Hiya folks,
Today I want to talk about doing something a little bit different.
So many of the baits we throw, they have built-in actions of their own. Almost mesmerizing actions. And they’re so enticing that fish will come in and they’ll follow right to the boat. But they don’t strike.
What you need to do every time you throw one of these baits is halfway through (or even just a quarter of the way through) the retrieve, just pause for a second or two and let the bait either fall or rise. Sometimes, as you’re reeling it in, pop it once or twice or make a directional change. Do something to pull the bait out of character. When you do that with a “search bait” you turn it into a “catch bait”.
