0:52
kinds he's on fire it's going to be a good show uh welcome to program Outdoor Journal Radio the podcast angela Viola
1:00
Peter Bowman the usual cast of characters on the other side of the camera come on now we'll mention them
1:07
later if they behave themselves oh and if not what do we We just pretended to
1:13
avoid them yeah okay completely i like that completely the start anyways right there's a bunch of [ __ ] oh boy oh
1:19
boy we're under fire today uh wonderful program joining us a little later
1:27
down the timeline is our good friend Steven Tate the uh insider for the
1:33
marina industry vice president of Maple Leaf
1:38
Marinas got a great podcast voice too he's got the best voice i used to love
1:43
having him on the radio show because he had the very best radio voice on the planet yeah very good and didn't even
1:50
realize it no he has no idea hello ladies oh my god really they would melt
1:58
uh he last joined us on episode 94 we talked about winterizing yearboat so we don't need to go into that with him how
2:05
about spring arising summerrising spring rising there is spring arising i believe there is there is things that you should
2:11
do certainly there is absolutely we get we're prepping we're ready we're we're chomping at the bit to get them rigs in
2:18
floating and going uh-huh uh but first you should go to fishingcanada.com the
2:23
gateway the portal to your next fishing adventure because you also need to garb
2:28
up yeah yeah you need like a nice hoodie like that to hit the water in the spring so as soon as that boat is out you're
2:34
not going to be out there in the middle of the summer you're probably going to try and push it a little bit and get out there in these cool days in the spring it's a cold spring by the way nothing
2:40
like the hoodies for for that time of year yeah layer it up yeah and uh there are a plethora of hoodies on
2:49
fishingcanada.com store word plethora that's a cool word i heard a cool word
2:54
the other day what the hell was it i forgot already i got to record everything in my life you heard a word
3:00
it was awesome and you forgot the word it was i said "My god what a wonderful such a great word." And you never heard
3:05
the word before in your life you know I had but but but it didn't uh the
3:10
scenario wasn't just this time it just resonated with me as to what a wonderful
3:16
word it was and I said I must use that word remember that word and how you make
3:21
note on that so far real good that's why I haven't got it
3:27
uh shop.fishingcanada.com that's where you need to be uh to get all of your goodies
3:33
wow that's it yeah listener feedback Mr bowman listener feedback via Instagram
3:40
in response to our podcast Ned Rigs Catch Musky
3:45
james Hand stated "I've caught more musky fishing for bass than fishing for
3:51
musky." I believe that one because I know I have too uh can fishing the jig
3:57
we get more Corus musky fishing on uh jig bass fishing than we do with throwing musky baits that's a true one i
4:04
have I mean that is a huge one for an I we've done that Joel Desmari I guess
4:10
desmarice desmaries desmar so oh there's so many similarities between musky
4:15
fishing and bass fishing take any of your favorite bass lures upize upsize the [ __ ] out of them and voila musky
4:23
lure is so true that is true I mean when you think about it I mean aside from maybe your your inline bucktails cuz
4:29
bass anglers don't do a whole lot of that but that doesn't I mean maybe we
4:36
The point is I mean yeah we got a lot of response on that that one little statement a question that somebody has
4:42
sent in on that podcast and it's true i mean these muskies these big predators a
4:47
lot of times will go for downsized baits and it's just and I think
4:53
the notion that big musky can only be caught in big water like deep water it's
4:59
not necessarily the case oh god i mean there's a lake not far from where we are right now that's got gigantic musky and
5:06
the average depth of the lake is less than 8 ft so it's not necessarily a deep water or
5:13
big water fish and it is definitely a an
5:19
ambush predator so when you are fishing for bass which is also an ambush
5:25
predator it's not uncommon to get the two especially on that lake as you've seen right we've been so many times we
5:30
fish for bass in tournaments for fun on that lake and all of a sudden just crack if if you're lucky to get it in you see
5:36
you know well Nick caught a giant on a 40 plus inch musky on a spinner bait on that lake you know what I mean 4 ft of
5:42
water yeah so it happens all the time so anyways it's a very interesting subject and it's going to keep on happening
5:47
because they're predators like says they're going to when they're hungry and something puts in front of their nose even if it's a dead rig they're going to eat it if they're hungry and and weeds
5:54
you know we they love hanging around any area that's got weeds because that's perfect ambush country mhm right so and
6:02
speaking about weeds uh Mr bowman yes conservation Corner brought to you by
6:07
the Invasive Species Center come on now it's the weed carp you could call it the
6:13
weed carp grass carp grass carp nasty as one of
6:19
four species of invasive Asian carp and it has the potential to out not only out
6:26
compete uh anything else in its environment but the biggest problem is that very same cover that we were just
6:33
talking about for musky and bass well that's what they eat you know that's interesting these grass carp that have
6:40
no teeth could wipe out a musky population yeah think about that one yeah that's bizarre too crazy um and not
6:48
just musky but you know northern pike walleye i mean all of our what we regard
6:54
as gamefish rely on weeds at one time in their life whether it's early in the
7:00
season late in the year during the season they rely on weed and weed cover
7:06
and weed growth for a number of reasons that's what's at stake is that weed
7:13
growth and of course if you remove that weed growth then obviously you're going to damage those the whole system falls
7:19
for sure these things can eat up to 40% of their body weight and they can get up to 80 lbs in size so that's a that's a
7:26
lot in a day sorry I should say that in a day you know what I mean so they're eating machines and they're ready to rip
7:32
apart your legs so obviously we have to be diligent and and um know what they look like
7:38
pictures like this put pictures in your phone go to uh the invasive species center ascarp.ca get as much information
