Electric fishing motors—or trolling motors, as they’re commonly called—have been around since 1895. Over time, these handy fishing accessories have evolved exponentially.

The top of the line modern-day trolling motor is a thing of genius. They can even run entirely on their own, leaving you to concentrate on the fishing.

The two innovative features these motors possess are anchoring and trolling along a designated path.

To anchor in an exact position, simply push the anchor button and the motor’s built-in GPS takes over the steering and propulsion, constantly working to keep your boat in position.

To memorize a trolling path, press the start point button, run the boat to the finish point, and push stop. Now, the motor can repeat your intended route.

Today’s trolling motors are complex yet surprisingly easy to use.
