I love eating rice, I love rice! And I also take it with me every time I go fishing.
One of the banes/reasons we don’t get good hook sets, often we have a bit of rust on our hooks. Now for sure you should file them and touch them up, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
One of the best ways to prevent rust on your hooks; you can take the silica desiccant packs and put them in your boxes. But what I like to do is simply take rice, uncooked raw rice, and sprinkle it inside. What happens, I get any moisture whatsoever, it starts to swell and the rice absorbs all the moisture.
Take rice with you. If you ever get stranded, you got something to eat as well!
