting pissed off MLF
36:29
is going to BSS BS is moving on they're going to npfl there's a lot of going on right now in the in the
36:35
professional Bas and the monies are not getting any better it's getting worse they're getting wor and they're going to continue getting worse I feel sorry for
36:40
the guys that are you know trying their asses off to to make a living at it and and this is happening but it' be
36:47
interesting to see how it uh how it pans keep us informed with you maybe we can have you know what I'd love to do is is
36:54
have uh somebody on from both sides of that debate I know the against guy
37:02
BL no he doesn't f tournaments but tournament Anglers who are saying yeah
37:08
no big deal I don't rely on it anyways and then tournament Anglers say oh my God the sky is falling how am I going to
37:13
fish be interesting to get them on the program and get so see what you can do make a note I don't see writing stuff
37:19
when I there you go look at that his his old book he not as new as your book though right that nice new book you got
37:27
uh just want to talk about [Music]
37:36
that the humble goldfish everyone's favorite aquatic pet it's small easy to
37:41
care for what's are not to love even the cat may be mesmerized by the color and movements of your aquarium friends
37:48
goldfish are great at home but don't let them loose releasing goldfish or other domestic aquatic pets or plants into
37:54
natural environments is harmful to both your pet and the planet Gish disrupt ecosystems by out competing native
38:01
species for food and resources in degraded habitats they contribute to Aly blooms they kill aquatic wildlife and
38:07
pass viruses and diseases contracted in aquariums to Wildfish they could even live up to 40 years and grow as big as a
38:15
football Anglers this is where you come in if you find a goldfish at your local
38:20
fishing spot report it to the invading species hotline or go online to Ed Maps
38:28
remember to never dump your live bait into the water and risk spreading other Aquatic Invaders keep our legs free from
38:34
Invaders and don't let them [Music]
38:40
loose anyways that story is on fishing canada.com please go there's a lot more
38:45
to it than what we just covered here quickly it's uh it's pretty interesting and and as Anglers I think it's
38:51
important that we keep ourselves uh informed on this stuff because it's going to affect our fishing at some point or other can they leave a a
38:57
comment on the Articles Dean I think they can can't they or they can okay there you go well that would be nice too yeah get some input from everybody uh
39:05
fishfindermounts.com fishfindermounts.com the sponsor of uh
39:11
this wonderful segment uh and it is a uh what what do we call the segment by the way fan question fan
39:18
question yes fan question FP your p as opposed to Fan comment you flip your
39:23
page back once you see the as opposed to Fan comment no this is a question one the one we just did was the was com that
39:29
was com om and who sponsors that one it's unsponsored it's an unsponsored uh if you have a company out there look at
39:36
there if you have a company that just wanted to pick up about seven or eight minutes worth of great advertising get
39:42
all that stuff up on the and get all the graphics on the screen contact us at fishing canada.com
39:49
and say Hey I want to sponsor that segment each and every week on your
39:55
podcast that's right cuz an an and Peter are very passionate about that when they get a letter they be it for them be it
40:00
against them they're very passionate right Angelo that's right you're passionate I'm passionate uh so that was
40:08
the uh the the the the that deal we're looking for a sugar daddy for that one
40:13
by the way this is the part where we and not expensive either I don't want how much how much you say oh I don't know we
40:19
not like Nordic point which is just out of your ball park right that's
40:24
ridiculous I'm joking Willie I love you buddy you got the best place
40:30
going anyways enough enough of that um can we get to the question we need to
40:36
move on yes we do all right fan question fan question sponsored by
40:41
fishfindermounts.com baby if that's a commercial then that was it if that was a commercial we just had one
40:47
fishfindermounts.com if you have any any need for devices that will make
40:55
your electronics come to life more than they already are uh you need to go to
41:00
fishfindermounts.com check out all of the different uh uh arms and there's a
41:07
lot of brackets and hangers and you got to see the stuff if you haven't been to
41:13
Fishfinder mouse.com yet I don't know what else to tell you I watched a Musky YouTube just yesterday I
41:19
watched a Musky YouTube video and they were using fishan mouse.com of course the whole world's using good stuff so
41:25
question comes uh from sub by J J Irving J Irving 7167 via YouTube
41:33
look at the YouTube stuff are getting don't they own the oil the gas Mr oink yeah the gas stations down got some
41:39
money and he's a candidate for 100 bucks by the way so if this is good enough what this is Budd w w w wo W you can't
41:48
just throw that out in the middle of this like what are you crazy might as well wait until I read halfway through D
41:53
I want you to know what you're reading here now you're influencing us now yeah oh see I I what let's give if it's
42:01
worthy a hundred bucks let's give him a 100 Buck we should have had an open mind as you're reading it now I'm locked into
42:07
that 100 bucks and I'm thinking okay this better be good because I ain't giving away 100 bucks unless it's good hey Ang and Pete I hate your guts just
42:13
like ombre over there you guys suck and you're terrible want 100 bucks for that
42:18
okay question from Mr Irving 7167 hey and and Pete you have been
42:25
continually pushing the benefit of having and using Liv scope and I agree that the benefits of the tool are many
42:31
especially for learning what the fish are doing however I would like to know what you would recommend to most amateur
42:37
Anglers that can't afford to slap down 4,000 bucks on a Liv scope the best way
42:44
uh the best way for them to improve their angling success learning is a lifetime journey and any advice would be
42:49
appreciated happy New Year J so it's not 4,000 bucks by the way well I was going to say let's deal with that first
42:55
because I think there's a misnomer out there because yes when this stuff first came in it was super expensive but if
43:01
I'm correct here I think the prices have slowly started coming back to Earth a
43:07
little bit so uh so a Liv scope plus which is their highest end of the regular sized units is 22.95 at uh radio
43:16
world today so is that complete though that's the box and the transducer right
43:21
you still need a screen still need a screen okay so what can the screen cost you can get them less than 100 bucks that's got a network on them not less
43:28
less than a th000 bucks sorry less I think five or $600 will get you a screen so let's say that now that that we're in
43:35
that upper 2,000 to low 3000 range to get a complete live scope set up if you
43:42
don't have a screen if you already got a screen that's then the price goes down right you know and that's a good point
43:48
too can somebody go directly from zero to 100 with this technology in other
43:53
words in other words if you don't have a screen you're not using Sonar now is it even
44:01
feasible that would we even recommend that you just go out even if you can
44:06