7:45
as you possibly can and then if you do encounter something like this then you do the appropriate uh get rid of them uh
7:53
mode get them gone put them go get them gone baby
7:59
uh in the news uh brought to you by J&B uh outdoor specialist outdoor superstore
8:07
uh J&B Cycle Ontario's largest Princecraft Mercury dealer in case you hadn't been told that yet 90,000 times
8:15
here on this show uh but they are they've been around since 1970 which makes Wow yeah long
8:21
established company uh not only can you buy an outboard motor there you can buy a boat rigged complete with said
8:27
outboard motor outboard motor and boat packages pontoon packages anything that
8:32
floats uh they will have available for you uh check them out at J andB
8:39

8:46
but well you don't want to put that amperand in there or anything like that and you might have to hand amperand amperand isn't that what it's called wow
8:53
i think that's Wow look at you you never cease to amaze me you see I should have had you with me when I heard that great
8:59
word there's a new word of the day for you so there you go remember that got to ask you tomorrow i'm going to ask you in
9:06
the next Never mind tomorrow as soon as we're done this spot uh that's
9:13
jbcycle.com jbcycle.com check them all out uh March
9:20
28th in Melbourne Florida i didn't even know there was a Melbourne i was just about to say the same thing you're
9:26
thinking Australia aren't you australia aussie 59year-old Donna Marie Elkins aka
9:32
Karen aka Karen freaking Karen this one was arrested for allegedly threatening
9:40
two teenage boys aged 13 and 15 with a pellet gun as they fished near her
9:46
backyard and we've all been either part of or have heard the stories where
9:52
you're fishing somebody's shoreline or somebody's dock and the guy will come out usually a guy i've never had I've
9:58
never had a woman come out and scream at me but a guy will come out and say "Hey don't fish there those are my fish." You
10:06
know and sometimes depending bought them paid for them right sometimes you kind of shake your head and say "No sir
10:12
they're really not your fish nor is this your water." And um yes I can fish here
10:19
sometimes and other times depending we've moved away from situations like that too before but um very seldom is it
10:28
a woman and very seldom would that woman come out with a gun come running out of the house with a pellet guns where she
10:35
reportedly pointed the plet gun at the boys and threatened to get this quote blow their heads
10:41
off with a plet gun there you go oh good old Karen the boys were ordered to lie
10:49
on the ground for approximately 5 minutes until uh her husband intervene
10:55
and disarmed her the pond where the boys were fishing was about 30 ft from her
11:01
property line in an area owned by the community development district so it wasn't really her property really which
11:08
is in most cases that's exactly what happens people have a perceived uh ownership to stuff that they shouldn't
11:15
right dean looked this up even in Florida there's a there's a mount of shoreline on these ponds where we stay down there in those ponds apparently the
11:21
shoreline around them yeah where they have like all the like enclosed backyards the the ponds that are behind
11:27
those always with all the cranes and stuff those ones are public you can access them but I guess she didn't want
11:33
them there so wow she felt she felt that was her pond I guess wow now she faces
11:38
two counts of aggravated assault without intent to kill well kind of although she did threat pretty much I guess well I
11:45
guess you got to say you're going to kill them right blow your heads out maybe you'd live maybe they could live like zombies or something maybe and two
11:53
counts of false imprisonment because she held them you know on the ground at gunpoint uh she was released on $25,000
12:01
bond with an arraignment schedule for April 22nd we're have to keep an eye on that yeah that's that mark that one down
12:07
we got to shut uh and see what the next I wonder what the I know as as a a
12:13
kid as a kid I think I had a bolted i don't think she'd have got me on the ground cuz I as a random like if it was
12:18
me and a buddy me and you one of us is going to take a pellet in the ars cuz it's a single shot gun but you don't know you don't know it's a pellet gun
12:25
though yeah you do you know a pellet gun when you see it i'm telling you if somebody comes running out pointing a
12:30
gun at you I'm going to blow your head off i don't know it's I'm not willing to take that chance nowadays maybe but I
12:36
still might run either i think I'd run like a mofo i'd say f you Karen boom i'd
12:42
be gone yeah no I don't think that would be a wise idea wow didn't you have
12:48
somebody take a shot at you rocks if you fish my dock I'll throw a rock i said he
12:54
said and I quoted Don Cherry i guess Don Cherry might have said that somewhere in his day because this is what he was quoting you know what Don Cherry says
13:01
and so I said and I wasn't even at his dock yet i was going to go into the area and fish the docks if I could if there
13:07
was no pe no people on it but he walked out there with the intent of that and he had a pile of rocks on his dock waiting
13:12
for said like-minded people like myself so he started firing the freaking
13:19
rocks at me at a distance and I had two guys on the boat that hardly fished at
13:24
all so this is their introduction to fishing this happens all the time oh
13:29
yeah it's a daily basis but yeah obviously for him to have rocks on his dock this is uh something that has been
13:36
haunting him for some time keeps the area for the kids the whole bay this whole bay he said it was for the kids
13:42
fishing an entire bay like 20 cottages around him but you know what I mean no I know but it's a slippery slope because
13:48
you have you have to understand the motivation behind a guy like that
13:54
right he honestly the motivation maybe but the the the follow through yeah you don't throw rocks at anybody you don't
14:01
do any of that you ask them kindly guys I'd really appreciate it i got a bunch of kids that come up on the weekend i'd
14:08
gladly not touch his doc when he did that gladly but that I mean that turned into a [ __ ] show where I answer
14:13
eventually I punched my GPS waypoint on the the on the boat and then punched it
14:19
into a car and then I went back got his address and called the cops on him said "Piss off you contankerous old prick."
