Did you know that Ontario’s Georgian Bay is known in Canada as the sixth Great Lake? But in reality, it’s the northeastern arm of Lake Huron.
For years, boaters and anglers consider Georgian Bay as one of the absolute best-boating destinations in all of Ontario. A main draw to this area is the 30,000 islands which dot this magnificent piece of geography.
Georgian Bay is approximately 190 kilometers long by 80 kilometers wide. It covers around 15,000 square kilometers, making it 79% the size of Lake Ontario.
Power-boaters and anglers aren’t the only people who can capitalize on this pristine, beautiful and seemingly endless boating mecca. Canoeists, Kayakers, sailors and pretty much any other type of boaters can enjoy this boating paradise.