afford it and dump 4,000 bucks 3,000 bucks on a Liv scope unit or would we
44:12
recommend that hey you haven't used sonar before spend $3 or
44:18
$400 get a very simple unit that'll get you at least started into this
44:24
technological incredible fishing uh uh Arena and learn how to use that
44:30
for a season right it would be really hard to start with Liv skill oh my God or or not well I'll tell you why guys
44:37
that I would say this different from Ang and I did it long before Dean even started doing it so and and I when we
44:42
first got into it there was nothing about it written visual or anything like that you go on YouTube now you can see
44:49
so many different screen applications of fish walleye of fishing large M fishing
44:54
small mold fishing muskies pipes that there is a it would help you for
45:00
sure if you watched a lot of it you'd have to watch a lot to get used to it and then you have to go out and and put it in the practical sense but but at
45:06
least you'd get an idea of when they're pointing out fish to you when they're pointing out weeds to you when they're pointing out a log to you when they're
45:11
pointing out whatever it might be there is a a bit of an assistance now so it makes it a little easier than when we
45:16
started because I remember the first year you and I started it I don't know about you I was just like what the hell is this okay let's go back to
45:22
traditional let's you know we got off of it as many times as we got on it so but if we had no experience on traditional
45:28
would the learning curve have had been more difficult or less difficult I guess is what I'm trying to get out I I say
45:34
that because I want to go either way on this right because when you're when
45:41
you've been using traditional for as long as we did well we started using it before it was even invented flashers we
45:47
had flashers right at first so it's hard sometimes it's it's not a a clean slate
45:53
you come in with a whole bunch of knowledge that now you have to convert to a whole different level and sometimes
46:02
that curve is hard to to break right you've got these old habits that you now
46:08
need to get rid of because the technology today is so different it's not
46:13
even you can't even compare the two would it be easier for people getting
46:19
introduced to fishing today just to jump right into Liv scope or would you do
46:24
what I just suggested that they do that is introduce yourself to sonar first
46:30
right and then make the jump that's a that's being your younger than we are what's your opinion of that I think it
46:37
would be hard so I learned with normal sonar as well like traditional oh okay
46:42
so in my opinion that that got me to understand like structure and looking
46:49
for bait instead of fish and which that is different on Liv scope I guess totally so totally I don't know it's
46:56
it's actually a good point the thing is guys if let's say that the money is No Object yeah money is No Object yes so
47:03
you buy this whole livescope package with you know with a compatible unit you have everything else available you have
47:10
your traditional you have your Maps you have side you have clear view you have everything else there so you don't want
47:16
to have the Liv scope you still got everything else so you you'd have to say Liv scope only or the other stuff
47:22
there's no such thing as Liv scope only right but but nobody would buy Liv scope to use traditional
47:28
sonar no but you you would use it I'll guarantee you cuz if you're not using it you're not using you know you're going
47:33
to do it when you don't understand one screen you're going to stay on that screen no you're going to flip around and say w what's this oh hey that
47:39
traditional screen I see that hump there now yeah but how many times have we done that even now today saying but it's you
47:45
can't get it without so they would have you know they have the option to go backwards exactly they have all the
47:50
options what I'm saying is invest the $3 or $400 in just a
47:56
simple basic screen that gives you regular
48:01
sonar and cut your teeth on that versus money's No Object right versus
48:09
buying a full-blown Liv scope unit and just starting at that level would it be
48:14
easier or more difficult you think it's a tough one man think about that you know you're talking real time
48:21
versus you know a traditional sonar that is history yeah right I would I myself
48:28
would recommend if you're not going to Liv Scout bro Liv scope bro you have to buy something with mapping and you have
48:34
to buy something with Side Imaging get that transducer that does it all all that stuff is all built in one
48:40
transducer so the mapping and S if you can afford it well IR what I mean the
48:46
the J Irving 7167 I think he is saying can you talk
48:52
to us Anglers who do not have any of this technology right now about how we
48:57
can improve our fishing today because he's saying improve their Ang success yes to improve our Ang
49:06
sucess you can't afford I'm saying if you can't afford Liv scope you need to get side and you have to have good mapping is what I'm saying you got to
49:12
pay that extra100 $200 all right let's what I'm saying I think we got off track I got off track of this let's deal with
49:17
what he's asking he's saying forget that let's not talk we say forget the 4,000 bucks isn't he that's a good question
49:25
see I don't know that's I'm saying is there a cheaper way of introducing
49:30
myself to some kind of Technology maybe that's what he's saying and and and that cheaper way first of all can I make
49:37
something perfectly clear whether it's traditional or whether it's Liv scope
49:42
you have to have eyes below the water today that's a given you have to have
49:49
eyes below the water there is no way of getting around it whether it's traditional or Liv scope or Side Imaging
49:55
whatever it is you need to be able to know what it looks like down below your boat we've always said that I it's been
50:01
from day one with us for sure so so to answer his question yes you need some
50:07
kind of device on the boat that will tell you what's happening down below
50:12
without that I don't even know to be honest I know there's going to be a lot of people pooing this comment but I
50:18
don't even know whether you can really call it fishing as opposed to just getting out and relaxing I think that's
50:24
what it should be called at that point just get out it doesn't matter whether you're fishing or not you could be relaxing on a golf course you could be
50:30
relaxing in the backyard you could be relaxing I don't know a million different ways I just don't think you
50:36
can call it fishing anymore if you don't at least have some way of knowing what's
50:41
going on under the surface of the water that's my take on that M So speaking of
50:48
the Countess There She Goes hello manque um so that's my take on that I think how
50:54
long would it take Monique to learn Life scope oh she'd have she probably already knows got get her in the boat first she
51:00
could teach us she could teach us all about it I'd love to get her on the show we had such an interesting debate today
51:08
I would love to get it on this show but anyways I'm working on it whole show another show that's not that is not the
51:14
Outdoor Journal that's you can make a whole new show with that one you guys should do that so Jay Irving here's my
51:21
take you need to get some some kind of device that will tell you that you're in 10 ft 15t 30t F feet 40 ft whatever the
51:28