14:27
Yeah you know so anyways if if you run into a situation like that it's just
14:34
back off you know at the end of the day it's fishing supposed to be fun mhm
14:39
pleasurable right not confrontational if the idiot wants to keep his dock to
14:46
himself then there's any given lake has got a trillion docks on it surely to God
14:52
you can leave one of them alone unless you want to make a point like you did call the cops and get the guy i mean I
14:59
wouldn't have called the cops if he told me not to fish the dock even if he was an [ __ ] and was it was a verbal
15:04
confrontation i still wouldn't have called the cops i'd have just said back what I felt too and it would have been done and over with but when he starts
15:10
doing that that's when I call the cops right so you start doing that [ __ ] don't
15:16
fan question of the week brought to you by and not that we haven't we beat that
15:21
one up good dean keep an eye on that because when uh the court date of April 22nd Yeah uh I want to know what what uh
15:28
they turned that around pretty quick down there yeah that that's a little different than what we got up here oh there's not like up here we about that
15:35
one three years down the road on that baby minimum god we have a shitty legal system in
15:43
this country oh boy they just not legal system justice system moneym system that's all it is it's a money making
15:49
machine is designed for one thing and one thing only yep keeping certain
15:55
people employed yep that's all it is yes sir but I won't get into that because that could lead to all kinds of other
16:02
complications which we don't want to get into no come on now we don't like complications fan question of the week
16:07
brought to you by fishfinderbounce.com fishfinder.com
16:12
i believe they have they have a podcast coming up pretty soon I believe wow yeah
16:18
there going to be guests and a couple of guys like us that really need to know stuff and Wow i didn't even know that
16:24
and you found you find this out how how do you do that i look at the calendar oh
16:29
all right and I speak and I speak to certain the people in the know oh all right well that's good to know i just
16:36
need to know I guess what I need to know right now and exactly this moment and and because I'll forget the [ __ ] anyway
16:43
so what's the stance think about it what's the sense what's the word for the and sign
16:52
uh this this question was submitted fan question by the way brought to you by uh
16:58
fishfindermouse.com wow where are those folks barely did you see the picture behind you oh yeah
17:06
because that has to do with the fan question of the uh week submitted by at
17:13
Darren Marie 2125 via YouTube the lady I think is Darien Darian darien Darien i
17:21
think so yeah okay that's fine you don't have to be embarrassed about it wouldn't be the first time you corrected me um
17:29
via YouTube which is that that's a good thing right that means it qualifies for our prize so she's a Darien Marie if
17:37
it's a she or a he it's a she it said on the thing oh it did say in the thing yeah you can tell me these things
17:43
publicly it's fine hey if the and sign is an amperand what's the amperand that was the word I was looking for what's
17:49
the at sign called i think they just call it the at i don't know if there's a name for it hey you see good questions
17:55
come out of me sometimes oh yeah you don't qualify for the the prize i I should get the prize if this question
18:00
doesn't get qualification then I'm in i'm uh I'm there you are jam-packed with
18:06
useful information you know it Bubba uh she says "Hey my husband Katon." Wow
18:14
with double E that's interesting katon uh and I were dis Now did you spell that
18:20
correctly was that mine there's no double oh double yeah yeah yeah yeah that's the way you spell K i thought it
18:25
was EA K katon is EA anyways this one's double E i'm assuming it's correct if
18:32
not somebody will correct us uh my husband Katon and I were discussing the
18:38
show its duration and how it's changed over the years from our childhood to
18:43
adulthood we were uh actually really curious on Reno's position on retiring
18:50
from the show do you Oh from fishing from fishing wow i don't know whether he did that or not but anyways uh do you uh
18:57
really ever retire from fishing question question mark lol also do you think he'd
19:03
return as a guest on the show podcast again show/podcast again so multiple
19:10
what what she's done here I think is tried to cover her ass right ask three
19:16
or four questions all in one because hopefully one of them will qualify her how many question marks you got one two
19:22
three question marks that's what I mean so there's actually three questions which she says there's no disguising
19:28
violate the the U contest a double negative is a positive so a double
19:35
question mark makes it a non-qu question but now she's got a third in there so now it confuses the issue i think she's
19:40
got back to a question now i think she's brought it back into the world of questions yeah yeah all right yeah
19:45
double all right all right give her the win give her the win go for it give her the win now give her the answer you know
19:52
better than anybody with Reno so I I don't know where the notion that
19:57
Reno retired from fishing came from yeah I think that's uh it's never been I
20:03
don't I don't recall ever having heard or said that i know well it almost feels
20:09
like it the way we talk to him and he hardly gets out ever you know what I mean so So um would he ever be a guest
20:16
on the show slashodcast again well we recently had him on the podcast
20:22
and we have invited him on the show and I believe I I stand to be corrected but
20:27
I believe he has accepted uh being on the show this coming for our 40th right
20:34
our 40 we're hoping so so fingers crossed we will have him on a Fishing
20:40
Canada episode that will be airing in 2026 but he has been on the podcast a few
20:46
times great great episodes yes so he has not that we know of he has not retired from fishing that's what we're saying he
20:53
has retired from the show only but fishing we're going to find out if we get him on the show it'll be fun if we
21:00
get him on the show we're going to have a blast uh if we survive it that's the
21:05
only But no we'll have to we'll have to see all right the main segment of the
21:12
show our Marine Insider will be joining us uh but first I just want to remind folks right there my friend small home
21:19
for all things outdoors uh including fishing rods reels camping anything
21:24
really I mean bird watching you would go to sail if you're a bird watcher would you not you have the binoculars you need
21:30
the scopes you need all kinds of things canoes uh tents you can watch
21:36
birds out of your kayak and canoe double up on it you probably could sneaking in
21:42
there the bird watching deal going on day uh head on over to the sale store
21:47
near you of course uh if you don't have one near you we we are fortunate enough to have one here um you can always go to
21:54
sale.ca that's s a l.ca for all your outdoor needs uh I'm told that they
22:02
might have some sales going on at sale right now mobile double sale double sale
22:07
all right our Marina Insider joins us now now he is vice president of Maple Leaf Marinas a frequent guest on Outdoor
22:13
Journal whenever we need to know uh Steve is our man last time he was here
22:19
we talked about winterizing your boat we've done that a few times haven't we Steve yes we sure have winter seem to
22:26
keep coming here in Canada that's right yep um so before we get into
22:33
uh the obvious things I do want to just touch upon this tariff business a little
22:38
bit if we could because I've had a lot of calls from buddies who are looking to buy a boat and they're saying "What's
22:43
going to happen if should I jump in right now if I wait are we going to be hitting you know increased prices what's
22:50
going on?" Give us a a bit of a sense of what's going on in the business yeah for
22:55
sure you know I I think it's like to be candid I think it's like any business right up now there's a lot of
23:01
noise in general um but so far there you know there hasn't been any direct impact in our industry and uh now is a great
23:08
time to buy a boat i mean there's decent inventory levels in stock and uh I think pretty much you could find everything
23:13
