Sturgeon Slayers has landed a new record Fraser River white sturgeon, measuring 11 feet, 8.2 inches long with a 60-inch girth. The catch surpassed the group’s previous record from 2021, when an 11-foot, 6.5-inch sturgeon with a 55-inch girth was landed.

Both record-setting fish had never been caught before and were tagged and released, demonstrating the success of ongoing conservation efforts.

White sturgeon can live for more than 100 years, and their long-term survival depends on continued habitat protection, research, conservation and public education.

Sturgeon Slayers follows mandatory catch-and-release practices while promoting proper fish handling, minimizing fight times and educating anglers on responsible sturgeon care.