depth is you need some sort of device that will tell you there's a hump over there you need some sort of device that tells you that underwater point breaks
51:35
at 17 ft you got to because today uh if you if otherwise yeah I guess you could
51:41
just put her in Troll and and you and the boys go out and just uh drift or troll talk or whatever yeah you could
51:48
but you know unfortunately we don't know a lot about that no I can't even add to that because what do we know about that
51:54
even if we were stuck with fish finding equipment at all whatever we'd still try and figure out the bottom with bottom
52:01
baits or something we'd say oh my God there's there's some weeds down there hey there's a weed bed there you can find the edge we'd use marker boys to
52:06
Mark the stuff we would feel a hump you'd feel that Sinker hitting up boom a hard there's a hard bottom right there you know what I mean then you feel we
52:12
would we would try and learn whatever we could you know why because we know
52:17
structures that attract fish are attractive to how do we know that experience past experience catch and
52:24
fish and we've seen and fish aren't just on structures I'm saying we're looking for fish that are maybe possible to
52:29
catch easier to catch than roaming Open Water nothing cuz they're out there too they're out in the roaming Open Water we learned that we we've learned that
52:35
recently that's the only way you learn that is well trollers would learn that one the GU trolling would learn boy she's a long road Bo she's a long troll
52:42
but I'll tell you what it works I have to say you run a a yui crystal midal deep diver Walleye out in 40t of water
52:49
you see a hook here and hook there and hook there and hook there and you're thinking what the hell I do you troll you'll catch those fish you don't have to see the individual fish so but
52:57
anyways that's getting off of it's a tough one man I I I I really do believe if you go to the traditional screen that
53:02
angel saying just traditional screen please don't just look at that screen
53:08
learn what that screen is telling you when you see a difference in the bottom thickness try and figure out what that
53:14
is drop your anchor down if you have to to feel the bottom whatever it takes to learn what this thing is showing you because there's a lot of in intricacies
53:21
in in traditional too so you learn that thing you get good on that you're on
53:26
you're find your way to everything else so so it would be less about finding fish and more about learning what's down
53:33
there right with yeah but but finding fish is good I mean traditional shows you fish too you got you learn what it
53:38
looks a nice hook on there and etc etc you can learn a lot from a traditional screen so uh he ends up by saying uh
53:45
learning is a lifetime journey and any advice would be appreciated nobody would agree with you more than the fact that
53:52
learning is a lifetime experience and I got to tell you
53:57
I don't think there is a shoot that we go on that we don't come away with
54:03
learning something absolutely we try we want to we want to learn something out there our our mind is open enough to say
54:10
we're not going to go in there say hey this is going to happen that's going to happen the other's going to happen we know that's not going to be the way we're going to try and figure things out
54:16
and and hopefully learn on the on the you know along the way uh if you've got any questions and by the way so we need
54:23
to decide now Dean right yeah whether this is worthy of our 100 uh gift card gift card yep well you know
54:31
obviously 's he's strapped for cash a little bit he can't get a he can't buy a Liv no but
54:39
no you know I wish now we had a $100 sonar that we could thisy $100 gift to over to Works Garmin yeah all right Dean
54:47
give him okay all right give me a hell yeah uh J Irving congratulations you
54:52
just won yourself a $100 uh gift card uh for fishing Canada .the store or store. fishing canada.com
55:01
whatever you want to do I've given up I've given up telling you how to get there anymore sure uh $100 worth of
55:08
goodies for you enjoy on us and yes Happy New Year to you too J buddy be L
55:13
thanks for the question and so if you've got a question that you think you can uh obviously that that question was very
55:20
good cuz it conjured up all kinds of thoughts that we have
55:28
right and that's the type of thought provoking question we'd like you to ask don't you say hey what was your favorite fish CU you ain't going to get $100
55:34
coupon let me be perfectly that's not a $100 question right no that is not this was a very well uh uh organized and
55:41
displayed and and executed and and I'm not spell checking them anymore and this one nailed it I didn't spell check
55:48
anything so um Jay Irving 7167 congratulations uh how are we he's going
55:53
to how's he going to know I'm going to find him you're going to find him track them down after the show what do they
55:58
have to do like explain to me how this works cuz it's 100 bucks all right yeah
56:03
so they have to be subscribe to our YouTube channel and leave a comment so they have to go to YouTube they have to
56:09
go to fishing Canada YouTube channel yep on any of our videos you can leave a comment underneath any video and and it
56:16
doesn't matter what video like this guy could be on episode one where the me and Danny Thompson were on 30 years ago that
56:23
I'll find it and then you'll find you have to go searching for that no it sends me an email there's a so you
56:28
automatically get get this so you don't have to like lie to me tell me you have to spend hours and hours agonizing over
56:36
the whole I'm in the archives in the back looking for all the stuff pulling the tapes out come
56:41
on come on work with me buddy I want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth here
56:47
okay uh so go to any of our YouTube product anyone even uh I'm assuming this
56:53
very podcast yep so somebody preference right so somebody could be watching this
56:59
right now on YouTube and say hey why can't I win a 100 Buck 100 like Jay
57:04
Irving I got better questions than that guy there you go put a comment right underneath this one right now as we
57:10
speak and Dean will apparently magically it's a question not a comment it's a question question nice thought-provoking
57:17
thought-provoking question yeah we like them we like questions like for example I I nobody has asked us who the hell is
57:24
the CEST anyways like like is that worth 100 bucks though I would like to answer that I'm not I'm
57:31
not going to now because that would not be that would not be fair but we keep referring to the CEST but I call her
57:37
Monique right there so they know it's Monique if they're listening I just say hey Monique how you doing so they know the CEST is named mon in the first name
57:44
right on so okay if that means anything but all right anyways uh go there now
57:51
and and by the way even if you don't have a question would it hurt to subscribe anyways I mean I think that's a good thing right we it helps us we do
57:59
uh love doing this program and we have been doing it now for uh little while uh
58:05
we would like to continue doing so and if you think that we should continue doing so one of the best ways you can show us is by subscribing if you haven't
58:13
for some reason already push that button right now let's come on now thank you moving along the main segment of the
58:20
show brought to you by Sale s The Outdoor Store and if you
58:26