you know a person would want on the ground uh at one of our dealerships so
23:18
great time to buy and then outside of that I mean you know we're running into 8 to 12 weeks to summer anyway and even
23:23
without noise out there uh it takes that long to simply make a boat so you know
23:29
if you're looking to grab something for summer it's a great time to do it right now anyway so that you can have it for that time would the the price of your So
23:36
your inventory you got US boats in all your little marinas right now for sale right now are they going to be affected
23:42
at all too is it going to say "Oh well the things might be good might be bad might be ugly maybe we should bump the price up with this." They're not they
23:48
don't have a tariff on them obviously right they're in here and there should be no tariff on those there's you know it depends on how do you say this where
23:54
the tiff the tariff hits in the supply chain right like certain manufacturers build quicker than others certain have
24:00
stock um you know certain aren't made in America i mean it's spread all across
24:06
the board so yeah I think it's more so again going back to the regular things of it takes 8 to 12 weeks to make a boat
24:13
you know generally inflation isn't flat year-over-year so the price of anything is going to go up slightly so you know
24:19
again it's you know memories and time are not replaceable right so now is a great time to just get into it and make
24:25
sure you're ready for the season so anybody going to one of the many marinas
24:31
uh under the Maple Leaf brand anybody that's buying a boat should probably
24:37
think in terms of buying a boat that's on the floor or in the pipeline somewhere in the in the pipeline yeah i
24:44
mean we carry such a wide variety of boats in stock that you know I really do feel we have a a boat for everybody but
24:51
if there isn't something you you know particularly like or there's something you've always had your heart set on it's
24:56
still you know kind of regular day-to-day business and as long as you did it right now we could still get you something for summer that that's for
25:03
sure steve if you are you like kind of like a car dealership or that all your marinas work together so um Oh I want a
25:09
so and so boat fishing boat but I don't have any air on this property but you know what let me look it up and you can find one somewhere else on your other
25:16
property that yeah that'll be perfect is that the way you work or how does that work yeah 100% i mean it's it's a you
25:23
know a little bit of a peak under the skirt to how the architecture works is um sales you know you're almost buying
25:29
in a sense from Maple Leaf Marinas itself you know through one of our dealerships and it gives you that support network and brand offering of
25:35
the you know 20 plus brands we carry um but at the same time when you know you've been a slip customer with us
25:42
you've stored with us for 20 plus years under that you know um individualized name such as like say Walkers Point
25:47
Marina or Gord Bay Marine um you know Maple Leaf is more of a support and scalability system for our marine at
25:53
that point so we want the customers to have a great relationship with our general managers and our general
25:59
managers sales manager service managers are all empowered to be like owners of the dealership and they have those
26:04
individual relationships with the customers um you know I hope to have as many as I can but it's a little bit harder with so many of the marinas you
26:11
can only be so many places at once so we try we try to marry you know the best positives of having you know a big
26:18
network and a big business from a support scalability standpoint but from an interaction cultural standpoint it's
26:25
much more the individualized Marina brand and they're empowered as if it's their business so when we hear comments uh from people
26:32
like Rick Lzelle the president of the Canadian Marine Retailers Association I mean he's uh he's been quoted as uh
26:40
basically saying the sky is going to fall in if this does happen uh in fact he goes on to say that there's a 25%
26:46
margin there isn't a 25% margin about so the industry doesn't have the ability to absorb the tariff and uh the consumer is
26:54
going to have to pay for it at this point it's all based on speculation that it's even going to happen because from
27:00
what I understand we're not even there yet no like I I you know I think it's um I
27:08
think it's a lot of noise out there right there's none of us truthfully really know uh I think that 25% on any
27:14
you know developed nation business is going to
27:23
be works off more than 20% from a growth standpoint so if you make it more than
27:29
that before you're never you know you're not going to have a viable business so yeah you're not selling stuff anyways
27:36
yeah so true maybe it's different when you're you know a multinational and margins are you know slightly different
27:43
from one country to the next i mean but I I don't play in that world so I can't really comment to it but yeah no I think
27:49
it would be I don't think it's you know again single to marine in the with I
27:55
think it would very much hurt all of us so all the more reason my friends to buy a Canadian I was just about to ask him
28:02
how many boat manufacturing companies are in Canada is there a lot is there a few you have Princecraft the answer to
28:08
that already but no no not just fishing boats i mean any boats maybe there's a pleasure boats because you know is there
28:13
other go ahead this is a hard question to ask because can you know um Canada
28:19
has a lot of actually small boat builders uh very talented people but those boats generally stay fairly
28:25
regional to that builder um and the builder would be producing probably less than you know on average probably less
28:32
than 30 35 boats a year so it's not something that you know is going to grow out of that regional
28:39
presence of as far as major builders that I'm aware of there's less than half a dozen and we would carry a majority of
28:46
them there you know anybody building more than two 300 boats a year in Canada um you know I think we're partnered with
28:53
and um proud to be so great products um you know I think it just goes against
28:59
honestly population and and frankly climate it's a lot easier to build boats down south in the US than it is up in
29:05
even southern Canada where get you know it's cold okay um just not to to to go back to
29:12
this but Lzelle also estimated that approximately 90% of boats sold in Canada are sourced from the US so if
29:19
this thing ever does come to fruition uh and I'm talking this thing being the tariff or some form of of tariff it it
29:26
could have an impact on pricing i mean it's not going to change anything other than the fact that we're going to be hey
29:32
uh uh vehicles are going to be facing that trucks are going to be facing that uh here very shortly so it's just uh
29:39
part of right just drives inflation in general right but again it's you know at this point it's just noise so I think
29:45
the key is to just uh you know remain positive and uh deal with what is as it
29:50
comes and uh in the meantime go fishing and make uh some memories with your family and friends right well said
29:55
moving on from that subject is it realistic i spoke to somebody at the Toronto Sportsman Show a few weeks ago
30:03
and he was on the on the cusp of making that first big boat buy of his life and
30:09
so he was trying to get some advice in terms of timing etc what's the best time of year for
30:16
somebody looking to buy a boat and and let's not talk about you know a small
30:21
little tin boat that they're going to put on the car and drive to their pond but you know a sizable investment what
30:27
is the best time of year to buy a boat in this country yeah it depends i think it's more so
30:33
that um you know again we speak to we run a very consistent pricing
30:38
methodology um the reason being is we want to sell you three to five boats as a minimum we don't want to sell you one
30:44
boat and not see you again so um I don't think to be frank our pricing waivers that much other than sometimes we can
30:50
have you know hey if you can pay us within a certain period of time you know we can help incentivize the deal a
30:55
little bit outside of that we're running a lot of manufacturer promos and the manufacturer promos I find are just
