0:06
radio well hello everybody thank you for joining us once again well actually not joining us as you can see by the look of
0:12
this picture uh I am sans's my co-host yes Mr Bowman is uh taking a day
0:21

0:27
somewhere I'm sure uh he doesn't do off without going on the water uh but
0:33
wonderful program without him uh but we do miss him already but we will go on as tough as it's going to be we will sold
0:41
giron without Mr Bowman believe it or not come on now that's right uh because I got Dean Dean the dancing machine give
0:48
me a hell yeah yeah baby uh welcome to the show we've got a wonderful program
0:54
as per usual later on in the in the show we'll be joined by U uh one person that
1:00
you're familiar with another one has been on the show before together they're going to team up and give us a brand new
1:07
brand new podcast and man is it exciting uh Jamie ptii who was with The Tackle
1:14
Box podcast which is no longer has teamed up with Ryder Nolton who was a
1:19
guest on this show right Dean yep he was I think like 10 episodes ago 10 episodes ago and uh wow what a package they are
1:28
going to give us for for podcasting I am so pumped and excited to talk to these guys they'll be joining us a little bit
1:34
later on uh but first uh let's get through what we need to get through and that is business we need to take care of
1:40
business I want to remind everybody that uh the contest on fishing canada.com uh
1:47
will not get one on its own somebody has to go and win each and every one of those prizes it might as well be you and
1:54
all you have to do is go to fishing canada.com I know you probably don't have that set up behind me because I'm going way out yeah yeah that's Off
2:00
Script I just wanted to throw it out there I felt compelled Dean I felt it's a good day cuz actually this will be
2:06
after people hear it but we're giving away a live scope today no yeah it's
2:11
today we're we're doing many of those are we giving away do you have any idea I think this will be our fourth wow just
2:17
that's like what $20,000 worth of fish finders yeah crazy yeah free yeah for
2:23
free my God what a country no wonder I want to live here let's be honest about
2:28
it uh while you're searching out your ballots for the contest uh make sure you stopped in at
2:35
the fishing canada.com store the shop you see the wonderful uh merch behind me
2:41
this is all brand new this this is uh somebody took license with our logo and
2:47
uh kind of made some alterations not not officially changing the fish in Canada
2:52
logo God forbid nobody would ever do that but just sort of as a little add-on and man they are flying out of here
2:59
we've got got um we've got what do we got walleye bass and musky and musky yep
3:05
and more to come more to come so uh go to fishing can.com check it all out all
3:11
the merch is there the new uh summer stuff is uh either on its way or it's already in some great deals all kind as
3:19
usual uh free shipping on more than a 100 bucks you spend more than 100 bucks and you get stuff Shi
3:25
free and uh while you're there if you go through the the front door not the back
3:31
door fishing canada.com the portal the gateway to your next fishing Adventure come on now awaits you uh you can spend
3:39
days on this thing I was by the way Dean I went on a couple days ago yeah I was looking for something and I got way way
3:47
way sidetracked an hour and a half later I said what am I doing I got I got to
3:53
get out of here yep so it's very dangerous it is dangerous we should put
3:58
like a warning up there when uh when you get there you uh it's probably not a bad idea now I was I have to be honest with
4:05
you okay and I don't want to be negative but I was a little uh
4:11
overwhelmed in parts of my search by the ads yeah okay yeah I I have to be very
4:18
honest with you in fact I got a call a few days ago from an old buddy of mine Randy Dykeman okay uh haven't seen Randy
4:26
I'll bet you I haven't seen Randy in I don't know 15 years maybe even more he called me out of the blue not to say
4:31
hello to me not to you know ask how I was doing not to and none of the above he called me to say what is going on on
4:39
that website yeah I mean there's ads everywhere you know yeah we had we had a bit of an issue it always seems to
4:45
happen over the weekend too um but we had two days where something happened with the ad server where they were just
4:51
absolutely everywhere so it's been addressed but it was there for about 2 days so this is just me thinking this is
4:58
just me yeah take take me for example yeah if I want an AdFree experience when
5:06
I go online and I do have some of these right and there's an opportunity for me
5:11
to sign up for an adree experience either at a cost or I have to
5:18
create an account or I have to do a little extra work I do it m i do it is
5:24
there a possibility that maybe something like that can be done moving forward I mean have you thought about maybe having
5:30
a an adree environment for some kind of minor charge y you know a token amount
5:37
to cover the expense of number one of setting that up but most
5:42
importantly folks you have to understand this is a business right so we need income Dean Dean needs to get paid every
5:50
Friday right so and so we need to have an income for that and if you cut the
5:57
ads out or back sometimes it's doesn't work out there's more costs than there
6:03
is income so if maybe the thought should
6:08
be if if somebody wants an adree environment like myself for example maybe I'm willing to pay something for
6:15
it have you thought about that yeah we floated that around last year when we started the ads that we have now um we
6:22
kind of need if if if people are interested in something like that it would help to send some emails in so we know that there is interest for it cuz
6:29
the you know the we have the the ability to do it uh it's just a matter of building it so um if
6:35
you want something like that we would love to hear from you yeah everything's got a cost that's the only problem yeah
6:40
but anyways other than that I just wanted to say it was wonderful great experience I I don't get on there often
6:45
enough as much as I should but but I did spend a considerable amount of time that I didn't have by the way um and it's
6:53
wonderful man it is so rich in content and anything you want to know and I mean
7:00
any I would defy you to go on fishing canada.com and have a fishing question
7:06
or curious about some aspect of angling that cannot be satisfied on
7:12
fishing canada.com I I I would I would doubt that very much it's there like I
7:18
said so deep in information it's unbelievable there you go that good did I do good D that was
7:25
great come on now thank you there all right let's get to listener feedback cuz we we got an exciting show by the way
7:31
this show um we mentioned we've got Jamie and Ryder coming up both of them
7:37
are well-versed in The Guiding World fish guiding and hunting guiding hunt
7:42
guiding uh and of course you done some guiding yourself Dino I gu it before I was here yeah right so you're these
7:48
These are Kindred uh spirits that you'll be able to share with them that's right
7:53
you've got some interesting guiding stories one of the things I got a you I
7:59
talked about this yeah um guiding to me is a
8:06
misunderstood profession in my opinion MH uh somebody somewhere along the line
8:12
said you know a guide is somebody that uh knows how to fish yeah and knows how
8:19
to operate a boat if you know how to fish and you know how to operate operate a boat sign up right here on the bottom
8:26
of the document cuz I'm going to make you a guide It's funny actually because when you apply to most lodges I don't