don't have one of them in your neighborhood all you have to do is go to sale.ca and check it out and see if
58:31
we're telling you the truth that it's probably one of the best collection of outdoor goods regardless of what your
58:38
Pastime and passion is uh fishing hunting camping hiking uh skiing uh
58:44
snowboarding uh kayaking canoeing you name it they have something for you
58:50
there and they will be more than happy to uh ship it directly to your home you get on their emailing list too if you
58:56
want to know all the specials that are coming up maybe so we get absent-minded and I know I'm an absent-minded kind of
59:02
guy and all of a sudden every uh every week sale says Hey beat uh there's 50% off on a bunch of items check this out
59:08
and you go on the site and it's like whoa s sale is your home for all things uh ice fishing including rods reels and
59:15
this is the perfect time for that clothing and much much more head on over to your s store or bookmark this their
59:22
website which is sale.ca that's SSA i l that's an acronym by the way in case
59:27
you're wondering has nothing to do with a sale sale I used to know uh France or
59:35
uh FR uh s a.ca it's a store that they bought an
59:41
old Quebec based retail store um wow yeah there you go we got
59:47
now I got to find that out now and a shop there's a great question yeah it's not worth 100 bucks now though is it
59:53
well I don't know I might be motivated for that uh you can also still receive up to 60% off for some items on
1:00:01
sale.ca there you go so the uh today's subject matter is how in the hell do we
1:00:07
end up at I don't know any of our picking episode it doesn't matter Nordic
1:00:13
Point Lodge well how did Nordic Point Lodge start why did we end up going
1:00:18
there and shooting that wonderful episode that unfortunately not everybody
1:00:24
thought was like key but that episode started Believe It or Not uh at the
1:00:31
Sportsman show right or one of the Sportsman shows when will Pelosi the lodge owner just walked over he's a
1:00:36
lodge owner he was new Lodge owner at the time or new uh worker at the lodge or part owner or whatever manager guys I
1:00:44
love your show um what's it going to take for me to get up there I need I need to get you guys up there to show
1:00:49
well where's where's your Lodge will uh light up in Northwestern Ontario what do you got for uh what do you got for
1:00:54
fishing he tells us blah blah blah blah blah how's your website blah BL see there you go blah blah blah blah blah
1:00:59
this is not a contest on speed I want to know how did this come about as soon as
1:01:05
he said musky he said nope then we went on every no he has musky he has uh small
1:01:10
mou well walleye U on his main Lake uh crappie I think around his Lake and we
1:01:15
didn't get into crappie Pike Northern Pike uh you know that's a small that's a five species list not a small I mean
1:01:22
there a species list of just their Lake and then they have a surrounding L we never got into so he tell us about the
1:01:27
fishing we know it's Northwestern Ontario we know parole lake is in the vicinity of laxo etc etc so it's a in
1:01:34
the mecca of good fishing uh so now the fishing part is okay we have to look into the fishing now we have to look
1:01:40
into the facilities we need to find the website we need to find pictures etc etc what they have uh who's their boats
1:01:46
Motors trailers sponsors if they have what we want all that kind stuff there let's stop there for a moment cuz that's
1:01:51
you told me to go well I know but you like you everything for you is short form like I need some details so for
1:01:58
example Mr Bowman who doesn't get involved in these things but Mr Bowman
1:02:04
just brushed over the fact that we have to find out things like Boat Motor companies that that uh will be prevalent
1:02:10
no but you're not explaining why they're saying oh what difference does it make to you I've got that all written down later in these not well okay but do it
1:02:17
chronologically so that it works you see that's what I why is it important that we know what the Boat and Motor Company
1:02:24
is I don't know tell me okay because you see much like Mr Bowman you probably
1:02:30
don't know that this company in order to move forward which by the way we have
1:02:35
for four decades in case you were wondering uh needs to pay some bills they need to pay some bills they
1:02:41
need to pay for example the employees of the company they want to get paid therefore this is no different than the
1:02:48
job that you do at work you're or whatever it is you do wherever you work
1:02:53
the people that pay you have to s sell something in order for you to make an
1:02:58
income well this company is no different I know people think that in the fishing industry that's that's a fairy taleent
1:03:04
it's not well you're benevolent we know they all know that by now but they know
1:03:10
better it's not true so we have companies like Princecraft boats and I know uh we were making fun of uh uh
1:03:17
humble earlier on because he didn't like the commercialism in that episode of Nordic Point Lodge um but we do have to
1:03:25
pay bills therefore we have to sell our goods and our Goods in this case Boat Motor Company who have been with us for
1:03:32
almost the whole part of that 40-year Journey um they need to get some return
1:03:39
on their investment and that is in the form of advertising now it's not necessarily traditional advertising all
1:03:45
the time A lot of times we'll do what we're doing right now and that is just making sure that you're constantly aware
1:03:50
of the brand that supports us because without that we would not be here and
1:03:56
without your support of those Brands definitely we would not be here so those play a very important role in this whole
1:04:04
process for example another one that we need to mention now would be because we
1:04:11
don't necessarily want to put a financial burden on the operator or the
1:04:16
venue then we'll look for ulterior alternate ways not alterior alternate
1:04:21
ways of funding that episode usually through a tourism uh Department in this
1:04:27
case Nordic Point Lodge has to be vetted through Ontario tourism correct and what
1:04:33
what are some of the problems with that Mr B maybe we could go the problem so we
1:04:38
we work with Ontario is our biggest partner as far as tourism and then and then after that we will work
1:04:45
individually with other provinces that uh either they're seeking our help or we're seeking their help when we're
1:04:50
looking for episodes like New Brunswick and like man like wherever it doesn't matter they all they're all the same but
1:04:56
but no Ontario is our big one in Ontario the constant problem we run into is
1:05:02
we're not the only ones in Ontario that shoot TV shows and we're not the only TV show so there's a there's a was a pop
1:05:08
maybe now it's getting closer to to now but but before there was a pot you know Baba zomi etc etc and when we feature a
1:05:16
lodge Nordic Point Lodge for instance now that we have featured ntic Point Lodge they cannot be featured by any TV
1:05:22
show that's affiliated with Ontario tourism for I think it's five years four or five years like that it's long it's a
1:05:28
long unfortunately whatever the number is there's a number remember the good old days where that didn't apply oh God
1:05:33
uh like Lodge 88 for example show those immigration years
1:05:38
those are fantastic but I can also understand why share the wealth you got to share it yeah absolutely I that it's
1:05:46
