I’m gonna share a secret I earned on the Bassmaster Elite circuit, covering a couple of tournaments for Outdoor Canada magazine. And it’s about Senko-style baits.

Now every Bass angler has tons of Senkos in the boat. You fish them “wacky” or you fish them Texas-rigged. But what the guys on the Elite circuit are doing now, they’re fishing it totally arrow-straight and weightless as a topwater bait, reeling it ever-so-slowly and it comes through those weedy frog-type areas—comes through just like a water snake across the surface. And if a fish comes up and explodes on it and misses your bait, you let it fall right back down. They slam it. Game on.

It’s the best technique that the pros don’t want you to know about.