8:31
even think I was asked that is that right I think they were like well he applied so you know that's it he must he
8:37
must be he must be because to me a guide um is anything but that as odd as that
8:44
may sound yes obviously the guide has to be able to run a boat for obvious
8:50
reasons but a guide to me is so much more and and we're going to talk about that later on with the boys when they
8:56
come on um but you know a guy should never fish for example what is what in
9:02
the world is a guy doing out on the boat fishing yeah you learned that pretty quick well some guides do I learned I
9:09
think my third trip out cuz I had the philosophy when I started that okay I'm not going to touch a rod the trip isn't
9:15
for me it's for the clients all that stuff but what you get sometimes is the Once the clients get to know you they
9:21
want to enjoy the experience with you or at least they think they do and then so
9:26
I had one trip where that happened you know they were like they wanted me to to join in we were having a good day and I was like no no like we haven't got the
9:32
big one yet we haven't got it and they're like no we don't care like even if you catch it it's not a big deal and
9:37
I dropped down and hooked a walleye immediately that I knew like oh no and it ended up being 31 in and the boat was
9:45
just quiet for the rest of the afternoon well yeah like I don't know what they paid
9:51
for that experience but you just ripped them off oh for sure because think of if one of them had had hooked into that
9:58
fish can you imagine the stories that would have been told passed down
10:03
generation after generation about this and it was right there where all them were and it's I I learned the hard way
10:09
unfortunately if you're like a new guy just don't even attempt it it's never worth it no matter how much they think
10:15
they want you to do it no it's a trip Ruiner exactly it just it pisses me off when I
10:23
see that and it happens a lot oh yeah it happens a ton except the weird part is
10:28
it seems to happen in intentionally with a lot of guides which is the harder part to understand well intentionally because
10:34
to and listen by the way any guides listening to this don't take this as we're we're we're we're coming down on
10:40
you believe me trust me but these are stories this this has to be told because I think it's it's
10:47
important you you you you waste the opportunity in my
10:53
opinion you waste the opportunity to do your job the minute you pick up a rod as a guide that opportunity is the
11:01
opportunity to to to number one bond with this client because that's important that's super important when
11:08
you're out guiding but more importantly to teach and help and and nurture and
11:14
Shepherd and we could use all these wonderful words because that's what a guide is supposed to be doing telling
11:19
stories sharing personal experiences talking about nature trying to to you
11:25
know to to put together a puzzle on on how to catch fish so that when this
11:31
person after this wonderful experience with you the guide goes away they are
11:37
taking something they're they're bringing something back with them and that is the wonderful experience they
11:44
had with this person that they never met before they just met him for the first time you know
11:49
today but if you're fishing you're not giving them the opportunity to take that
11:55
home right they're in most cases they're seeing your your back hooking into fish
12:01
saying oh there's another one yeah they were I told you they were here bill yeah they're all over here man yeah you got
12:07
to you yeah uh it sickens me when I see that it sickens me but anyways I totally
12:14
agree we'll talk about that at length uh with the boys for sure uh listener
12:20
feedback from uh gloomy bear Ben I love that gloomy bear Ben via Apple podcast
12:28
uh how do how do folks get that to us by the way they leave reviews they leave reviews you have to leave a review yeah
12:34
and and that's why it's on podcast because I don't think Spotify does that no Spotify you can leave like a like a
12:39
star but you can't leave an actual like like a write up oh yeah okay uh so um
12:46
gloomy bear Ben via Apple podcast he
12:51
says and I don't quite understand this so maybe you guys could you could help me out for sure uh awesome podcast
12:57
reminds me of home yeah I kind of wish he specified a little bit on on why but
13:02
I did do some some looking and I think he wrote this review from the
13:08
states okay so I think that's why so he's a ex Patriot yeah South of the
13:14
Border yeah listens to the podcast uh reminds me home I have a a similar story
13:21
uh the old Outdoor Journal radio program uh that we had for years on
13:26
Rogers sportset uh we we used to periodically ask our listeners to tell
13:32
us where they the weirdest place was that they've listened to the show and I remember and this we had a
13:40
contest this one time and I remember this this one uh uh contester wrote in
13:47
he says the weirdest place it's not really weird but I was sent
13:52
overseas uh for work purposes and the only thing that kept me
13:58
connected with Canada was the Outdoor Journal radio show but I
14:04
had to be in a certain place in order to listen now remember we were on at 8:00
14:10
Saturday mornings 8 to 10 he was in Singapore or or one of those
14:16
countries um Pacific countries anyways he had to go outside and sit on a park bench facing a
14:25
certain direction and he could get a faint connection with Rogers and and listen to
14:32
our podcast and he said too that it it connected him to to home so that's
14:39
amazing yeah there there's a lot of people that use these programs not just radio but podcast television our uh
14:46
fishing Canada program uh still does and always did air uh abroad when our um uh
14:55
soldiers are either in a conflict or patrolling like during the Afghanistan thing years ago um we were thankfully to
15:04
Global we were put into all of those countries uh at the Canadian uh military
15:11
camps and so a lot of the guys um have written in in the past saying that we
15:16
helped them through those tough times because that was the one stable in their life the one thing that they could count on was Saturday mornings they could
15:24
watch the fishing Canada show and it's gut-wrenching when they tell you though stories about that I bet but anyways
15:31
want to thank gloomy bear Ben for uh giving giving us the thumbs up on uh the
15:40
show uh podcast Network highlights we do those regularly Dean on uh on the site
15:46
how do we how do we High we put them everywhere in our newsletters on the website um on social media we put our
15:51
podcast Network there's something going on every day so we're always highlighting something and uh this one is about the folks at ugly Pike uh Frank
16:01
and Chris uh ugly Pike podcast episode 175 and 176 boy they're getting some
16:07
numbers up there aren't they oh yeah holy smokes getting up there uh their guests are Steve and Danny herbeck who
16:14
are renowned if you're up in the U Eagle Lake District of this world you know
16:21
those names for sure they are uh some of the best guides the two of them best
16:27
guides on that body of water which which is obviously a Musky hot bed and uh they
16:33
did two shows with the uh ugly Pike uh podcast and shared their secrets which
16:39
was kind of surprising uh but I guess the fact that they're you know on Eagle Lake they felt
16:45
kind of uh safe and comfortable with I think the musky guys are a little they
16:51
almost seem open to giving away like techniques and stuff because you know it's not it's not a guarantee it's so
16:56