you know it's more fair that way if we go elsewhere and elsewhere so what happens is then now if Nordic point was
1:05:52
featured by another show last year we call up tourism say hey okay we have a list in Nordic Point lodges on and they
1:05:57
say nope they're not available till 2027 you know what I mean so then we got to keep searching and looking and
1:06:03
looking and we finally there's so many lodges in Ontario for example we can hit
1:06:08
you know we're going to hit our number that we need for our amount of shows that we shoot so we eventually do that
1:06:14
but it's it's quite that's one of the biggest hurdles right off the Hop you
1:06:19
know what I mean it's finding the right The Lodges that we can actually go in and shoot because sometimes we'll find a
1:06:24
lodge and and maybe somebody will suggest something uh an area well you know eloma maybe will'll suggest a bunch
1:06:31
of lodges and we'll look and some of them are like well they don't even have they got little generators we can't even
1:06:36
run our batteries and stuff like that on them it's not things don't look good we can't really do a good job up there for
1:06:41
three days in the bush four days in the bush what would you say the criteria if we were to list and I know somewhere we have a list here of of criteria that we
1:06:48
need to meet so what would be the first and foremost important element when
1:06:55
we're looking the one like the one is number one not not not a toilet is that what you're going to get at here no that
1:07:01
that I wish no kidding you have we have to have electricity there's without a doubt so the most important thing no
1:07:07
electricity no fishing Canada show we can't we can't charge our gear on a daily basis because vva carries so much
1:07:14
camera gear and not this is not a bad thing this is a good thing we have so much between cameras to be recharged
1:07:20
with batteries we have to transfer drones and then we got to have to have a computer on board uh with us at all
1:07:26
times so that every day W shoots he brings the the footage into the computer and puts them on hard drives and
1:07:32
transfer them all on high drive so we don't and two hard driv so we don't lose any if we lose one okay we still got another one whatever we need electricity
1:07:39
for all kinds of running a gear charging our our fish finders charging our trolling motors if we have a trolling
1:07:45
motor with us or something will a generator do generator will do if it's high-capacity generator but we need a
1:07:51
good size generator We've ran some of them down pretty good right so
1:07:56
we run out of gas and we run out of gas through the middle of the night and we're all sleeping cuz we had a couple beers cuz it was so freaking hot that
1:08:02
day and we all slept through the things shutting down and then uh our batteries are half charged in the morning so what
1:08:07
woke us up I know the shoot you're talking about Steve snoring that's
1:08:13
it so I know this sounds ridiculous but in this particular case we're laughing because it was a so true so true uh one
1:08:21
of our uh co-hosts has a bit of an issue um
1:08:26
uh snoring and so a bit of an issue trying to be nice to him yeah and so if
1:08:32
we're going on a remote shoot where where we're all hunkered in one little sleeping area uh we do insist that he
1:08:38
brings his apparatus Darth Vader mask and all that stuff and it works on 110 volts and it works on 110 volts so we
1:08:47
need to have a means of making sure that that runs all night long like it's if you are
1:08:53
all snorers like you I know there's groups of guys listening and say you a bunch of what's the matter with you cuz all four of them are snorers and
1:09:00
they can sleep through snoring but if you're a quiet sleeper and you and you just need you know at most a little fan
1:09:06
noise or something because I need a little fan noise but that I mean a guy like Stevie when he's snor he's like no
1:09:12
other he's like he's the best I've heard so far in my life I think you know aside from down in Louisiana that time down
1:09:17
Louisiana we had those they run Stevie for a money but oh my God I forgot all about those boys but but that was uh but
1:09:25
that by the way I went and slept outside in the picnic table with mosquitoes and rattlesnakes all around me I didn't care
1:09:30
I couldn't stay in that room with these and the cockro the Cockroaches and stuff oh my god um so yeah so Stevie's mask if
1:09:38
Stevie's there that alone man we can't I mean it sounds ridiculous it sounds ridiculous but it's but we couldn't do
1:09:44
it we couldn't do it right do you remember very quickly other another SN snoring story is uh is
1:09:51
uh oh you forgot it it too no know I just can't out of wcat oh but with our
1:09:58
camera operator and the lodge owner both remember that wow our camera operator was bad he was in the same tent as us we
1:10:05
had a big army tent w we had this was a freelance guy brand new guy that we brought in on a shoot uh freelance we
1:10:12
normally have our own people but there was something some extenuated circumstances that uh made us have to
1:10:18
bring in a guy we hadn't traveled with and uh and God bless him wonderful
1:10:24
cameraman great person Best Entertainer we've ever had in a shoot in our lives but but we we got into this tiny little
1:10:31
uh hunting uh structure I won't call it even a cabin it was it's a tent with hard walls halfway up hard walls halfway
1:10:39
up and it was like 8T by 12T or something and four beds one in each corner and uh and in a wood stove and uh
1:10:47
we got in and um got a hunk hunker down and he said oh by the way guys um I may
1:10:55
snore a little bit throughout the night just wake me up I'm I'm good we thought okay how bad can it be that he's got to
1:11:01
re it we said yeah yeah we got it of course we pound back a few more quick ones just to make sure but it didn't
1:11:07
matter it didn't matter wow but the the worst part part we were like I was throwing my boots watch me I was
1:11:13
throwing my boots over at our cameraman seeing if I could hit him to stop him from snoring we were laughing our asses off because we were so we were so uh
1:11:19
drained but the worst part was the lodge owner was in another building about 50
1:11:25
ft away at least maybe more we could hear him through his walls and through our walls over top of oh my God it was
1:11:33
most incredible snoring experience ever but anyways so it it sounds yeah it
1:11:38
sounds like UHS but it's important that we get our rest oh yeah we need our sleep for sure on that but the
1:11:44
electricity is mainly for charging you know I mean that's and and vulva we could function we could do it without
1:11:51
but I know our camera op he could not run the equipment and and no nor should should try way in this day and age
1:11:57
that's what you you know there so criteria one is electricity obviously that's the first thing we look into and
1:12:04
let let's say that it's good we've got a good source of power either generated uh
1:12:09
or or hardwired so then next issue which is as vital to the fishing Canada show
1:12:15
as anything else how's the fishing right we need to know about the fishery gone
1:12:20
or the days where we used to just book into these places without even looking um at the fishery and just taking their
1:12:27
word for it because we got uh I'd say the first 20 years of the operation we got railroaded into some pretty scary
1:12:34
places in terms of their fishery they used to call us up because they thought we were the I don't know the Messiah for