31:00
slightly different offering um from fall to spring but those would be their most aggressive points i find in the fall
31:06
they're giving you a little bit more cash whereas in the spring they're giving you a little bit more uh value ad I would say um you know it really the
31:14
pricing you're going to get a good fair deal almost always it it's really just you're making a sizable investment and
31:21
it's supposed to be something based on love and emotion you know I'd rather just see the person get what they want i
31:27
mean you know get 100 grand and it's a,000 bucks either way right get what
31:32
you want i mean because Yeah that's so true right because a lot of times you
31:38
you you just agonize over making that decision and it's based on some minor little you know u price uh issue as
31:47
opposed to what you just said it this is this is for most people this is a
31:52
passion of love this is going to change the way they live their lives this is going to impact their family it's going
31:58
to have so many you know outreaching uh tentacles
32:04
tied to it that really it shouldn't be based on that it should be based on when are you ready to buy the boat when is it
32:10
good for you to buy the boat as opposed to when you're ready no pull the trigger when you're ready boating is is fun from
32:17
the from just starting a boat and going on a tour in a pontoon boat around your lake and coming back to the cottage or
32:23
going fishing to the extent what we do multiple days of fishing and and boating is just it's it's great it's gratifying
32:29
you know what I mean so pontoon boats he just mentioned are they still leading the way
32:36
uh I find all of the boat categories or segments are are fairly cyclical so it's you know I I I find Pontoon I would say
32:43
is I wouldn't want to use the word flat in the sense that it's not doing well i would just say it's it's flat in the
32:48
sense of its peers you know like they all slightly go up and down and yeah I'd
32:53
say they're in the middle ground right now um I think that a lot of pontoons have done very well for a you know
33:00
probably about a decade now um my speculation would just be based on the average age of a baby boomer
33:11
specifically so I think that that's been going on for a good 10 year period now um but by the same token pontoons aren't
33:18
something you upgrade every other year like a fishboat or a toeboat per se so um you know the life cycle is a little
33:23
bit longer so I I would say they're you know they're running middle of the pack there's no concern from a business
33:29
standpoint and uh you know from a boating standpoint there's a lot of cool products they're still putting on them year-over-year so it's uh you know
33:35
almost trying to push the boat into a category where you do want to upgrade a little bit more frequently than you need is there Steve with speaking of pontoons
33:43
are are there any customers out there that are are extremely fishing oriented
33:48
but still buy pontoon boats you know versus buying our French craft boats and all that but because they do set you
33:54
know Princecraft has a a good bunch of pontoons that are set up for fishing put electric trolling motor up with fishers
33:59
on the seats up front are there people that are out there saying I'm going to fish more than pleasure boat but I like
34:04
this pontoon boat to do it in yeah I think it's a great question um and this
34:09
might be just more specific to our business model because like I said we're set up that we uh want you to be our
34:15
customer for a very long time we usually sell you multiple boats over a lifetime um what we've seen is people coming out
34:20
of their Princecraft fishing boat and into a Princecraft pontoon but they're not really fishing with it ah so I don't
34:27
know if it just speaks to the journey of the boater and the loyalty to a brand
34:32
per se but I don't see as many people fishing on pontoons per se but I do see a lot of people coming from fishing
34:38
boats into pontoons not as much the other way but there's there's definitely some synergy there too so I think people
34:44
become you know brand loyal and I mean Princecraft is a great Canadian brand right so
34:49
what's the uh what's the trend right now what's the big the big trend what is everybody clamoring to to to make sure
34:57
that they can find you know we're just it's almost it feels weird to say this
35:02
but it feels like we're just back in a normal world other than the political uh noise and banter i mean you know all the
35:09
segments are kind of hitting here and there they're doing their things like nothing specifically is lighting the world on fire nothing specifically is
35:15
catastrophic it uh you know the best way I could put it feels in the boat world it feels like 2015 to 2018 it's just uh
35:22
you know we're trucking along got to skate a bit um want to do the best we can for the customer and boats are
35:28
moving so everything's okay that's a good thing to hear are you getting asked more about electric motors
35:35
really i mean I I think that you know in our belief system throughout our sister
35:41
industries like we believe that powersports follows auto we believe that we follow powers sports and that's kind of like the evolution of or refinement
35:48
in our industries um you know I think auto has seen the maybe almost the cap
35:53
of electric vehicles like we've really you know I think a lot of governments put good incentives out there to push as
35:58
many out there as they possibly could and I think the you know people have used it for the last you know call 5 to
36:05
10 years pretty heavily and they've discovered when electric vehicles are the right solution for you know their
36:11
lifestyle and I think other people have seen that certain ones aren't for their lifestyle uh so in saying that I feel
36:17
that both Powers Sports and Bow are able to hone in on that a little bit quicker maybe than auto was where it's like you
36:23
know the technology just isn't quite there yet to make it a you know a daytime recreational thing for your
36:29
family so we're not going to try to make it something it isn't but at the same time you know for smaller tours or going
36:36
with your family on a small tour for an hour or two and you're okay with you know an 8 to 10 hour charging time these
36:41
things are you know they're great i think also for a lot of the stuff Mercury has come out with and the small small stuff for fishing that's a really
36:48
cool application as well but you know is it ever going to push you on a 28 foot dual console with two families in it i
36:55
think it's still going to be quite a few years before we accomplish that um you know Yamaha's doing some very cool things with hydrogen so it'll be really
37:01
neat to see where that goes yeah that would be interesting the guy once again at Sports Show had it said it best you
37:07
know he says the people who who cuz uh we had the uh the Merc
37:13
7.5 there yeah yeah and we were talking about it anyways he said you know people who look at these motors are more into
37:22
the whole notion of generating uh power
37:27
from alternative sources than fossil fuels than they are into fishing and
37:32
he's right you know he's absolutely right if I'm into fishing I'm not there
37:37
yet mentally to say "Yeah and but I really love the notion of solar power or
37:44
battery power or whatever." Right give me that 99 four stroke exactly i'll mix a little gas or put some gas in there
37:51
and start it up and that's what he said he said "I'll go all day on on my tank cuz I want to fish." Right so yeah and
37:57
and basically that's what you're saying is that we're not quite uh there uh you
38:03
know if if these outboard if the gas outboards the technology was shite and
38:08
they weren't running good and all that but they're getting better and better all the time now these four strokes right back in the day when those old
38:14
two-strokes is they're so iffy to to run them and you know you carry them all the way in and they don't start or they
38:20
stall or whatever and these things nowadays these four strokes are awesome or you literally leave as much unburned
38:25
fuel in the water than you do burn so no we've come a long way and you know
38:31
another application right um you know not to knock any other industry but it's like I I'm a bit of a traditional guy i
38:38