hard right I saw the biggest musky of Petey uh biggest musky of Our Lives was
17:04
on Eagle Lake and we saw this fish three times on three consecutive days and it
17:13
was just I mean to say was breathtaking is such an understatement because we had some
17:21
really strange conditions a perfectly flat calm not a ripple of water or wind
17:28
anywhere it was like a m Pond and we're on this big Mid Lake Shore a hump
17:36
underwater Island and we had caught previous trips we had caught fish uh in this area all
17:44
all around it actually but on this one trip we saw this
17:52
Mammoth fish you know without exaggerating well for sure it was it was
17:58
between 50 and 60 somewhere it's hard to gauge
18:04
when you're in the boat right but because we had such flat water and because the fish stayed with us for such
18:09
a long period of time we got a pretty good indication and and Pete and I are both pretty good at at assessing sizes
18:17
of fish it was between 50 and 60 somewhere wow but what was amazing about
18:22
this fish was the girth it was it was like a a a a crocod dial in
18:30
girth right and three times we saw it it came up sat with us we we telepathically
18:38
communicated and it looked at us and then for no reason it would just go away
18:44
and then the next day later on so we saw it first in the afternoon then on the
18:50
second day we saw it late in the day almost A Sundown still had enough sun to see it
18:56
and then the third day we saw it first thing in the morning all in the same area would not take any of our baits
19:01
almost almost like it was just coming up to say hello or I wanted to spawn with
19:06
the boat or something if it was that big well maybe maybe I don't know but it was like you know we were we were kind of
19:11
there you know obviously the cast we were using big blades so obviously the
19:17
vibration got its attention and it would just kind of come up from the from the
19:22
dark deep and it's Crystal Clear water it's like tap water and it would just kind of come up and and wouldn't even
19:30
you know sometimes when that happened you say oh you almost got it did you see it no this was not the case this fish
19:35
was totally not interested in our bait but we got its attention and three times
19:42
it came up from the Dark Shadows of the of the drop off it just kind of lingered
19:47
about you know 15 20 ft away from the boat but it was such flat calm water we
19:52
could see the like we could see the the scales on this thing is incredible what a great experience eag Lake and and
19:59
these two boys Steve and Danny herbeck um you need to definitely go to ugly
20:05
Pike uh podcast episode 175 and 176 they are the main dudes on that Lake and some
20:12
of the things that they talk about in those two podcasts yeah you need if you're into Musky fishing you need to
20:18
definitely uh go catch that for sure uh in the news my friend this is an
20:24
interesting story is it not is it interesting or is it absurd it's a strange one it's very weird so a man
20:32
allegedly well they allegedly because I guess at the time that we got this um
20:37
there were obviously criminal charges pending but but the case had not been brought to court yet right right right
20:43
so that's why allegedly but there's no confusion this happened he pleaded guilty I believe he pleaded guilty right
20:50
so a man allegedly pours bleach this is on fishing canada.com I'm
20:56
assuming yeah a man allegedly pours bleach into Oregon Hatchery tank and
21:08
18,000 smols salmon 18,000 walks in I'm assuming breaks in
21:16
had the Breakin obviously didn't do it during during uh hours regular business
21:21
hours or somebody would have stopped him so he must have broke into the Hatchery and I could you know I'm I I have
21:27
pictures of this guy you know with a couple of jugs of jab ax and uh walks in
21:35
there and dumps it and into the tanks and kills 18,000 salmon wow I can't anyways I'd
21:43
love to have this guy on the show by the way yeah I would love to find out the motivation cuz I don't like is it like a pro like one of those weird climate
21:50
protests or like what is he up to but but killing 18,000 fish I like
21:56
regardless of what the protest is whether you're Pro or anti- fishing whether you're you're anti-commercial
22:02
fishing whether you're a vegan yeah even no disrespect boa uh I can't imagine
22:11
what would motivate a person to knowingly go in and kill 18,000 of
22:16
anything yeah anyways uh his name is Joshua
22:22
Alexander hethorn heckathorn heckathorn 20 years of age there's one
22:29
obviously not not that there's anything wrong with 20 year olds but honestly I
22:35
have a few in my family and I got to tell you some days you you wonder what's going on upstairs because it's not quite
22:42
clear all right so obviously this 20-year-old had one of those moments that people have at that age uh but
22:49
anyways he was arrested and booked uh into jail for second degree
22:55
burglary second degree burglary which means that the place was uh not locked
23:03
it was open like what's what's second second degree burglary I don't know I'm not this would be a Nick question
23:09
because he's he he was in law he was in law yeah I don't know the details isn't it like it's not planned I thought that
23:15
was second degree was like a first degree is like you plan to do it okay maybe he was he he bought Le at the
23:21
store he tripped how the hell is it not playing when you got javx under your arms boys come on it's flat so they
23:29
can't be it so anyways uh as well as you got charged with criminal trespass and criminal
23:35
mischief and um what he did he broke into the Winchester Bay salmon trout
23:40
enhancement program and poured bleach into shinook salmon tanks killing like I
23:47
said 18,000 uh the maximum penalty apparently for poaching shinook now I'm assuming
23:54
they're calling this poaching why why would they call this poaching I I think because the fish were not being raised
24:00
for commercial purposes they were being raised by like the DNR I guess down
24:05
there to be released into the river so they're wild technically or they're soon to be wild maybe I'm thinking
24:14
interesting yeah there something that that the I i' I'd like to get more on this story I'd like to get this kid on
24:20
the show I would love to be able to talk to this kid and find out what is going
24:25
on in that head at the time that this happen happen um anyways these are shuk a species that is
24:33
protected under The Endangered Species Act in that area and that would bring
24:39
with it a penalty a fine of $750 doll per fish maybe that's why
24:47
they're calling it poaching maybe they're trying to bring the poaching regulations into effect because I'm sure
24:54
that there is no rule on the books MH or law on the books about
25:00
bleaching uh Hatchery salmon yeah so I think what they're trying to do here they got to make sense of it somehow so
25:07
they're just calling it poaching because there is a fine of $750 for poachers uh that have if
25:15
they're caught have to pay $750 per fish yeah so I think that's it What's the total doll that's $14 million million
25:22
dollars what it comes to which you never see for poaching charges so I no can't imagine that
25:30
that's what he actually pays people end up paying like a couple hundreds for this stuff normally it seems you know
25:35
there's another side of this story that I don't think is really talked about anywhere and that is I mean it's it's
25:41
it's a tragedy uh for the people who give their heart and soul to this conservation
25:50
program you know because I I I know a lot of folks that work in in these small little clubs mostly in rural parts of
25:57