1:12:42
fish if they were having a hard time with their fishery they would call the fishing Canada guys in to shoot a show
1:12:48
because somehow we could magically make them appear and all of a sudden their fishing problems would go away and in
1:12:53
most cases we'd find out that the reason that their fishery was so bad is it was just a lack of fish management poor
1:13:00
management out pretty much they were fished out they keep everything they kill everything they one particular one that comes to mind they they instructed
1:13:06
their guides to kill every fish even if the guest doesn't want it uh those are Camp fish and they're going to come back
1:13:12
to camp and we're going to uh feed people with like it was just a bizarre concept we found out too late uh but we
1:13:19
managed to pull that one out of the fire cuz we found the only place on the entire Lake that still had a viable
1:13:25
fishery and we did the show but we uh put a disclaimer on that episode about
1:13:32
the fishery and the operator in general that was one U that I can say we did not have a very good uh report uh on a see
1:13:41
remember one I do remember that one that one was such a long time I'm going I have to talk to you after I don't remember the one so I don't know which
1:13:47
one you're talking about so remind me to Trophy Lake Lodge I don't mind saying it trophy Lake Lodge I don't even know whether it's in existence today or not
1:13:53
don't you remember they had their after a couple yeah yeah after a couple of days they uh somehow got the wear we
1:13:59
found out from one of the guides that the owner of the place had said that he wanted a tail put on us cuz we refused
1:14:05
to tell him where we were fishing where we eventually found the fish and so they got we we start seeing guideboats out
1:14:12
there just hovering around drifting around and we figured out what they were doing and they were reporting back to them where we had caught these fish
1:14:18
anyways it was a nightmare disaster so we learned from that along with a few others that uh the main criteria has got
1:14:25
to be a healthy fishery a well-managed fishery because if it's not well-managed we don't feel comfortable going in there
1:14:32
anymore and and advertising to you that it's it's loaded with fish and go in and
1:14:38
have at it because we feel a sense of responsibility towards that fishery so it's got to be well-managed and
1:14:44
well-managed meaning that the owner of the operation whether it's by enforcing the
1:14:50
existing rules and regulations or implementing their unique unque and own
1:14:56
fisheries management tools they have to be responsible they have to know that these fish need to be taken care of yep
1:15:03
and not to say that you can't have a Shor lunch not to say you can't we're not doing that but they have to be most
1:15:09
lodges now like Will's Lodge they've implemented in an 18inch Walley you know you can't take them over 18 inches back
1:15:16
you keep them out if you're stand at the lodge and it's great it's a good idea you know what I mean so now that goes into the decision-making process so
1:15:22
we've got electricity uh we've got strong fisheries management either self-imposed or government imposed we
1:15:29
know that it's a healthy fishery and it'll sustain um folks uh going in there
1:15:34
and and having at it um if it's if it's a fly in we try our best for Mercury Motors and Prince crap boats that
1:15:40
doesn't always work out for us but it's a lot of times you get these really old beat up boats you can't even tell what
1:15:46
they are there's such some you know some real beaters in there but uh we try our best to you know to do or get AIT that
1:15:52
one's bitten Us in the butt a few times where we've flown in Princecraft boats Hasty Lake remember Hasty Lake we
1:15:58
brought that one up we trailed it up for them and they thank you guys they bought it and they flew it in and it was great
1:16:03
you know what I mean so but we have very understanding Partners in both Mercury and Princecraft and that they know they
1:16:08
know that we do our best in order to make sure that we're using their product uh sometimes it can't be avoided because
1:16:15
uh we just have a great opportunity to bring you an episode that you otherwise would not get uh if both Princecraft and
1:16:23
Mercury were not very understanding so we try and shoot around it that's when a good camera operator comes into play
1:16:29
knowing how to capture the moment without showing other products in the
1:16:34
show that may uh may or may not be offending uh some of the advertisers so
1:16:41
yeah so we've got electricity we've got good fishing tools
1:16:47
management and good fishery etc etc now let's talk about some of the Creature
1:16:52
Comforts would that be next nice uh yeah yeah that's good so Creature Comforts for us we travel well Creature Comforts
1:17:01
includes food we travel a lot over the course of a a year a season we work long
1:17:07
days um we do require some
1:17:13
comfortable accommodations we do require food as Pete mentioned sometimes we'll bring the
1:17:19
food in ourselves if it's a fly in if it's a fly in yeah exactly so now we have to Lodge sometimes you can fly in
1:17:26
there's a main Lodge too but if there's no main Lodge um so we need to make sure that that's all available to us uh and
1:17:33
we can get the food in and we can we have the equipment at the uh cabin that
1:17:39
we can prepare meals every day at the end of the day uh we do require now not
1:17:45
so much in the early days because we'd sleep on the floor if we had to but uh and we've been into some pretty scary
1:17:50
places oh yeah but one of the reasons we don't like to show those no matter how good the fishing is we try
1:17:57
and avoid those places because we feel a sense of responsibility to you each and
1:18:03
every week when we say this place was great well Nordic Point Lodge would be a good example I don't want to keep going
1:18:09
back to that uh our rating of that Lodge and that operation is extremely high so if
1:18:16
somebody asks us hey where can I go with Uncle Bill and and my cousins we want to
1:18:21
take you know a first trip uh drive to Lodge in Northern Ontario where do you
1:18:26
recommend and it's our very first time where we've got you know a very limited budget or days available or health issue
1:18:34
whatever the case may be we feel good about sending them to places that we feel good about oh yeah so if we have to
1:18:42
go to a place where where you're sleeping on the floor and I use this as an example or there's ants carent ants
1:18:48
all over the place like really bad conditions and we'd rather not shoot
1:18:54
there not just because we're uncomfortable with it being there but we're also uncomfortable telling you to
1:19:01
spend your hard earned money to go there so we have that as a criteria as well it probably sits at number four yeah right
1:19:08
sure it does so yeah and it's not like an says it's not just about us because we are relaying that to you you are
1:19:14
trusting us right and oh this is a great stay and oh my God the fishing was great but I couldn't sleep for four days you
1:19:20
know what I mean you know we avoid we try and avoid them to do everybody uh
1:19:25
service we try and avoid them so that we don't have to uh maybe throw a disclaimer out there with the episode
1:19:32
which we hate doing you know you've probably SE for sure if you're a regular reviewer of the fishing Canada show you've seen it throughout the years
1:19:39
