Here on the Fish’n Canada show, one of the questions we get asked most is, “Where can I take my kids fishing?”

With the sport attracting more Canadians than both hockey and golf combined, it’s no wonder that parents are excited about getting their kids into angling.

Thankfully, here in Ontario, the answer is simple.  You can take your kids pretty much anywhere. With over 400,000 lakes, rivers, streams, and ponds, there is always a fishing hole close by.

And with countless parks and public docks available to curious first-timers…..there are opportunities galore!

Now for those parents without a fishing license, Ontario offers two full weeks of license-free fishing each and every year. That way Mom and Dad can join in and make it a family affair. And remember here in Ontario, kids under 18 always fish for free!

There you go, parents:  Problem solved.  Now all you have to do is take that first step, get out there and start having fun. Trust me, your kids will thank you big time!