the country country and they dedicate their lives to running these hatcheries
26:04
cuz it's it's a thankless job they don't get paid for it's all volunteer right and so there's a whole process from when
26:12
they get the fish if they get fish or whether they raise them from the egg
26:17
stage but there's a whole process that these volunteers go through bringing
26:22
them up to the size you know release size uh smols generally and I can't even
26:30
imagine the devastation that this would have caused those folks who worked on at
26:35
this Hatchery raising and rearing these fish to find out that somebody had gone
26:41
in and killed them all like they they take it very person they have a connection with these fish and I don't
26:47
think there's enough said about that I mean it it it's terrible it's
26:52
terrible crazy anyways these were three and four inch long salmon um and they
26:59
were going to be released in June into the Lower oqua
27:04
River and uh would eventually made their way to Alaska and eventually the Ian I
27:10
mean 18,000 I don't even know what the math would be but they probably have
27:16
some numbers of what this 18,000 would have produced in time had they gone you
27:22
know the full cycle of coming back and spawning and all that stuff wow what do
27:28
you think they're going to do this kid if I if you take the history of what they do to poachers and people who kill
27:34
fish normally probably nothing probably like and you can't take away he probably doesn't have a license to take away like
27:41
that's what they fall back on all the time just will remove the license will take your your boat for a year or
27:46
whatever and don't do it again I can't even I'm trying to think of what possible motivation would there be in
27:53
killing 18,000 baby fish I and I don't want to say that I could think think of
27:59
reasons why a person would kill another person but but but it it would be easily
28:05
easier for me to try and understand you know there's obviously a conflict between the two or or there was you know
28:12
something but 18,000 smolts in a hatchery like come on like what is that
28:20
all about that just blows my mind anyways we should stay on top of this
28:25
this is going to be a good story to follow yeah uh fan question and that's all by the way available right now if
28:31
you want to get more detail we're just giving you the reader G version of it but uh it's all available at fishing
28:37
canada.com as we speak come on now fan question by Kevin Bryant from Ontario
28:44
via email uh submits uh anybody can do this by the way I'm told uh you can
28:50

29:01
on your mind Kevin Bryant from Ontario says when will we see a round table with
29:08
all of the podcasters together whoa great question one of the problems
29:14
I think we'd have is now the family is growing some of us are growing quicker
29:20
than others uh but the family is quite large in fact we're going to talk to a couple of guys here in a minute that uh
29:27
are joining us [Music] um wow I'd love to do it immediately but
29:33
Dean I have to defer to you yeah the Sportsman Show would have been the place to to give it a shot the problem is
29:40
mostly becomes technical like one um not all of our podcasters are are here where our studio is and then that table's only
29:46
so big and Volvo would have to figure out some camera work it would it would take some some effort I think the best
29:53
place to do it would be at like an event like if we rented like a like a bar or
29:59
like a liance club or something like that and made it like a like an event I think that would be the best way to to
30:06
do it to get everyone in one place wow that's that's a great idea actually M
30:11
you mention it yeah I don't think the there's no reality in thinking that
30:17
we could bring it all in here and it would be messy that many people with opinions and well an knowing that but
30:23
how about from a technical standpoint even mics cameras that's that's where it gets tough I'd love to
30:30
do it though I think it would be fantastic yeah you know I think it'd be
30:35
well we'll look into it uh Kevin we'll uh thank you for bringing that up now
30:41
that you mentioned it we will look into it and see see if we can make it [Music]

happen The Humble goldfish everyone's favorite aquatic pet it's small easy to
31:02
care for what's there not to love even the cat may be mesmerized by the color and movements of your aquarium friends
31:08
goldfish are great at home but don't let them loose releasing goldfish or other domestic aquatic pets or plants into
31:15
natural environments is harmful to both your pet and the planet Gish disrupt ecosystems by out competing native
31:22
species for food and resources in degraded habitats they contribute to algae blooms they kill aquatic wildlife
31:28
life and pass viruses and diseases contracted in aquariums to Wildfish they could even live up to 40 years and grow
31:35
as big as a football Anglers this is where you come in if you find a goldfish
31:40
at your local fishing spot report it to the invading species hotline or go online to Ed

32:05
as the world gets louder and louder the lessons of our natural world become harder and harder to hear but they are
32:12
still available to those who know where to
32:18
listen I'm Jerry olette and I was honored to serve as Ontario's minister of Natural Resources however my journey
32:25
into the woods didn't come from politics rather it came from my time in the bush
32:31
and a mushroom in 2015 I was introduced to the
32:36
Birch hungry fungus known as chaga a tree Kong with centuries of medicinal use by indigenous peoples all over the
32:44
globe after nearly a decade of harvest use testimonials and research my
32:50
skepticism has faded to Obsession and I now spend my life dedicated to improving
32:55
the lives of others through natural means but that's not what the show is about my
33:01
pursuit of the strange mushroom and my passion for the outdoors has brought me to the places and around the people that
33:07
are shaped by our natural world on Outdoor Journal radios Under The Canopy
33:12
podcast I'm going to take you along with me to see the places and meet the people
33:18
that will help you find your outdoor passion and help you live a life close to Nature and Under The Canopy find
33:26
Under The Canopy now on Spotify Apple podcasts or wherever else you get your
33:34
podcasts all righty as promised at the beginning of the show uh we have a an ending and a beginning to talk about uh
33:42
with you today uh one of our podcasters uh Jamie ptii was um host co-host of The
33:51
Tackle Box as we mentioned earlier on and uh it's he's going to give us a full story but it's kind of
33:58
been put aside and a new product has emerged a new product has emerged and he
34:05
has a new um co-host uh Ryder Nolton I believe we've talked about him on the
34:10
show before but now he's going to be co-hosting with Jamie a brand new program Ryder is uh an author um the
34:18
book is called the guides a collection of Untamed stories uh he's done a ton of
34:24
uh travels all around the world both fishing and hunting that he'll share with the audiences and hopefully he'll
34:30
share some of that with us today uh an accomplished writer and outdoor photographer among other things I
34:36
understand he's a scholar and a judge of Fine Wines to boot uh welcome to the BR program both you guys how you doing
34:43
thanks so much thanks so much for having us an this is long overdue guys long
34:48
overdue uh and uh I'm so excited I am pumped I think this this new podcast is
34:54
going to be very well received uh you two do such a great job when you're
34:59