where we spend zero time talking about the venue we spend we spend the whole
1:19:45
episode talking about the fish and the experience and we avoid the venue because we don't want to have to tell
1:19:51
you that it's a piece of crap to be honest with you because that's pretty negative and we
1:19:58
don't want have to do that plain and simple so we don't do it and we just avoid it but now we've learned let's just avoid going to these places anyways
1:20:05
so rest assured that when you see it on the fishing Canada show today it's civilized it's civilized it's
1:20:14
the only way I can tell you you will be comfortable we'll feel comfortable sending you there and we've doesn't have
1:20:20
to be five star it's just got to be civilized hell no we've we've already vetted it for you that's basically the
1:20:25
bottom line to it yep and then there you know you started with it maybe we should now put it on the books as number five
1:20:32
you know we have to be able to uh have a Tourist Organization or
1:20:38
tourism board or government entity that will underwrite the trip because we don't
1:20:43
want to put that cost and expense on the operator if we can avoid it there is a
1:20:49
cost for us shooting an episode of the fishing canidate show this is not a freebie there is a a cost we have to pay
1:20:55
the bills like I started saying therefore somebody has to underwrite it and we generally look for tourism
1:21:02
organizations um whether they're non-government or government um to underwrite it because they stand to gain
1:21:09
the most because what what maybe is being missed in this whole thing is if somebody takes the time to go to a a
1:21:16
place that we recommend uh and they drive 5 6 hours 26 hours if they have to
1:21:23
stay in motels if they have to stop and get gas which they do if they have to buy food in the local grocery store
1:21:29
which they do those are all benefits that we bring to that area in terms of
1:21:35
income that's generally supported by a tourism board or tourism organization or in the case of here here in Ontario it's
1:21:43
Ontario tourism and so we go to them now once we've decided that electricity is there
1:21:49
the fish is there the boats and motors are there the accommodations are there now let's go see how we can get
1:21:55
financed and that's where we go to tourism now the unfortunate part the last 15 years or so it's getting a
1:22:02
little more difficult because now we have selected those places where we'd like to shoot and we present them to the
1:22:11
underwriter and the underwriter says Ah no no you can't shoot there because show
1:22:16
XYZ shot there last year therefore I cannot underwrite and finance that trip
1:22:21
so now that one unfortunately has to go off the shelf or in some cases and we've got one this
1:22:27
year that's going to happen uh we will go to the owner and say hey look at we've tried we definitely want to shoot
1:22:35
here we know you've got a great operation we're comfortable here we know we can produce a great episode
1:22:40
unfortunately circumstances beyond our control um won't get it financed the
1:22:46
traditional ways so here are the options and we let them decide correct correct and there's the other element that
1:22:53
people might not understand understand or or see is that this underwriting is basically to pay for the production to
1:22:59
pay for our wages to pay for everything that we do here the lodge is putting up that week away from a customer that's
1:23:06
paying right so we don't pay the lodge of course we don't pay the lodge because we're doing them an advertisement but
1:23:11
they are losing that week of that Revenue thousands thousands of dollars or whatever like that so they are putting the they're putting skin in the
1:23:18
game so and they're saying yeah you know what guys I think it's a great uh opportunity for us let's uh let's go for
1:23:23
it so just to let the know that's happening but there are a lot of different avenues that we can approach and take to get it underwritten so oh
1:23:31
yeah um and we will work with the lodge and the operator uh as best we can and
1:23:36
we've done it a million times throughout our career and it's always worked out for everybody uh sometimes just a little
1:23:42
harder to do and we we the another problem we run into a lot is a lot of the tourism organizations run through
1:23:49
new people all the time right there's always new people so we just get something the ball rolling in one Province and all of a sudden oh Bill's
1:23:55
not working here anymore Jimmy's taking over that oh okay now you got to start over again and that I guarantee you just
1:24:00
that one change over takes a another year you're done for that year so now you got to look for the 2027 sort of
1:24:05
thing like that so there's a lot of hiccups in that there is so much to this it's not even we're just barely scraping
1:24:12
the surface here to be honest with you but we wanted to we wanted to give you an idea of what what it is that we do
1:24:18
and I Dean you're kind of learning the ropes now uh did you have any idea when you first got this gig that there was so
1:24:25
much behind the scenes or or did you just feel hey this is great you know we just get up and go to a fishing spot we
1:24:30
fish camera guy shoots it next thing you know it magically appears on TV and
1:24:36
people love it and I'm having a great time yeah watching the shows growing up I didn't know it was as much of a
1:24:41
business as it is I thought it was like out on the water every day there's a cameraman following you around you do
1:24:47
whatever you that that's just like the because that's kind of what it looks like on TV like that's how we want it to look
1:24:53
like yeah you know you're just heading out oh we decided to head to canora this week when like in reality we plan that
1:25:00
in March or so it's a lot more of a it's a lot it's way more planning and
1:25:06
organization than I ever expected yeah and and it's a lot and that's not even talking production well and so the
1:25:13
element that like also so if we book a shoot now the like the research and the
1:25:19
Gathering of materials and stuff that all starts now as well so like we need a story line cuz we can't just head there
1:25:25
without anything we need all like the images from the lodge if they have any the video if we're going to tell a story
1:25:31
like we told the story about a mine last year great so you know that started I think we shot that show in
1:25:37
June and that process started probably in January yeah so it it's it's a lot of
1:25:43
work and and as well when we're when we're looking into like we are looking into shows right now we are picking up for our our 40th season of of airing and
1:25:51
uh we're not just doing that here too we're also editing the shows that we're already in you know putting these shows
1:25:57
out so we got all kinds of other stuff to go along with these jobs of that so it's not if you could do that full-time you probably have her dialed in pretty
1:26:03
good but you got so much going on around here in this office that it's a you know it it uh it's a slow process tedious and
1:26:11
we're not complaining we love doing what we're doing and we thank you for supporting us throughout this whole
1:26:17
journey and and years let me can I I just going to say I'm going to tell you
1:26:22
how tell everybody how one of our shows because I was working on it today quite a bit how they evolve so an Dean I vula
1:26:31
and Nick we're up at the Northern Ontario conference this year in North Bay tourism uh tourism conference and
1:26:39