like you know boat big engine having some fun but uh you know watching the
38:43
average person try to start a two-stroke chainsaw man I all the way
38:51
that is so true they won that is so true you know another thing that's not talked
38:56
about right now we're talking the tariffs blah blah blah but as of right now as of this podcast now it might not stay that way but gas prices are a lot
39:03
better right now than they were last year right so if you're running a bigger boat you know that's a that's a yeah it's huge at the end of a year it
39:10
might not be for one trip well it even is for one trip but you and your tow if you tow your boat like we do you got your truck gas and then your boat all
39:16
day long you can make a lot of savings too so hopefully that'll stay down the gas prices that's a good point so of
39:21
course of course that's even more volatile than Trump so Right exactly
39:27
don't want to get into that right now exactly what about storage getting your boats out of storage Steve now this is
39:33
the time of year right now where most people are they probably don't even have their boats out yet so getting the boats
39:38
out of storage what do they do yeah no that's uh we're we're stressing out a bit i'm not going to lie because it just
39:44
our window just shrinks to get everything done in the same amount of time right um the workload doesn't generally dow up and down too much i
39:51
mean we hope there's incremental growth year over year of course but more so it's a mother nature lets us out at the end of March you know we get a bit ahead
39:57
if mother nature holds us into the beginning of May it becomes a very challenging stressful time so no we got
40:05
you know everything is pretty frozen in still so it's it's going to be a little bit um in saying that I mean my always
40:12
magic hope is that you get a nice day and everybody starts thinking about it then I'm like hey 3 4 days of overcast
40:18
is now good let's get some work done and then it's h you know couple nice days to the weekend and back to overcast and
40:23
let's get the work done so we'll see how mother nature deals us but yeah I'm sure we will prevail as always and uh just
40:30
I'm sure like most of our customers so excited to get back out on the water it's long cold winter no kidding do
40:37
people call you to set like they're pulling the boat out i'm I'm assuming a lot of people might just take their boat and go fishing and boating or whatever
40:43
but I think it would be recommended that you should get a little spring tuneup or something you know get the guys to look at it I would think but do they is it
40:50
normally like I we're going to call uh any of your marinas and set up the the appointment or how does that work yeah I
40:57
mean they all have different offerings uh you know different schedules capacities specialties um given the
41:03
network's so wide but yeah I mean the way I always look at it and um you know people who work closely with me can tell
41:09
you I'm a very uh you know price value frugal person so I watch pennies but anytime it's going to do with your
41:15
safety or your families like you know I get my sled checked out every year because to be frank I ride a lot on my
41:21
own it's my peace and quiet time and I'm out in the wilderness and I want to come back so I'm going to give myself as best
41:27
a chance as possible you know are you going to freeze in a boat probably not but I'm going to have my whole family
41:32
with me and that's almost more stressful if something goes wrong even in warm weather than being on your own in the
41:38
cold you know what I mean so to me having everything set up just so I know it's going to work and giving your best
41:44
odds for that it it just makes sense to me um I would assume most marinas offer
41:51
storage uh winter storage for boats I would think yeah like all of our marinas offer storage in a different variety of
41:57
um packages is there an advantage for somebody to make that arrangement when
42:02
they purchase a boat um over maybe looking for somebody who has boat
42:09
storage you know on a on a private property somewhere that that they offer
42:14
cheaper less expensive boat storage is there an advantage yeah 100% i mean you know the buildings
42:22
that they're going in alone especially with inclement weather I mean you're you know you're getting what we call proper
42:27
boat house storage buildings um I I think that's a huge piece of mind personally uh the other thing is you
42:34
know especially if you're buying the boat you just work at a relationship on a long-term basis it's really nice to
42:39
you know boating's fun right it's supposed to be fun when you go in and you do have to make it a bit of a business transaction you know spend
42:45
money and you know budget and things like that it's much nicer to do it with someone you trust and who's known you the whole way along and wants to
42:51
genuinely take care of you they're not there just because of the business side of it they're there for the really So
42:57
indoor storage I think fun stress free is a great thing indoor storage versus outdoor storage is it worth the extra
43:03
money to get your boat stored in a nice warm environment versus getting it shrink wrapped and and etc etc yeah like
43:12
I think every investment requires you know different upkeep as a minimum to
43:18
keep it as an investment right so if I have a fairly nice boat a lot of you know speckled gel colors more sensitive
43:25
upholstery that was definitely designed for a southern environment then yeah I'm going to want to make sure it stays in a
43:30
heated environment um myself anytime I could put a boat into what I would call
43:38
you know indoor storage but it's not necessarily heated i mean that to me is the minimum and the only reason being is
43:44
you know being budget conscious uh you over the years and stuff like that I've had some shrink wrap boats um you know
43:52
the quality of the boat coming out of storage isn't as good as it would have been if the boat was put in a dry stack boat house so yeah I mean it's just
43:58
about what you're willing to spend to protect your investment there but to answer the question on the quality of products there is definitely a different
44:05
quality between you know heated indoor boat indoor uh cold and shrunk wrap
44:10
outside yeah there you will definitely see the difference between the products okay uh is there a process that takes
44:16
place when when somebody brings a boat to a marina to be stored is there a
44:22
process that takes place where everything is checked out by both parties to make sure that the boat
44:27
that's coming in is going to be the boat that's coming out and I'm not talking necessarily model and serial number but
44:34
in terms of the shape of the the product when it goes in i I'll tell you why i'll
44:39
tell you why I'm saying this my daughter had a a nightmare uh hopefully it's not one of your marinas so I won't mention
44:45
any names but um very expensive very expensive uh boat and uh they did what
44:53
most people do and that is don't even question the fact that it's a better
44:58
idea to have it stored by the people that sold you the boat right that that's that would be common thinking for all of
45:04
us anyways bottom line is they um something happened uh during the storage
45:11
period and they had a significant amount of damage on the boat and so they um
45:18
they spent a couple of months uh wrangling over this thing and that's why and that's why I say you know do you is
45:25
there a some kind you know when when I rent a car there's I got to walk out of when you said that right i got to walk
45:31
around the car and we got to mark off all the stone chips and the windshield and all that stuff so that when I bring
45:37
it back they can charge me or not charge me is the same process with boat storage
45:42
yeah i mean at our facilities you know for example they might have a service tablet or an iPad and they would come in
45:48
and they would fill out your uh service RL and they would walk around the boat and it would take pictures or a video of
45:54
the individualized boat you know there's a couple generalizations here or kind of
46:00
hopefully they're guides to you know resolution let's say so you bring the boat in for storage it's been evaluated
46:07
the idea is that you get your boat back in the exact same condition but probably a little bit cleaner like that's the whole idea of the nice storage thing we