articulating your outdoor experiences and and what I like about it there's a really interesting Dynamics going on
35:06
here between you two guys you you're you're kind of opposite you know I I I
35:11
don't want to say that this is uh uh what was the uh the TV series um The Odd
35:18
Couple but The Odd Couple but but it might very well be so um so welcome to
35:24
the program guys and welcome to the new podcast we're uh we're super super excited do you have any idea when uh
35:31
you'll be debuting the first episode or is that a Dean thing it's a Dean thing I'm timing it right with when this is
35:36
out so oh perfect so if you're hearing this you can probably hear that you can probably already check them out they'll be on the Outdoor Journal Radio podcast
35:44
network uh wherever you pick up your podcast uh we'll be and and do you know
35:49
what day of the week you guys are going to be dropping that's probably a me thing too
35:55
Jamie so their old show was on Saturdays I believe right Jamie in the mornings Saturday yeah I think we're going to
36:01
keep that spot okay perfect perfect um are you guys as excited as we are I'm
36:07
super pumped you know we've been talking about this for a while uh We've started recording and and we've confirmed some
36:14
amazing guests which we have to keep secret but we are going to be covering I think before it was kind of a Canadian
36:20
show yeah now we brought in my American co-host and and now our guests are going
36:26
worldwide we're going to be breaking new barriers I know uh wow yeah different
36:32
continents different oceans and uh hunting and fishing so we're not just fishing so we're going to be talking to
36:38
some uh hunting guides as well I forgot to mention that very important Ryder tell us where you are right now so I'm
36:44
talking to you guys from North Carolina and as Jamie mentioned we've already started uh you know recording some of
36:50
the shows and and uh and we do have folks from all over the world coming in interesting people from interesting
36:55
places that are involved in the hunting world or the fishing world or even just
37:01
the conservation world and just interesting folks from NE neats fs and and um um and I'll bring obviously some
37:08
you know perspective of being in the Southeastern us you know was it what it's like to be a sports person down here and compare it to what you guys are
37:15
doing up in Canada by the way I have some great memories uh from North Carolina I had a very very very close
37:22
and dear friend of mine Derwood Hines he's since passed away um
37:28
what a wonderful part of the world you live in man I I absolutely love it as a as an outdoors person as somebody who
37:34
loves nature somebody who loves Hunting Fishing it's it's the place to be no question we're so we're so lucky you
37:41
know it's a great the southeast un un yes is a is a is a sports person's Paradise but North Carolina in
37:47
particular you know you've got the gosh you got the beach and the coast a couple hours to the East and then you got these
37:53
great mountains a couple hours to the west and everything in between and and uh what's really cool about it is you
37:59
know we kind of that North Georgia Western North Carolina that area catches
38:05
the very bottom of the applean mountains and so we actually get some of those Northern species of course that you guys
38:11
are lucky enough to chase every day whether it's smies or musky or rough Grouse whatever it is we actually get a
38:17
we get a little a little bit of that Northern uh you know sporting world even though we're in the South so it's a it's
38:23
a diverse and very interesting State uh how close are you to trying to think of um is it hannes city is there a city on
38:31
the coast there called hannes City I don't know I don't know hannes City but where I am in Charlotte we're probably
38:38
you know two to three hours from a Wilmington you know if you really if you get up early and you know grab a cup of
38:44
coffee and jump in the pickup you know you can be you can be casting at red fish in two and a half three hours from Charlotte which is really amazing and
38:52
then know I remember you and uh you and petan I remember you guys you know did a
38:57
couple shows maybe about the Ron Oak River and you know that's a couple hours up to the Northeast so it's you know
39:02
we're kind of right in the middle of the state so we got a little bit of access everything we also did uh on uh The
39:08
Outdoor Journal uh television program uh we did an episode and it was we just had
39:14
Time Of Our Lives we uh we went out on one of those shrimp trollers oh wow you
39:19
know one of those shrimp trollers and and it's an all night deal right so so we went out and uh we were the deck
39:26
hands was the premise of the episode so there was a captain the first mate and normally they have they would have three
39:33
deck hands that handle all of the rigging because they they they've got these first they got the Outriggers to
39:39
stabilize the boat but they've got this huge uh hoist uh hydraulic hoist with a
39:45
big arm and they got to pull all these nets up with it and dump them on the calling table so we were the callers we
39:52
we were for the night all night long that's what we did we were calling cuz they were they were obviously tired in
39:57
shrimp but inadvertently you you you get all that's one of the problems with that type of uh uh fishery is that it's not
40:05
it doesn't discriminate it catches whatever it's in its way oh sure it does so we we were and Pete and I being the
40:11
conservationist that we are we were like frantically releasing all these other
40:16
animals that were in the boat it was the most wonderful uh experience uh that I can
40:23
remember we collected 78 lbs of shrimp holy cow wow yeah that was what we had
40:30
in the morning to take to Market uh because there was a mark where where they come in with the boats the Market's
40:35
all there by the time you get in at 6:30 in the morning Market's thriving people are all all excited to see what the the
40:42
boats bring in and we brought in 78 pounds of shrimp it was oh that's amazing incredible that's a good that's
40:49
a good haul and you might remember when you guys were standing back there if you looked out behind as you're pulling
40:55
those Nets in you know you could look out behind the boat and you see all the Dorsal fins of the you know the bottl no
41:02
dolphin but also the big sharks F what really cool one of our secret you know
41:07
Jamie's not going to let me talk about it but one of our one of our guests that we're talking to is you know there's a whole fishery now of fly fishing for
41:15
sharks yeah and that's one of the things guys do now is you follow behind you know you're tucked right in behind those
41:22
Nets casting in at those big spinner sharks so it's a it's a quite an experience it's great great part of the
41:28
world sorry to get off track but I've some like I say some fond memories of uh
41:34
of uh that whole area all right so first thing uh Jamie I think you need to tell
41:40
the audience what happened so so we're we've got this great little show called The Tackle Box what what uh what
41:46
happened it was uh it was tough you know uh Brad Brad's got a new family member him and Laura brought their second child
41:53
to the world and and you know life happened so I think Brad went through uh
41:59
his work and then fishing and you know a lot on his plate so it was it was tough to coordinate schedules so unfortunately
42:05
we had to put The Tackle Box on hold and uh I'm trying to figure out the next
42:10
plan and I looked down at my you know bedside table and I saw a writer's book there I think we were talking on the phone and I said that's it I know it how
