Hiya folks,
I want to talk today about Mr. Dependable: the electric trolling motor up front on most of our boats. When you think about it, our big motor at the back? We rarely use it for much more than an hour per day. But our electric trolling motors up front? Many days, we’ll run them for seven, eight, nine hours or more. They have to be dependable or we’re not fishing.
I’m going to tell you a little secret today that will extend the life of your trolling motor. When you get home at night and you’re charging up your batteries, always disconnect the trolling motor from the connection. You never want to charge your batteries by running the household current through your electronic trolling motor when it’s plugged in. Always, always disconnect it and you will not run the risk of doing damage to Mr. Dependable.