46:13
said in rental car you can't bring your rental car in full of garbage and they're not going to charge you to clean it they're going to charge you to clean
46:19
it but if you know you throw your garbage out and everything's fine they'll clean it and that's kind of the same idea that you get your boat back a little bit nicer than you brought it in
46:25
depending was reasonable um you know there's certain situations that let's say you know the boat was shrunk wrap
46:31
and it's completely covered in black mold from tip to tail you know that's that's something you and the dealer
46:36
probably are going to have to discuss because I mean there's you know there probably is some accountability on how it was stored to cause that in other
46:44
situations though that you know people aren't always as educated on and why why would they be would be something called
46:49
pinking right pinking is an anti is a microbial disease basically or organism that comes out of the cushion foam and
46:55
tinks the seats and it looks awful on to be frank it has nothing to do with how the boat's stored but it could give you
47:01
the same you know impression as that black mold and that was how the boat's stored so sometimes it's not always easy
47:08
to have these conversations specifically you know being that people are in the marine business they don't know these individualized things i don't know a lot
47:14
about what you know why did this plumbing not work specifically versus the other i know it drains water like this why is it not working i don't know
47:21
you know what I mean so it's those conversations can be a little bit challenging it's just cuz everybody doesn't have the same information but
47:27
for a lack of better word going back to the products yes you're you know if you use indo indoor heated storage you are
47:32
going to mitigate your risk against anything versus outdoor shrink wrap but they both have a price that reflects
47:39
that right oh for sure for sure right hey Steve go back to let's go back to a bit of spring tuneups or whatever you
47:45
want to call it can people nowadays is it easy now we have lots of four stroke
47:50
motors out there and they need an oil change just like a car needs an oil change can a person do their own oil
47:56
change a simple basic oil change let's say in the spring or the fall in their driveway or whatever is that uh is that
48:02
easy enough to do nowadays yeah I think so it just depends on the generation of motor i mean you know the newer Mercury
48:08
and Yamahas both are very ergonomic in the sense that they're designed to make it clean and fairly straightforward to
48:15
change the oil on them um you know the only thing I would say is it's not like
48:21
a car in the sense that the oil pan just sits level to the ground most of the time and you know you just put a certain
48:26
amount of oil in whether you're a little short or a little high and it's generally okay i mean a lot of these are dry so motors are operating on angles
48:32
and more extreme you know weather conditions so it's just it's you know making sure the right amount of fluids
48:38
are going in and came out is very critical you know you got to pay very close attention to it interesting it's
48:43
not to say you don't have a high-end car but you know to be frank do I trust my son changing the oil on a Yukon for sure whatever right yeah I got you good point
48:51
i got you i know another thing something I encountered this year and it's it's just as a an FYI to people listening is
48:59
um I saw some remnants in the water last year you know oil slick or whatever and
49:06
I got power poles and you got the motor you got all kinds of stuff there that has fluids in it and I didn't I thought
49:11
it was the power poles for sure so I put the boat away then do the uh lower unit
49:17
gear change and bunch of water comes out i think wow so what happened obviously
49:23
mechanical marina went in there and it was a bunch of braided fishing line had literally got in there around the prop
49:30
shaft went right in and cut right into the seals and it was literally leaking you know it's been around for 100 years
49:36
that happens and the point the point is people if you're out there with the fishing lines the problem is that these
49:42
people discard their fishing line and throw it out there and they don't realize that they are could be doing it to themselves but it it could be just a
49:48
motor could be an animal could be whatever but that stuff is tough as nails right that thin you know 8 10 lb
49:54
braided line i mean it's good for for mechanics I guess for Steve's business maybe but uh but other than that it's
50:00
not good for anything else so you got to watch that stuff like pick up your discarded fishing line put it in the garbage can put it away and then put it
50:06
in the garbage can when you get home so because it'll be costly in the long run so and electric motors get also
50:12
absolutely both of them both of them lines right up um with the obviously
50:18
electronics are are becoming more and more popular even on smaller boats and and even uh people who don't necessarily
50:27
have to have six units on a boat but they're becoming more and more popular because people realize that that it's a
50:33
huge advantage both in terms of uh fishing but also navigation do you guys
50:39
offer a service is it do most marinas offer a service where they'll actually
50:45
rewire the boat correctly for u the type of electronics that somebody wants to
50:51
install yeah yeah so all of our marinas would do that and you're right it's becoming you know more and more popular i mean I don't think you can buy a basic
50:57
car without a giant screen in it so I think once you get in any vehicle there's an expectation of some form of
51:03
modern day electronic and uh you know it's with boating it's actually one nice thing over kind of I guess of a you know
51:08
a car I would say is it's easy to kind of modify and add stuff to a boat and it doesn't look aesthetically out of place
51:14
right so yeah so we definitely see a big evolution of that and I think Brunswick to be frank saw you know a huge um that
51:22
wave of business for the marine industry being that they started investing in that almost more than boats and motors
51:27
you know from a period of about 10 years ago um so yeah I I think it's definitely
51:32
going to be a common place and hopefully you know a good business for us the next little while i was going to say to the
51:38
point where maybe marinas are going to start actually retailing the uh electronics oh yeah like we we retail
51:44
and install all of it i mean you know the real thing and you know this is just I think transparent is you know we're
51:51
not going to be always the best price in the cart we're generally quite competitive but compared to a box store
51:56
online or Amazon we're the one who's going to install it for you and back it if you bought it and uh install with us
52:02
right so it's it's not in getting the part it's in how you're to that point installing it in an older boat and
52:07
retrofitting it properly so that you don't have a fire and if you did you could still say to your insurance company this is covered because it was
52:13
installed by a certified dealer right i don't think it'll be too far down the road where where boat manufacturers are
52:20
going to pre they're going to change the way they they think in terms of uh
52:25
plumbing the wiring in a boat i think they're doing it now some of the bigger bass boat companies for sure with the
52:30
high end just general because yeah because we we always our our Princecraft
52:36
we literally have to rewire our princecraft every year because it doesn't it will not it'll handle a a normal basic set of fish finders two
52:42
fish finders no problem but when Ang and I are out there we're running four fish finders two live scopes this that and
52:48
the other and I'll tell you what you need a lot of you know a lot of changes in there in the battery so yeah it'd be
52:53
nice if the manufacturers did that but otherwise go to a guy like Steve and they will do it for you but it's
52:59
essential that you do that and always remember that your trolling motor setup is completely different than your fish
53:06
finder setup i mean it should be must be yeah so just keep that in mind because you say "I got lots of batteries." No no
53:11