42:19
got go to the how did you guys meet uh Tinder no no just
42:25
kidding I like walks on the beach yeah I know I know yeah you like fly
42:31
fishing no no uh Ryder came up he's got some friends in Ottawa and uh we went
42:37
out chasing muskies in Smallmouth uh on one of the Ottawa River tributaries and uh there was just something about rder
42:43
you know he I told this on our first episode he's just such a outdoorsy guy and we I think we we laughed more than
42:50
we casted and we just had a wonderful day tell you the more I look at you two the more it is The Odd Couple though I
42:56
can just imagine you on a hey who's the neat guy and who's the obvious obviously you're you're Felix
43:03
right anyways fantastic I I love the uh the Dynamics that's going on with this
43:09
it's going to be fantastic um writer what what what do you do for a living I know I know Jamie
43:16
predominantly guides uh uh on the Ottawa River in other parts we were talking before we went to before we started
43:23
recording this program he's got some some gigs going on in Quebec and he's all over the place what what is that
43:30
that you do so my day job is commercial real estate and I've been doing that for you know what 30 years now and I did it
43:37
for a long time in Atlanta and about 10 years ago you know my family we all moved to charlot and that's where I've
43:44
been for the last 10 years and and uh you know and that's been a a good business in the Southeast because a lot
43:49
of those cities are growing and it's been a good place for that and I was was lucky that early on in my career I I um
43:56
you know was set taken clients for example golfing you know uh as as client
44:01
entertainment I would take them fly fishing yeah and it it did you know it it gave me a chance to go do things I
44:08
might not have been able to afford as a new young guy in the business you know I could tie it to work um and it um
44:13
exposed me to a lot of a lot of people in the fly fishing industry and that over the years has obviously opened
44:19
other doors for me and uh and and the author part came from yeah so I started
44:26
I'd say about 15 years ago I started writing uh articles in a number of outdoor magazines um even there was a
44:33
Canadian magazine I did a couple articles for called Mountain Hunter it's uh published out of Vancouver and um and
44:40
the and these were stories of of trips that I have you know have taken to some very remote places and and and and had
44:47
some interesting adventures and I did I did the magazine thing kind of as a weekend hobby kind of like a weekend
44:53
warrior you know part-time thing and and um uh uh but the guides was my first
44:58
book that project really started as a passion it's it's a collection of stories as you know and a collection of
45:04
stories of guides and Outfitters who live in these remote really crazy remote places and over time you know I would
45:12
collect their stories not my stories but their stories and eventually assembled it together into a book and and um and
45:18
so about two years ago the GU got published and and um and I really made the transition from writing magazine
45:25
articles really focusing more on specific book publication oh it's a it's it it just connects you know the
45:32
outdoors the adventures a book is just I I shouldn't be saying that because I've made a
45:38
living from television obviously um but but there's something
45:43
about the written word in a in a nice book well put together well articulated
45:50
that allows the the reader of that book to really immerse themselves in those
45:57
Adventures totally unlike television or video or podcasting something about
46:03
reading it on that paper that transforms the person for it doesn't matter where they are they could be you know
46:09
commuting on on a train it just takes them to that very spot that you uh that
46:15
you're talking about and I don't I don't think that'll ever end I think there's always going to be a place for a book
46:22
especially hard cover book like a real good uh I think they'll live forever ever you know it's funny one of the
46:29
changes one of the things I had to learn was that you know the audience when you're write an article for a magazine
46:34
let's say Mountain hter out of Vancouver you know the folks that are going to pick up that magazine and read it are
46:40
people who are into you know of course Mountain hunting you know and you know who your audience is going to be for the
46:46
most part when you're writing an article for a magazine with a book you have no idea and if anything I I really I was I
46:52
was wanting to I I wanted folks who you know obviously there were in the sport world to enjoy it but I really also was
46:58
hoping to connect with people that weren't necessarily in the fishing world or weren't necessarily you know in the
47:04
hunting world but just liked a good story and so that was kind of a new that was a new experience for me you know
47:09
really trying to apply the writing to a much broader audience and that's um and it's been well-received that way I love
47:15
it I get those comments that you're saying you know from folks who are fishermen and Hunters as well as non you
47:21
know non non- fishing and hunting people yeah uh you're not doing any publishing these days
47:28
I I've written for outdoor Canada too so that is one thing we have in can in common Ryder and I I've written for
47:34
kayak angler a couple other magazines and you know kind of I got a couple little things on the go but other other
47:40
projects so I remember when I was fishing with Ryder for the first time you know as guides between fish you kind
47:46
of you have to entertain right you got eight nine 10 hours on the water so I was telling a story and I turn around
47:52
and Ryder's typing away and his you were not I'm kidding he told me I told the
47:59
story well what sucks is I would bring my typewriter you know you think I would have a laptop out that 20 lb typewriter
48:04
on a out a fishing book it's a little cumbersome but so many good stories in
48:09
that book and and you know I think the whole premise of her podcast is if you've worked in the outdoors for long
48:16
enough whether it be as a a hunter or an angler you have stories there's always funny things that happen and crazy
48:22
things and Good the Bad and the Ugly right yeah and it's such an important part of that whole outing you know
48:28
whether it's a guide client relationship whether it's a couple of buddies a couple husband and wife father child
48:37
whatever that that combo is it's all part of the outing you know is sharing
48:44
of these stories and and of course obviously you're creating your own stories while you're sharing them that's
48:49
probably as important if uh if not even more so now you were saying you were teasing us a little bit I'm not going to
48:55
hold your feet to the fire but um you were saying that you're going to have some pretty uh interesting
49:01
guests or high-profile guests or I'm not even I don't remember how you worded it but is there anything that you can share
49:08
with us in that area can you in other words who are you targeting as as
49:13
uh people to bring on as guests on this show I think people that have great
49:20
stories and and a good passion for the outdoor so we've you know we've spoken to tuna Hunters we've we've perfect we
49:28
spoke down we got a show on invasive pythons in the Everglades and as well as
49:34
some other Everglade action and then sharks you know a lot of things that people Google people want to listen to
49:40
so we might even broaden out our audience from people who might not even be hunters and Anglers but somebody
49:46
