MLF Launching New Competitive Fishing Game in 2026

For many anglers, time on the water isn’t always possible. That gap is exactly what Major League Fishing is aiming to fill with its upcoming video game, MLF Pro Catch, set to launch in June 2026.

The game is being positioned as a competitive fishing simulator designed to mirror the strategy and decision-making of real-world tournament angling. Rather than leaning into arcade-style gameplay, Pro Catch focuses on realism, requiring players to constantly adjust their approach based on changing conditions.

Players will fish across a variety of environments, including both freshwater lakes and coastal waters modeled after real fisheries. Conditions within the game are dynamic, with shifting weather patterns, changing light levels, and wind direction all influencing how fish position and feed. This forces players to make real-time decisions, from lure selection to overall strategy.

The game features more than 40 fish species, each built with distinct behaviour patterns. These species respond differently based on how they feed, move, and fight, with AI designed to ensure that no two catches play out the same way.

MLF Pro Catch also leans heavily into competition. Alongside solo gameplay, the game will include online tournaments, global leaderboards, and recurring challenges. It will also introduce live tournaments with real-world prizes, adding a higher level of competition beyond traditional fishing games.

Visually, the game includes detailed environments, responsive casting mechanics, and a full day-night cycle. The experience is built to reflect the same decision-making process anglers face on the water, from locating fish to landing them.

Players will also have access to a wide range of licensed equipment from real-life brands. Gear, including rods, reels, tackle, electronics, and boats, can be customized as players progress through career-style gameplay and competitive events.

Following launch, Major League Fishing plans to support the game with ongoing updates, including new locations and additional species. The broader goal is to keep the experience evolving while introducing competitive angling to a wider global audience through gaming.

MLF Pro Catch will debut on Steam in June 2026, with additional releases planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Meta VR platforms through 2026 and 2027.
