On This Weekends Show – January 25, 2020

Angelo will be joined by Yvonne Brown from Fishing 101 for women. This
organization promotes the sport of fishing for girls and women. For many this is
their first opportunity. Yvonne and her team have organized an ice fishing program
for ladies on the Family Day weekend at Boshkung Lake.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, the Honorable John Yakabuski,
will discuss the proposal for extending the spring bear hunt. The proposal is
posted for public comment on the Environmental Registry.

Dave Chong is a bass tournament fisherman and member of Aurora Bass
Masters. During the winter months, Dave promotes ice fishing and he shares
some tips and hot spots for those who enjoy a day on the ice!

The Nature Conservancy has a new program for the management and care of a
number of their properties in Ontario. Kristyn Ferguson explains the app
iNaturalist and how it will be used as part of the NCC program.

If you enjoy a day on snowshoes, X Country skis, or a fat tire bike, the Georgian
Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre offers a number of programs for all ages. Wil Smith
has all the details and the program for the upcoming Family Day weekend.