wants to hear about pythons or sharks or you know some of the craziest a real species that are out there a real
49:53
departure from the previous podcast which was predominantly uh athletes and sports celebrities so
50:00
you guys are going for the what I would consider the meat and potato type of a
50:05
of a guest like the the outdoor uh users adventurers that kind of thing I I think
50:11
it's wonderful it's fantastic well and Jamie you know he went from having a a real athlete as say as his co-host to
50:18
you know a weekend uh potato chip watching the football game kind of guy so exct he had to make that departure as
50:25
well we got something else comment out you're riding a potato chips I'm in you you both love them huh I I'm with you
50:32
are you guys going to spend any time together uh over the course of this year
50:37
sharing a boat I think hopefully yeah July maybe
50:43
he Jamie yeah and I'm I'm working on a southern trip as well so it be it would be cool to do a home in home and then we
50:49
can get together live and do some some get togethers um got a local restaurant
50:54
that we might be able to do a breakfast so people can come and uh maybe get some
51:00
books and hear some stories yeah that would be outstanding to do that a home in home kind of thing um that would be
51:06
especially if you go to the Rowan Oak I is this still is this still cranking out uh striper after striper and you know
51:13
what's crazy about this year is the size of the stripers are 20% bigger than
51:19
we've had in years you know the r o it's incredible I mean that those five you know those five
51:27
five six 10B stripers that you and Pete were catching those fish this year for whatever reason are 10 to 15 pounds 10
51:36
to 20 pounds um and who knows what happens with the stripers each year I you know it's a it's such a crazy random
51:43
thing but um one of our you know one of our guests we've been talking to is one of the one of the striper guides over
51:48
there and pictures I'm seeing you you wouldn't believe the size that are coming in this year's run crazy yeah
51:54
that's great that's great because I was a a period of time there just pre
51:59
pandemic um where I was talking to folks down there and there was some concern
52:05
about the striper runs you know the water levels were low there was all kinds of theories as to why but it
52:12
seemed like for a couple of years that that and ironically during that same
52:18
time when when uh both South North and South Carolina and probably all up the
52:23
Eastern Seaboard we're experiencing low numbers of stripers up here in Canada on
52:29
our Atlantic Coast man it was it they just blossomed it just it they it
52:35
created a whole new industry because it almost seemed like those fish had moved North and there was speculation that you
52:43
know uh warming uh global warming and temperature change and all that stuff had driven those fish farther up the
52:50
coast into their rivers in other words they were moving from their traditional spawning areas and and coming up North
52:57
but I'm thrilled to death to hear that uh your fishery down there is still doing well and getting better by the
53:02
sounds of it Fant yeah this year for sure you know and it's funny you say that because the last couple years you
53:07
know the news down here has been negative where it's been positive for you guys and I'd say it's that's been the case from Connecticut all the way
53:14
down through the East Coast you know where the stripers and numbers are down the ronoke as you know is a big Shad run
53:20
in the shed runs always good in the r No but yeah it's it's it's definitely positive to see fit not only the numbers
53:27
but some sizes here so we'll see where that goes fantastic well there you go Jamie that's where you're going to do part two I think we might need an weigh
53:34
in way now I didn't just been hiding out about these big stripers he just said they're regular size now that I know
53:39
they're double yeah yeah have you guys uh caught stripers on the Fly either one
53:45
of you oh yeah many I've never caught a striper you've never caught a striper on
53:50
my list oh my God yeah we can fix that for you Jamie
53:56
not much better I'll tell you but I I only ask you that question cuz I can't even
54:02
imagine I can't even imagine uh 10 or 12 never mind 30 and 3540 but a 10 or 12 PB
54:09
striper on the Fly I I can't even imagine that oh yeah it's like hooking into a scoo I mean you just it's pure
54:17
muscle it's like those little Alby tunon fly you know it's just pure muscle great fun that's Fant good use of the Canadian
54:24
lingo eh a skoo reference on
54:29
us oh I was trying I look for my Rush t-shirt like you know I I pulled out one of the old concert t-shirts and it was
54:35
three sizes too small so you know I got to get a new one they do sh with the money you spend on that kind of stuff
54:42
you would think the damn thing would last two or three years before it starts shrinking right I have the same problem
54:49
I I don't understand it can't figure it out yeah I guess you get what you pay for huh that's right yeah

56:09

56:15
pumped um quickly tell folks where uh Jamie where they can reach out to you if
56:21
anybody's looking to uh get some expertise especially on the Ottawa River
56:26
in area uh I'd love to say especially for for garpike but I know you do more
56:32
than just that but to me you're always you'll always be the garpike guy because
56:37
that's it's because I smell so good no you can get a hold of me risings
56:43
suncharter doca that's my website we have a new um Untamed Pursuits Instagram
56:48
page too so we got 100 new followers in our first day so I don't know what happened but if you have any questions
56:54
for the show feel free free to give us a follow and drop us a DM we're going to be uh we already got a couple questions
57:00
come through so we might have to do a Q&A show sooner than later nice be
57:05
before I let you go though let's just quickly uh talk about that uh Ottawa River fishery uh in particular garpike
57:12
but musky and all the rest of the species that you chase up there tell us a little bit about it it's a we have a a
57:20
unique fishery there's so many different species of fish and and basically starting you know from early May right
57:27
till it freezes up there's always something to catch so whether you want to get Chase some Gars either on flyer
57:33
and spitting gear in the shallows or go chase muskies last year was a banner year for Walley we caught so many big
57:39
Walley and and I can't tell you how shallow two feet are under but you
57:45
know the uh we had a lot of those um we lost a bunch of trips due to the smoke
57:51
from the north yeah right but including our trip you and I year and we got
57:56
smoked out but the smoke I I'm probably going to pay for it later but I was the
58:02
only one out there and the Walley were up Shallow and feeding like crazy it
58:07
kind of mimicked the end of the day all day so you know the witching hour was all day um I'm sure I'll be coughing up
58:14
something in a few years from now but I gotta tell you it was worth it that's unusual though isn't it the the Ottawa
58:20
River you know somebody talking about walleye is it not up until now I don't
58:26
think I've ever heard anybody or you know underlying walleye on the Ottawa River it's just not been uh it's usually
58:33
bass obviously musky a GARP hike karp karp as well carp yeah um and we got
58:40
some nice northern pike as well so and you know even I do a lot of trips with
58:46
families somebody wants to go wet a line you know we'll go jig for some Walley or Bass and then catfish and moon eyes and
58:53