no there's a more a lot more to it so uh well ironically speaking it's almost the
53:17
opposite way with the average person who's upgrading is there's not enough battery right like that's one right
53:23
consumer is an expense that maybe hasn't been budgeted for right away because it's you know it's a lot of electronics
53:30
they draw a lot of juice yep i remember when I was in the debris business a 100 years ago uh
53:37
consumers because for whatever reason they they just automatically assume well if I'm buying a boat from you then
53:44
shouldn't you just be throwing in batteries just like you know like they I need three batteries just just throw
53:51
three batteries in don't add them on to the price of the thing but that's has that changed or is it still
53:56
you know I I don't get the privilege of being on the front retail side as much anymore um from what I can see the
54:03
general tone is I think people are now fairly aware that things are priced to sell almost always like there there
54:10
isn't you know fat margins in anything so I actually think that and you know I
54:15
don't know if my sales teams would disagree with you i think the consumer has become a little bit more um aware of
54:21
pricing and that just there's only so much we can do it really comes down to more time something's wrong are you
54:27
there for me 100% okay final question I have for you when are we going to get to
54:33
the point where a marina and not all marinas and you might have a one of
54:38
these in your in your uh marinas when is a marina going to offer a comprehensive
54:46
service to folks they may have or may not have bought the boat from that
54:51
marina but I need to go i want a marina where I can take my rig fully rigged out
54:59
and I can take it to them and they can charge me a reasonable price to test and see if
55:06
my prop is the right prop for my package and I don't mean just look at it and say
55:13
"Oh that's a 24 by3 uh that's a 22 foot boat." Yeah yeah that's good i'm talking
55:19
about having the ability to take a boat and
55:24
start experimenting with pitch and size of props until they find the one that is
55:31
perfect for my rig not that rig my rig
55:36
nobody's offering it and I've always said hey we we've if somebody starts offering this service they're going to
55:42
be lined up for years but nobody seems to want to do it
55:48
so it's it's funny that you say that so the other day we were having a meeting with Mercury and uh maybe I'm not
55:54
supposed to say this i don't really know but um yeah it sounds like they have
55:59
identified you know something similar and uh they're looking to maybe bring in a manufacturing
56:06
details of when or if it would actually happen but you know it seems like they've heard it from consumers too so I
56:12
would hope that something along that line will happen i mean I think it's you know it also just it it it's part of the
56:18
business flow right like over the last you know four or five years it's been pretty good for the boat business right and you know people are just trying to
56:24
get things out for everybody now that you know it's more back to kind of a regular pace the little passion projects
56:32
throughout the industry get to almost come to light again and people they get to be embraced and grow and drive the
56:37
future of R&B and all these cool new things for boating it becomes a little bit more holistic so I think we're going
56:43
back into that phase a bit and uh you know I could not agree with you more i mean you do have to you know also be
56:49
aware that that segment isn't as big anymore because boats have been you know
56:54
how do you say this you're using a boat that's been produced in the last 10 to 20 years well even it was done by
57:00
digital engineering right whereas 20 years before that we were genuinely like
57:05
the dealers were testing and still making sure it was the right prop and the right thing for this boat and this application in this market whereas now a
57:13
lot of the time the manufacturer can send us those specs right off the get-go and they they really have already drilled it in so but I'm not talking
57:20
about a new boat package i'm talking about a person's boat and that boat if
57:28
Pete and I have two identical boats I'll guarantee you both of those hulls are
57:33
going to perform differently because of what we put in right right what we've
57:38
put in the boat the positioning of of batteries the positioning of tackle in our case fishing boats and I'm not just
57:44
talking fishing boats by the way i'm talking about boats in general you can have two identical packages that some
57:50
two people have purchased and then 3 months later you take those two rigs and
57:55
you put them in the water and they are not going to perform the same because each one of us has done something to
58:02
their rig that we want to that has changed the performance scope that's the
58:08
type of place I'm talking about where I where where that person can take that boat the way it is and say "Okay I want
58:15
you now to put this through your whatever it is in the water and I want
58:21
you to find the perfect prop for me not only pitch and size but manufacturer
58:28
material all of that stuff." You know I I see it i see what that marina looks like i see that they've got like shelves
58:36
and shelves of used test props not used but yeah used because that's what they
58:41
they do during the testing process i can see you know two two uh mechanics
58:49
working on this boat and changing that prop and running it coming back changing it running it and and until they find
58:57
that sweet spot all boats as you know have that sweet spot when you hit that sweet spot and you got everything
59:03
running right my god it's a different boat it's not even the same and we see it all the time in the field we see we
59:10
we'll look at a boat and say "Boy that guy's not running very good." You can see it the the the hull is struggling
59:17
you know with with the power and the prop that's on it that would be great yeah no I mean
59:23
it's Yeah a lot of guys want to you know I think uh can run them themselves too
59:29
so you know a great prop program would be a wonderful thing I think for the industry in general be great be costly
59:34
though wouldn't it like I mean would the people That's why I say like a lot of guys want to run it themselves because they're not willing to pay the technician to run the boat which I find
59:41
with running the boat's the fun part if you're really into this generally want to do that um but even for for
59:48
efficiency especially somebody who's frugal because as you know when you do find that sweet spot on the boat there's
59:55
also economy involved here because you're going to be performing so much better the fuel consumption that's
1:00:00
coming out of that boat is going to go down drastically so so the way that's that service would be sold would be on
1:00:07
some kind of a scale that you can show that you know over the course of of 5
1:00:12
years here's what you have saved by having a more efficient that's the way
1:00:17
you do it that would work because it would be costly up front but then it would save you in the long run right it could be like a $1,000 day to get it
1:00:23
done right you're spending over $100,000 for a boat you know this is not something that just
1:00:29
somebody buying a used $20,000 rig is going need but somebody who's spending a hundred grand plus for a boat hell yeah
1:00:38
hell for sure you're going to spend another thousand bucks to get it run properly you're going to save that in
1:00:43
the first year in fuel on some of these bigger boats right they don't give a [ __ ] about fuel in those boats that's
1:00:49
true well then they shouldn't care about what Steve's going to charge them to get the boat running right be perfect
1:00:56
anyways let me know when you get one of those up and running i will be your first customer
1:01:02

1:01:38
previous job now obviously it's he's been moved to a more executive position
1:01:43
so I I was going to ask it yeah I was going to ask him the same sometimes people like being on the tools more than they do the foreman you know what I mean
1:01:50
he used to be into performance like big time especially on snowmobiles so I wonder why he didn't Maybe he's got
1:01:56
stuff in the mix where he said he's talking to MC oh maybe there's a Anyways that or it uh what do we got left to do