you know we're doing our hobnobbing thing and meeting everybody and having a great time and all that and then um a
1:26:44
retired tourism guy from Northern Ontario come over I know him well to uh Carol Caputo and mentioned something
1:26:51
Carol and this guy come over to Ang says hey yes guys we got a great idea for you
1:26:56
well they told us this idea I won't let it out of the bag yet but uh but it was a a really good idea in the world in the
1:27:02
world of the accommodations part of it that was very unique and then so we said you know what it's in the certain area
1:27:08
in Northern Ontario that sounds like it's a good fishing area so let's work on that so just yesterday I finally got
1:27:15
a hold of through the tourism person up there now the current touris in person the owners of this facility yes hell yes
1:27:22
we are really interested let's go from here what do you got so now we're working on dates today and all that kind of stuff in the same sense now I got to
1:27:29
start finding fishing guides anybody fishing guyses that know the area because there's no this is not a lodge
1:27:34
so now we have to figure out the lakes that are going to be good the species that are going to be the timing that that's going to be good and all that so
1:27:40
there's just it's just an unbelievable spread of things we have to look into like that so now we got the
1:27:45
accommodations if we get this place dial it's beautiful you could say G La Marsh if you like I love G Marsh there's
1:27:51
nothing wrong with that g was is the retired tourism guy from North Bay Area
1:27:57
that set this thing up yeah so that's but that's just an example of that was kind of a fluke but it was just like somebody mentioned it and whoa yes let's
1:28:03
roll with an Ontario said yes let's you can do that they haven't been shot boom boom boom boom the ball starts rolling
1:28:09
like that so and we have an uh an added layer to the onion this year as Pete just mentioned we're embarking on our
1:28:15
40th season give me hell yeah hell yeah and so the criteria has uh somewhat
1:28:24
changed uh this year because being our 40th anniversary we wanted to make sure
1:28:30
that each episode has a little something that will connected to this incredible
1:28:37
Milestone of being in the business 40 four decades uh so so that's another
1:28:43
criteria that we've added to the search there's each episode has to have a story
1:28:50
woven into it that will connect to the four decades the fishing Canada show somehow and so that's added to this
1:28:58
whole thing which is kind of different for us but yeah um makes it more difficult honestly it does but that's
1:29:03
okay makes I hope we don't sound like we're complaining or whining uh we've been blessed with this tremendous
1:29:10
opportunity and we never take it for granted for sure no it's just our job I think people people get it I think they
1:29:17
say you know that's maybe it gives a lot more meaning when we read letters like
1:29:22
um our friend there and and not to you know say anything negative about him but
1:29:29
I I think if he knew what goes into each episode and how it comes to be I think
1:29:36
maybe some of the comments that he made would probably not have been made um or
1:29:41
maybe maybe not maybe know he think he's got impresses you as one ofs there I don't know I think he's GNA P off at
1:29:48
somebody in here so can anybody say uh what what's his name Jim um there's a
1:29:56
bunch of thank you Jimmy kunda Jimmy K Jimmy K all right that are it I
1:30:02
think we've uh we got a whole you know what I'll do maybe sometime in then in the future when we're not so clustered
1:30:08
for work put something like this in the website an article we'll put may make an article out of this and people could uh
1:30:14
you know be totally informed as to our process and stuff like that cuz it's pretty interesting this we wrote down
1:30:19
all kinds of stuff here for this you know from a drive to to a flying to you know to a Northwest Territories and BC
1:30:25
shoot there's all kinds of differences there you know there's you know what I'd like to see then if we're going to do
1:30:30
this and Dean maybe you can uh sort of uh come on now thank
1:30:36
you I'd like to see three elements to this this being one of them and that is
1:30:43
finding the locations what's the criteria what's the the template look like that they have to all fit in what
1:30:49
do what are our requirements when we're looking for a location but now let's do another um second part to this and that
1:30:55
is the production element of each and one each and every one of these episodes because I think that's another misnomer
1:31:01
out there that's what I said like that electricity is all about the production yeah nobody knows about that so you're right that that's they have no idea what
1:31:08
goes on out there from V shooting how many cameras he brings with on the in the field and then we get back to here
1:31:14
how much stuff goes into it here so yeah that's a that'd be a great uh he follow up to this one for sure hope we haven't
1:31:20
bored you with uh all these details we thought it' be uh it' be high and again if you have questions on what we're
1:31:26
talking about right here please leave comments on uh on the YouTube site can they leave comments on Spotify or or
1:31:33
apple Spotify you can apple you can't yet okay so anywhere if you're listening or watching give us a a shout out a
1:31:39
question and say you guys you were talking about that thing there in the lodge what about you we'll answer it man
1:31:44
we will answer it either on the podcast or uh you know on the comments and being the guy who's uh more uh involved in the
1:31:51
other part of the business if you're an average ier and or a potential sponsor and or uh somebody who could underwrite
1:31:59
one of these Journeys uh by all means reach out to us and find out how that to
1:32:04
because we can make that happen real quick yep Andy and we are always looking for people in that
1:32:10
area um Dino what do we got are we at the end of this thing so we are at the end this is where we have a j andb spot
1:32:19
jnb cycle with a 9.9 Mercury motor giveway way has been one of our
1:32:25
supporters all of this year that's jnb cycle and Marine not to be confused with
1:32:31
JB cycle and Marine which is their. comom site correct right but otherwise it's got to be J&B
1:32:39
cycle and Marine largest Ontario Princecraft Mercury dealer if you've not been to one of their sites and you're
1:32:45
driving by to a great fishing Adventure up in the uh Sudbury to timman area uh
1:32:52
check them out it's worth uh a couple couple of hours to go in and see this operation or one of the two operations
1:32:58
uh they have full boat motor trailer packages but it's much much more than that you got to definitely drop in to
1:33:04
see them and of course keep an eye on fishing canada.com the contest section because they're always running uh
1:33:10
special uh contests and giveaways as well as happy people man there's some happy people out there baby this is
1:33:16
after Christmas and we're still give them presents away this damn good hey who does that you know who does that I
1:33:22
want to know who does that Santa doesn't do that no hell no he works one month out of the air for God's sakes uh that
1:33:29
are it folks want to thank you all for uh sticking with us throughout this uh hopefully we've explained some things
1:33:34
hopefully we've shed some light on what we do here uh but thank you very much for joining us on behalf of the entire
