Invasive Sea Lamprey
The Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC), is a US/Canadian agency
established to improve and preserve the Great Lakes fishery. The commission
controls invasive sea lamprey, a species that attaches to native fish, feeding on
their blood, usually killing them. Dr. Marc Gaden , Communications Director and
Legislative Liaison for the GLFC, joins us with an update on their lamprey control
program and discusses setbacks due to Covid-19.

Endangered Species Unique to Canada
What better way to celebrate Canada Day then to bring awareness to our uniquely
Canadian wildlife. The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is an organization
that works to protect the natural areas that sustain Canada’s plants and animals.
Earlier this month, they released a report called ‘Ours to Save’, highlighting
species only found in Canada and the threats they face. Daniel T. Kraus is the
National Conservation Biologist at the NCC. He is one of the co-authors of the
report and joins us with more details.

Camping with Kampgrounds of America
Kampgrounds of America (KOA) have surveyed Canadian and U.S. campers and non-campers to find out their thoughts about camping amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The research shows the camping industry may rebound sooner than other forms of travel, and may even gain higher interest due to being one of the safest ways to travel.