also there's a whole bunch of stuff up there I don't I don't even know about that stuff I hooked the rainbow right
58:59
off in the p uh two years ago and I guess they do a winter thing they had a
59:04
net and a couple of rainbows got out so I hooked the rainbow and I was blown away but you never know what you're going to catch in the Ottawa but we do
59:10
have some trophy Fisheries you know gar musk are some of the biggest in in the world and so you make the time uh all
59:15
summer long to take guests out uh is there a particular time that you're you're available is it all summer they
59:22
can just hook up with you give you I got a couple of dates left it is I'm starting as soon as it gets warm out the
59:27
phone starts ringing so the phone's been ringing but uh I could always squeeze some folks in I don't like sleeping and
59:33
uh I do fish on my days off too so I know that for a fact uh but you we we were talking uh before we started taping
59:40
today um we were talking about uh how difficult you know guiding people don't
59:46
realize just how difficult being a guide a good guide by the way there's guides and then there's guides let's be
59:52
perfectly honest about it and and I would say one out of maybe 50 I would consider to be a good guide
59:59
because guiding is a very very very special Pursuit and people don't
1:00:05
understand that and it and it pisses me off sometimes you know we go to a lot of lodges and and and I know a lot of
1:00:10
people that are operators owners of resorts and that kind of thing and and
1:00:16
um it it kind of pisses me off that that uh the qualifications for guiding is so
1:00:23
low and I mean I don't mean hurt anybody's feelings but and I've worked with you Jamie so so I'm putting you
1:00:32
obviously in that area where where I think a person needs to be to be a guide
1:00:38
um but it seems like there's a shortage of good guides am I right or am I wrong is it it it it seems like everywhere you
1:00:45
go there's there's you know those 10 non-qualified and maybe one good
1:00:51
solid guide and it's not just about by the way I want to clarify that this is not about fish catching abilities that's
1:00:58
not what a guide is a guide is a guide right so a guide guide it's like it it's
1:01:06
like any other Pursuit whether you're you know climbing the a mountain with a guide or whether
1:01:13
you're you know floating a river the in the Amazon with a guide a guide is supposed to guide you to your experience
1:01:19
and make that experience the most wonderful thing so you talk about it for the rest of your life find that like
1:01:27
that that area uh of guiding is kind of Gone by the wayside and I think it's
1:01:32
because of under qualifications I mean what makes in your opinion Jamie I'll
1:01:38
I'll speak to you first what is the most important part about guiding in your opinion I think listening um and and
1:01:46
talking to the guests beforehand and try to figure out their expectations you know I always want to catch big muskies
1:01:52
but I've learned some people are happy with catching 50 bluegills instead or going for crappy or catching a few bass
1:01:58
or a bike so if you can figure out what their what what's going to make their day great not your day yeah I think
1:02:04
that's that's the first thing and then trying to listen and you know if you might have somebody that hey I might need to go to the washroom I might you
1:02:10
know I need to drink a lot of water just try to have everything that you might need for your day yeah um and listen I
1:02:18
think listening's key you've got to take something away from from a guide I know Ryder you've you've had guides all over
1:02:24
the world uh uh both in fishing and hunting I think every experience you have to take something home that was
1:02:31
special unique to that guide right yeah
1:02:36
I think that's right you know you hit it right on the head end you know it's it's hunting and fishing It's not catching
1:02:43
and shooting you know in other words the guy you know that guide is there to you
1:02:48
know do give give you their best and to um to take you to a an environment
1:02:56
whether that's a part of a river system or you know maybe an area with great genetics for white tail or whatever it
1:03:01
is but you know take you to a place where you have a chance to go after what it is whatever it is you're pursuing uh
1:03:08
but but that's about you know that's what their job is to do is to put you in those positions but they're not there to
1:03:15
guarantee you're catching a fish and they're they're sure not there to guarantee you're going to go shoot a white tail and um you know for me the
1:03:22
parts of those days that I love and that I bring home a lot of times have nothing to do with catching a fish or shooting a
1:03:28
deer it's all those other things you know heck Jimmy and I happen to hit it off going after musky and I'm still you
1:03:34
know I'm still a uh you know a uh you know I have I've yet to land my first
1:03:39
musky on fly but man we had an awesome day and we'll keep doing it in other words it'll be a journey that Jamie and
1:03:44
I do together and it's about so much more than just catching that fish so for me a good guide is somebody that knows
1:03:50
the environment respects it and understands it so you can learn about these places you go you're not just
1:03:55
there to catch of fish I I've got a rule and it's a pet peeve of mine and Dean
1:04:00
and I Dean was a guide when he was younger as well um and him and I have
1:04:05
talked about this on several occasions in in my world and let's talk about
1:04:11
fishing for just a moment um a guide does not touch a rod a guide does not touch a rod there's
1:04:19
no reason I can't think of one possible reason except maybe if if you're
1:04:26
marooned or stranded and you need sustenance and the the the client just
1:04:32
does not have the wherewithal to figure out what it takes to get a fish then
1:04:39
maybe the guide picks up a rod but under any other circumstance to
1:04:46
me guy doesn't even bring a rod out that that's my world that's what what is in
1:04:52
my head and whenever I work with folks I bring folks out on a boat or or whether
1:04:58
they're they're we don't do any guiding but we a lot of times we'll auction off our
1:05:03
services um for a good cause and so we we take people out for the day or or in
1:05:09
the case in a couple of weeks we're taking four guys up near laxo in
1:05:14
Northern Ontario for the experience of a lifetime um I don't pick up a rod what
1:05:20
in the world would I what business do I have picking up a rod
1:05:26
you know the experience is theirs it's not mine I think another thing I never
1:05:33
put down other guides too I've been in I've gone on a lot of guided trips as well and the last thing you want to hear
1:05:39
about is a guide B nothing all the competition and talk about how great they are like if you've been guiding for
1:05:45
a while you're doing something right and I'd rather just have a positive environment than listen to somebody who's complaining about everybody else
1:05:52
right so it just behooves I've seen because of the amount of you know places
1:05:58
that we've been I've seen guides outmuscle their client for the front of the boat i' I've seen guides I've
1:06:06
witnessed guides who are on the back with the trolling motor in hand and the
1:06:11
and the Fish Finder sonar right with and I've seen them position their boat over
1:06:18
top of the fish and and the guest is out fishing empty water and he's back here just having a whale of a Time ah man I
1:06:26
just want to scream when I see that I want to scream but anyways enough of
1:06:32
that I'm once again I'm way off uh way off the subject um listen guys we're
