This Ice-Fishing Hotspot is near an old sunken roadbed on Blackstrap Lake in Saskatchewan. We drill holes to locate the road and, during the middle parts of the day, we fish in the deepest water we can find and set tip-ups on the slope up to the road.  As night approaches, we follow the Walleye up the ledge.

Tiny jigs (we use HT Marmooska and Hoggers) with maggots or small dead minnows work great for the Perch. Walleye were biting on small and medium-size jigging spoons tipped with minnows. And the Pike were all caught on horizontal strike rigs under tip-ups with large smelts as bait.

Remember, live minnows are prohibited for use as bait in Saskatchewan.

Many thanks to FishingSaskatchewan.ca for sending us this great Hotspot.
