Fish Talk – Let It Load

HIya folks,

Let it load. That’s what I want to talk about today folks, letting your rod load.

One of the ironies about fishing is when the fish are really aggressive—whether they’re Walleyes, or Smallmouth, muskies, or maybe even Northern Pike—and they’re slashing at your bait, we tend to miss them more often than not. The reason for that is our rods are so good, our reels are so good, and our lines are so sensitive, we almost feel the fish hitting before they actually have the bait in their mouth.

So you always want to let your rod load. What I mean is you want to see the tip almost start to bend over, and as it goes over and you start to feel the fish as it loads, then you set. Always wait that split second or two, let it load, and you’re going to land 99% of the fish that hit.
